Trying to figure out a small problem with a LED light. I have power at the end of the wires, I have continuity across the LED poles, but I have no light??!!! Now I am no electrical wizard, but it seems that with those premises I should be illuminated. What's going on, do LED's not work the same way as a regular bulb? Enlighten me please!!

No steroids?? Interesting, I have a partially detached retina from a ricochet sweet gum ball. Eye doctor put me on steroid drops to aid the healing, told me the blood would dissipate and I might have floaters for a while (I did), also told me I'm at increased risk for glaucoma. No surgery though. Must be one hell of a bleed Randy, hope things turn out alright. Good luck.

In that case, why not build a platform you can run the bike up and then run the winch to pull the whole shooting match up in the truck. How you planning on stabilizing the bike as you winch it in? If you are going to band the plywood, at least use carriage bolts with shoulder washers. Wouldn't do to rip the screws out! Alternatively, buy a truck with a bigger bed, or get a trailer (with a tilt bed), or even better; they sell trailers for landscapers which have a hydraulic deck which lowers to the ground ........

It LOOKS like it would be the same as what They make the kid's slides, playhouses and such out of.

thanks for the info, I'll pass it on. It is an injection molded shape, smooth with an inlaid checkerboard pattern. I know they've tried heating, sanding, different adhesives primers and even PVC cleaner. Two of the units came back (0.5%) with the rubber mat having let go after being transported in a Fed-Ex truck this summer.

So my wife works for a guy who produces golf training aids (orangewhiptrainer.com). They are trying to find a better way to adhere a rubber mat to a plastic shell. Seems to me there should be something out there which will create a permanent chemical bond other then glue. Anybody out there know anything about plastics? Btw, I'm asking on my own, not at the request of my wife or her boss. Thanks

load test checks OK, but needed recharging. Interesting as I just rode over an hour yesterday. Battery was slightly low on fluid and now I can't find the nut on the negative post and after filing another nut down I can't get the bolt to catch I'll still check on the rest, may have to wait till my next day off I'll add that the voltmeter shows 13.6 to 13.9 at idle (1000RPM) and a steady 14V at 3000RPM+

I'll pull the battery and have it load tested. I do have a new R/R from the group buy I pulled the cable off while lying under the bike, couldn't see any other cable, where is it at?

Since I had the brilliant idea to change jobs and am now working nights, it sure would be nice to have a reliable starting bike in the mornings when it gets cold out there. When it gets cold she acts like a car with a dead battery, makes a half hearted attempt to turn over and stops, it'll do that again when I hit the starter button again. Then if i hook up the charger to jump it it'll turn just fine, still hard to start though. It has done this since I've owned it. battery is good upgraded battery cables starter contact was clean and dry but I pulled it loose and sanded the cable, washer and nut. 12.67V with ignition off 11.7V with ignition on 10.6V with starter engaged 13.37V with 2000RPM Like I said, don't want to be sitting in the parking lot at 0630 when I'm dead tired and not be able to start the bike when it's 30 degrees out there. I do have a set of louvered inserts I can slip into the side panels if anyone thinks that'll help. Thanks in advance

$58 for a button down shirt with custom embroidery is NOT a bad price! Now if you're used to wearing only third world T-shirts from Wally World, then yeah, this might be somewhat of a sticker shock, but out in the real world........ :whistling::confused24::stickpoke:

I've got a Equalean leaning sidecar, not many around but I love mine wouldn't take it off unless I absolutely had to. Like Jeff said, always have your trailer with you. Higher visibility doesn't hurt either.

I've owned a number of smart phones (through Verizon), first one was a Samsung 600 or 620, never had a problem with it till I dropped it on a concrete floor. Other people I talked to that had one hated it. Owned a Treo 700: piece of junk, would self dial and other crap. I replaced it twice and then they gave me the option to get a different phone, they wound up replacing it with a Omnia, I had that for like four years when I traded in It started getting small issues like not responding the first time when you tried to wake it up, etc. Got a GzOne Brigade, no issues but gave it to my wife so she could text easier. Now I have a GzOne Commando and have no issues. My son had an LG Evo and the screens wound up going out constantly. He now has a Droid X with no problems. I think you CAN get a bad phone and I think when they send a replacement it will be a reconditioned one and not a new one. If it is the brand/make/model that is the problem get a different brand/model, if it is the OS, go to a blackberry which has its own problems. I agree that the associate you talk to makes a difference, I always try to talk to the same guy (besides they are commisioned) and have had no issues with Verizon other then them cutting me off when i forget to pay my bill

And here is an actual: SC will lose somewheres around 38 Billion in special Ed funds because they did not spend enough on it in the last school year. What am I missing ... you should have spend more so we are going to give you less so you can spend more :think:

Found this on a BMW forum; someone there suggested pre-loading the shift lever prior to up shifting and it will pop right in the next higher gear. I've tried it and like it, just need to do it enough to make it natural. It'll eliminate all cluncking you may have.

Went to drop something of on the bike, it started just fine in the (AC-ed) garage, drove about 15 miles and when i got done with my errand, it acted as though the battery was dying, forgot to raise the kick stand and she would barely turn over. Had to roll it of to start and the voltmeter just barely touched the top of the "12" at 3500-4000RPM. Temp was at the top of the green too, but at 95 degrees on new blacktop I kinda doubt that is an issue. so before i start tearing into anything i thought I'd ask for opinions. I have the new RR from the last group buy mounted on top of the airbox. I have the stator wired straight into the harness. I do have a new stator if need be. All running lights and brake/tail are LED. Headlight is modified to the two bulb system. No blown fuses I can find. Battery shows 12.87 off and running at 3K 13.8 +/- (at the battery terminals) It would seem there is no problem, but I don't want to get stuck and lose my new job.

Make millions: invent the canceler canceler!
barend replied to Semi-retired's topic in General Tech Talk
You must be one of those people who turns their blinker on when they enter a turn as opposed to "god forbid" before you turn, my MkI cancels automatically after I think 1/10th of a mile. learn the approximate distance and the things will stop right around the time you come out of the turn. If I misjudge or when shifting lanes I just nudge it over to the other side (as opposed to down) and stop them. Now my old Shadow on the other hand required both on and off input. I should perhaps add that I've lived in the south long enough to be cynical when it comes to drivers and their abilities. Turning without signaling, signaling after one starts the turn or just prior to are so common it is ridiculous. .... someone get my soapbox before I get on it........ -
Hmm, I thought that was a lawyer joke..... Point to ponder: An Atheist does not believe in God; but then neither does a Wicken, a Druid, a Hindu or a Muslim, yet all believe ......
