ok I'm starting to get worried about this guy. Did I miss something, and he is done? Nice story so far.

We just got the first real blast of cold , in the last couple days. Today I took the bike to a wedding 35 miles away. It was like 32 when I left and 29 coming home. My van has the spare tire on it cause I got a flat during the week. So I didnt want to get stranded up there in the cold. Plus, I have some pretty good cold weather gear so It was no problem. When I pulled into the parking lot on the bike, I could see people pointing and going WTF?LOL It did make me feel alittle bit bad ass. Bike ran cold, never really got up to temp where she likes it.

It looks to me, like a $2,000 bike if, you didn't have to do the fork seals. $1500 seems fair. I got mine off CL for $1500. Seller didn't know how to get the clutch working. I found this site and they showed me how to do it. I used the mity vac tool, and that bleeding method works best for me. Great bike and she does not owe me a dime. I do not think I will need any other MC at this point in my life.

That bike and rig, are super sweet bro. Thats a 3500-4000 dollar rig right here. Now I'm pissed off too.

Keep searching ebay every day. That's how I found one. Look at the pix closely. Don't buy a rusty one. And I second the idea of taking it to the shop and see what they can do. some welders are amazing. I took the one I got off ebay to the welding shop i like and had them touch it up. Was cheap and so far so good.

I dont like all the plastic stuff. UV and such turn these bikes into brittle, time bombs. Mech wise they are very, very good. Also, I dont like how my HD "friends" hate me cause my "jap" bike that weighs 780lb, smokes most of their sleds...lol! PS: They super hate how I got it foe $1500 bucks off CL, 10 years ago,and all told I put about a grand in it so far. So for $2500 I can go farther,faster and in more comfort then bikes that cost way more...lol love it.

OK, If you really stepped in it. And it sounds like you may have. I run "Crap Cleaner" first, make sure to run the registry tool too. Then run "malwarebytes" and /or "Super anti spyware". Also "windows defender", which you should already have. If you know how to get into "safemode" its best to run these progs from in there. If all else fails reinstall OS , if you have the disk. Yep, That's the sound of a happy motor right there. Man; these old bikes are a hell of a deal.

Ok, The bike has never runs this good. At times I had it close but ,she is purring like a kitten now. However with the new smoothness and power comes .... the whine. She is really loud now...lol Plus, I'm going in and out of the corners a little more sporty than before. So its like a different bike now. Taking it easy and not getting into racing around, and god she loves the slab...

Found it. I had to go to the shop manual to find it. Then it didnt work right, after fooling with it I got it to work. Yeah. Now I'm waiting on a speedo cable and she will be in the best shape in years. Speaker I bought have NO bass to speak of. Way better than stock thou.

Thanks Frank, I'll take a look at it again soon. Bikes running great, forks are holding air, feels nice and stable again. Wont stop raining now.....

Yep, end of summer and the weather gods know my bike is back on the road, cause its rained all week and weekend.

Cant find the wire....doh. Plus she had a little puddle under the waterpump. Its weeping a little over night. Stops as soon as i start her up. Stays dry all day. I guess I'm doing the waterpump next. I did not see a sending unit either. Thanks for the help. I'll find it sooner or later.

My temp gauge is not working now, its flat lined at the bottom, any clues. Bike runs great, no overheating, but I bet no fan if she does get hot in traffic, till I get that thing working.

The bike is running better than ever with the new wires and caps , air filter etc. I finaly put some cash into the bike and she sure did reward me. I know the bike is running right when I hear that whining sound, to me its music to my ears.

Thanks Blue, I had a local bike shop redo them. I watched a bunch of vids to see if I felt like I could do it. But, I felt it was better to have a pro do it. I should be back on the road by this afternoon.

I put the new ebay wires and caps on the bike and yeah, thats was money well spent. #4 wire was green and bad coil input was dirty too. No wonder that cyl was not firing all the time.

I thinks I saw the collars and hoses in the classifieds or for sale on this site for like cheap! Just last night or so.

I thought I was gonna be going for a test ride, but it got dark before I could get her buttoned up.

I put the forks, air hoses, fender, front wheel, brakes, etc on the bike. Wont be long now.Wires and caps should be here weds. Then on with the plastics and ride:900[1]:

Thanks for that air seal tip. I just put some Lucas no slip in the van. And saved the bottle with a bit in it. Think I should put a little of that on em?
