  1. My wife bought something like that at Dick's sporting goods. Wanna say it's a FrogTog product, only about 15x25 or so and can also be used to keep you cool in hot weather depending on which side you are using.
  2. I'm just being curious here. From some of the pics you guys have posted i gather that the sidecar hook-up consist of a triangular framework with a rigid mounted seat box. That being the case, how does the mounting frame look of a sidecar that leans with the bike? Or does it not need the third brace due to the fact that the car itself leans as well? Like I said, just curious!

  6. Must be a chromed rain cover for the GPS so you can get rid of that cheesy ziplock bag .....
  7. I had pegs on mine mounted on the engine crash bar. Like you, I felt they were a touch to clse causing me to have to lift my legs up thus basically rocking back but not really changing my seating position. If you mount pegs on the vertical from the crash bar they do not extend far enough leaving you only the outside half, making them unusable. the answer is one of three; Buy the longhorn offsets and mount them on the vertical. Two, I have seen peg extensions which will move your pegs out i think 4.5 inches or buy some offset boards, got mine from Autopilot and just got them installed. think they are going to work out very well (no Pics yet) Offsets and extensions run about $90 plus pegs and my boards new would run $300. This is the thread I had running: http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=35050
  8. When you get to Greenville, give me a holler if you want. Not sure what we've got on the schedule right now, but maybe we could meet up for dinner. (864)444-5880
  9. Picked the bike up and parked it in my shop. Brakes seem to be the same as what they were prior to me getting them bled, so i suppose i could run it with some serious defensive driving. Earl, I appreciate the SKU and location on the rebuild kit. You say:" I got a Stainless Steel rear brake line from Line Pros. out of Canada $24.00 for any line", would you happen to have a more compete web addy for those guys? Rocket, glad I was sitting when i saw the price on those SS puppies from Buckeye. I am sure they are worth it, just not sure my wallet can handle that right now. Ouch!! For right now I will likely go with the rebuild and speed bleeders (thanks for the suggestion Sylvester) and add the SS in the (near) future. Jimbob, the brake system (with the exception of the rear master) was rebuild last August. New pads, new rear rotor, calipers cleaned/rebuild, flushed, anti dive re-instated, etc. All $600 worth! Shop told me a the time that I may need to rebuild the master if things were spongy! Guess that time has come.
  10. 15 mins and counting 'ffore I need to get my rear back to work, so I'm asking instead of researching! '83 VR in shop with brake pedal bottoming out. figured it needed bleeding. Saturday the brake was firm and working great, today when I came to P/U it was back where I started. shop thinks it may be bypassing the valve but cautioned that a rebuild may not solve the problem. 1. Will a valve rebuild solve the problem ( kit $90) 2. Would I be better off with a new master? (OEM $600) Alternatives? 3. Is a used one an option? Does someone have one? 4. Where do i get the rebuild kit (cheaper)? 5. Where do i get new SS lines? part #? $$? Thanks, in advance! If I can figure out whichis the best way to go, maybe I'll have my bike back by the weekend!! Yeah, I can ride the Shadow, what can i say, I'm spoiled!!
  11. It's a beautifull place! Went there some 30 years ago and hiked to the bottom. Birches were leafing out while it snowed on the rim. Pretty amazing

    Barend!

Just sat down and sent you an E-mail. the pleasure was all ours!! We had a great time, the drive was good except for the thunderboomers on the way back. Look forward to installing these puppies come tuesday. (For some reason the shop won't open to let me out till then:rain2:) We'll just have to try again another day with bikes and you wife as well. Maybe might even consider inviting some other folks if you want:innocent: I'll let you know how things work out on the boards.
  13. I've seen the chevron shaped led's at autozone, stick on I think.
  14. Not that I know much about electrical, but I had a similar problem when driving to and from work (5 miles) at the end of the week the battery was, shall we say, weak. I stopped running my driving and running lights as much and haven't had a problem with that particular issue since. Figured with everything on I'm not recovering enough on the short hops.
  15. So if you would have kept the cat .....
  16. You know illegal aliens do the same!! Now why'd i say that:think:, I can't stand illegals!!:bang head:
  17. Picked my bike up in oledo and rode it home (625 Miles). All I would suggest is to call the local Yamaha dealer and get a recommendation for a good mech shop (dealers don't work on ours - too old) and have this bike checked out (and fixed) top to bottom before you even leave home. That is if you are commited on buying it no matter what. Is what I should have done, as it is I rode home on a dryrot tire and essentially no brakes. (yeah, I do stupid things sometimes) Other then that: go for it and enjoy your vacation!
  18. that was an alternative but Id need en extension or offset to make them work (see Condor's pic) and whitney says they do not come with a different mounting bracket.
  19. Steve, PM sent.
  20. I was looking at JCWhitney and found these highway boards http://www.jcwhitney.com/Floorboards/GP_2002565_N_111+10211+600014704_10111.jcw?currentRecordCount=12 the live chat lady claims that the horizontal mount for the bracket is due to bracket design??? That seems like a bunch of compost. Anybody seen these, use these or have an opinion on? And yes they be pricey!! I am looking to mount something like this on the vertical support for the engine guard since that would allow for better angling and will provide the requisite offset to clear the fairing and still be able to plant your feet. ('course cheaper would be nice) Thanks.
  21. I'm confused, did you turn left, did they turn right or was this some type of merge situation? sorry to hear about your mishap, but glad a shower and clean clothes are all that was needed. Nothing you can do when dealing with jackasses is there?
  22. I might be interested, let me do some checking to see what else I'd need to make it work and I'll let you know. btw, what is the honda adaptor part, or are you not showing that?
  23. Heard this afternoon the fire started with a guy burning yard debris just outside Conway (?) some ten miles from where they lost over 70 houses.
