  1. Hey folks, I finally had to fix something on the scoot. Fork seals, just like death and taxes. Any who, took em off had a guy rebuild em. Fixing cracks and stuff with "Q Bond" its like Plastix but i couldnt find that at the local AP store. New speakers, brakes, speedo cable. I'm thinking I should put a set of those ignition wires on her while the coils are right there. Other things I want to do I can get to after I put all the fairing stuff back on. So, Good idea to throw for new wires and caps? If someone on here sells those on ebay I'll get them from you. Thanks
  2. So happy to hear she is coming home. Thank god.
  3. I know your pain all too well. May he rest in peace. Sorry for your loss.
  4. Shinko, sticks well, wears fast. Kenda Kruz, has a funny front tire bevel and a 6 ply back tire. I ran a set, and they were way better then the tires that were on it when I bought it. But it thru a chunk on the back tire. I may have run it at too low a psi. But both are OK I think on a budget. I got Dunlop E3s on her now and wont look back.
  5. I took a look at my clutch switch today, and it looks like its moving away from the grip etc. Is there a screw to hold it in place? Brake side sits flush like it should. Thanks.
  6. I love that sound. When its running right, mine makes the whirllie sound,,,
  7. I'm not in the great state of Texas. But, I think I'm going. I usually go to GZ on 9/11 But I think we are needed more in DC this year. We need to push back....
  8. Just did that. Its called "cable #3" The job was not that bad. You have to take off that side of the fairing and remove that radio etc. Follow the directions on this site, take your time. Good luck.
  9. Just me. But I would not want by kid on a VMAX. Let it go, get something more tame.
  10. Heres my trick to good sound on a old bike, Plus you can charge your stuff thru it. http://www.sears.com/scosche-fmtd8-digital-fm-transmitter-with-card/p-SPM7016850407?prdNo=7&blockNo=7&blockType=G7 Works well. Hours of mp3s. Some of the newer ones on ebay play videos. Pepboys has a cheap one for around 15 bucks I think. But this one is nice because you can push the button with gloves on:cool10:
  11. When I picked up my oil filter from NAPA today, they had their 15-40 on sale for 10 bucks a gal. Its made by Valvoline, So it should be good stuff. Used it before, and it was no diff from the other 15-40s. Total oil change 17 bucks, wix filter etc.
  12. I have mesh pants, They are good up til 85-90 Decent protection, Better than jeans and the mesh jacket I have is nice too. I think the white and silver stuff is cooler.
  13. And so it begins.....
  14. You could get lucky and have a blown fuse. But these bikes are old and the fuse holder is brittle and lame...lol The guys replace the whole thing. You can do a search if you need to do it later. There should be a air cap on the kickstand side to put in air, and a, damper dial next to it. try 35lb or less to see if it holds air. Dont over inflate! On the front shocks don"t go over 20lb If I remember right, Front seals will blow I'm told. Good luck.
  15. I ran all the 15-40 I could find a couple years ago. Bike shifts best with Rotela, next best were the Mobil and delo brands and the NAPA oil was ok too. But it likes the shell the best. I need a oil change now too. Gonna get the NAPA #ps4933 filter and a jug of R6.
  16. I'm using a FM transmitter that reads my USB drive with mp3s on it. And sends them to the radio. Works way better than the cass. I had that too. I paid 30 bucks but you can get them cheap if you ship it, to house. They are not real sturdy so handle with care, But hours of music, At:whistling: Walmart, but in the auto section...hiding.
  17. I got the ETX18L made by Deka, At Advanced Auto for like $100.00 bucks, I think its worth the extra 20 buck for this unit. Its a top shelf Batt. SkyDoc might be a better deal. Dont know.
  18. Yeah, I just got back on the road this last week. And now it's too hot to ride in the daytime. Morning ride the 4th was great. I like my new slipstreamer sheild and the #3 trottle cable was not as bad as I thought it would be to fix.
  19. Sad news indeed. RIP Brother.
  20. NAPA part# PS 4933 Just like the guy above told ya. Its a wix and comes with the rings.
  21. Very good tires. They are treating me well. Never had a problem with, wet, snakes, grates. etc. They feel very nice in the corners too.
  22. Im going to that area in June. I think I will check out that lookout. Sounds like a nice day ride from the Wellsboro area.
  23. I'm doing mine, pretty soon. Got to fix my vans windshield and get inspected first. Then the bike is gonna get fixed and a new windshield is in order there too. So I will keep and eye on this and others. So we can help each other if need be. Thanks MB for the tips you sent me.
  24. Its true. I for one, was gonna order from them. Not now, After what I have seen here. They should be afraid, very afraid!...LOL I'm off the road till june 1st.
