After 10000 miles my Kenda Kruz tires were done. They were a nice price and did the job. But, I just put on some E3s...and all I can say is WOW! I ride a 1988 First Gen:thumbsup2:

I will obey the speed limit....I will obey the speed limit
ddoggma replied to E-Fishin-C's topic in Watering Hole
I keep thinking the bikes running on 3. So I took it up to 95 today. It did 85 going uphill a little. But it should of had more pull. Coming back the other way it was either running better or the down hill, had her easily at 95mph. With room for more. My mpgs are around 40. Maybe I just need a sync......LOL:nanner: -
Lost Saddlebag Lid
ddoggma replied to Johnxfly's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
I feel for ya. I lost one, then found it again. On the side of the on ramp to I95. I see em on ebay from time to time. Good luck. -
Thay are on the bike....I like em:cool10: Less vibration, better handling. Feels like a nice tire. I guess I have 40 or 50 miles on them so far. The bike likes em better too. More precise steering with less input. Leans over easier also.

Cheap, replacement air cleaners - are there?
ddoggma replied to Semi-retired's topic in Poor Man Tips and Fixes
I got a OEM "EMGO" airfilter off fleabay. Think it was under $30.00 shipped. Its working well as far as I know. Looked just like the one it replaced. -
Maybe not so bad after all????
ddoggma replied to Trader's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
It sounds like a classic running on 3 cylinders. Will she do over 85? My bikes fooled me a couple of times so far. If your not getting on it, you might not notice the power loss. The milage is a indicator its running on 3. If your getting zapped you need new wires. Good luck. -
They came from there east coast warehouse, tenn or kentucky I think. They were onsale but weren't as low as others, But they are cutting me a deal on the mounting. So it works out OK.

I just got a set from cyclegear. Front is 0710rear is 2510 I think. Both are 2010 for sure. I had em mounted today. Gonna put them back on tomorrow. Cant wait to take her for a ride to break em in. I think I will have to replace the muffler hanger bolts. One is tore up bad, the other is on its way. Clamps are all rusted too.... Hope I can get em tight enough.

My new Dunlop E3s came today. So, I will be ready for the second half of the summer in a couple days. I am looking forward to finally seeing some of you folks if we have a PA M&E. One of the first things I want to do with the new tires. Is head over to the little shop by the creek for a visit. Long rides at speed on the old tires didnt sound like a good idea. Now I can rock and roll, again....

I think my bike has that problem too. Same thing happens to me. If she gets wet it runs like crap for a week or so. Last year it was in a garage most of the time so I didn't see it until I moved. Now she gets rained on thru the cover a little and starts trouble.... I have Dunlop E3 on the way, then I want to address the moisture problem.

Watch your tire pressure with those Kendas. I have em on my 88 and they show small cracks on the sides of the center contact patch. I did get 12000 miles out of them and they felt great for grip and in the rain. Noisey in sweeps up on the slabs. I heard the Shinkos grip like mad, but dont last past 6000 miles or less. I mentioned tire pressure cause I did not check it every ride. I did it about once a month and I may have messed them up, by not keeping them up to the correct pressure. I'm gonna try a higher end tire this time and keep the pressure right this time.. I think E3s or Commanders, Avons. See how they feel.

I use Superantispyware, and CrapCleaner, and antimalwarebytes, to try and keep the computer clean. 2 months ago I got a new one that kept coming back. I had to reinstall the OS. Most of my stuff was allready backed up. Its good to do a clean install, every once in a while. To keep windows snappy. Make sure IE is up to date also, run the newest one. It has better protection. Fire Fox is good also. I know how to cleanup a computer, and it was beyond me. I found a walkthru of a registry fix. But thats way heavy. Reinstall is a pain, but in the long run. It's faster and your clean, again. Good luck.

Rt 6 is awesome from right out side Scraton/Wilks to past Bradford, where they make zippo lighters. Lots of places to stop, great views. Make sure to stop in or around Coudersport,PA. Nice little town.

If your going down to Lewes. I think RT#9 is nice. But if its high tide the water comes up on the road a little at some low lying places. One time I went thru the water it was too high. I should have turned around and took 95 down to Dover, then back on 9. Didnt stall but it was over the pipes and I had water shooting up thru the fairing...lol Me and a buddy like riding down that way. Nice tappy called "Sambos" is on the way down. Awesome crabcakes and lots of bikes most days I have been there. I would be up to riding down to Lewes. If you want a escort....lol I'm in that area in PA.

The Flyers had a good run. Pronger had a few bad moments.... other wise he was a stud. The Hawks were the better team, were not far behind. I see Flyers VS Hawks happening again in the CUP. Congrats to the Black Hawks and Chicago, its been awhile.

? What bike would u buy
ddoggma replied to Sandbagger's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Hands down the best value would be a low miles First gen with all the goodies for about $2500.00/$3000.000 . Will run forever, smooth, lots of power. I dont see you beating that value for the money. -
I can get Venoms for $124 + $20.00 to mount em. Or E3s' for $121.00 + the mounting. This is at the local Cycle gear, They are having a sale right now. And it dont look to bad. I'm leaning to the Dunlops.... I can save $20.00 if I do the online buy and have em mount em for $30,00 a piece. But they will do the switch right then and there if I bring the rims into them. Sounds easyer and faster......

I rode her off and on all winter. But not as much as last year. This spring I think I over seafoamed the bike and fouled a plug. Lost a cyl and had poor milage. Changed the plugs and got it firing again, but its still not taking the gas like it used to. Bike runs good ... ran better last year thou. It could just be me pushing the bike too much. But, I seem to remember her have a little more get up and go. Well now I need tires so I will live with it the way it is for now, Get tires then hope SkyDoc is well enought to do a sync and give the bike a look over. Down the road. On a side note, my BIL gave me some Marval Mystery oil. So I put some in to see if it would help...it did. Bike is almost to where I think she should be. But I need a Venture guru to look her over. I'm sure theres little things I havent done that would help alot. Like the wire mod or fuse block upgrade...etc. I cleaned some connection, but I'm guessing alot to what I'm doing with the electric stuff. My start switch needs cleaned too. Headlight is acting up. That could be messing her up I guess. Plus my fuses box is a mess...half new type fuses in line and some old ones on the old board look weak. That cant be good. I'll tackle it after the season if I make it...lol:dancefool:

When I got them I was thinking I would be wearing more down the middle of the tire. But, it looks like I'm leaning it over more and harder than I expected. The bike is way more sporty then I had imagined. I meen its no cafe bike. but it does like the twisties and it will go fast in a straight line also. I guess I did get my moneys worth out of em. But they still look new except for the cracking. I would rather they wear out instead of fall apart. The front does show wear and I was hoping to make it thru the season then get two new tires. But this looks too dicie to ride around on... much. Another guy has pix up of his Kenda cracks. Mine our just starting, but look like they are doing the same type of cracking.

My Kenda Kruz rear tire has developed cracks after about 12,000 miles I guess. This time I'm gonna gets Contis or Mich or Avons I think. Unless I get talked into the Shinkos...lol
