A bike salvage by me has 2 old Ventures is the yard. I will go look at them again to see if there is anything of use to us. I know one has a hitch, but its rusted. The other has a backrest, but it rough to say the least. I'll have pix......- 76 replies

I too have the same situation with my bike. Over the winter I want to hookup a CB and headsets. So I'll be watching to see how you do. Hoping to do the same. Good luck. Saw a couple CB and cables on fleabay this weekend. But I dont know what I need yet. Or if its worth the trouble to mess with a CB. Or, just go with something else:nanner:

I got em too. 4000miles so far and no problems. I guess any brand can have a fail. But ,I will keep an eye on them more so now. That looks like you could get them for a replacment.........

Glad you guys are allright. I took a long ride sunday, 5 mins from home I pull around a bend and there is Bambi in the middle of my lane, looking back for the others..... I saw some brown and thought it was a big dog and slowed, when I saw it was a deer I figured there must be more of em. I yelled at the deer and he went up the embankment and I continued on home. But, it was sorta a close one. Bottom line..... Watch for deer at all times and dont asume you can tool around free styling on them back roads. The extra time to react is nice to have. Once again, good job on keeping the bike up and not denting the wife up.....

I didn't decide to buy my 88 until I saw this site. I knew with the help of the good people here. I could get it straightened out.The seafoam tips have saved me from a troublesome carb cleaning. The step by step on taking the wheels off with the bike up on the center stand is great too.

I used to own 11 acres in Potter Co, And have done alot of driving in a cage up there. Did a little off road MCing in the woods. But I think the Vents gonna like it on the main roads. I'm right outside Phila, right next to the "blue route" and Rt1. I can hear the Busas' and such going bye late at night. Those guys are nuts.

Thursday I had off, and rode around NJ for a couple hours with my buddy who has the Sporty. Friday I was very busy at work. I'll hookup with you on another day. 322 is nice. Gonna be doing rt6 in the summer, maybe you want to head up with us from Reading.

Mine are doing fine for me. They were also well behaved in the rain. Still look new after 4000 miles.

I'm trying too find a sitter for my Bouvier. If the neighbor girl is gonna be home that weekend. I think I can get her to watch him. 2nd choice is to board him at the breeders kennel. Dont worry about grub for me, and if its nice out I will camp on the lawn. I think I would get there around 10:00Am if I leave at 4 AM> mingle>work on bikes>misc>nap>ride home.

Bad luck bud...sorry about the mishap. Gravel is a no-no with the Venture. I avoid it at all costs. Its really nice the wife didnt get banged up, in the fall. Thats something good.

Good work, I'm watching closely. I'm gonna do some radio/intercom stuff over this coming winter. Right now I run the mp3 thru a cass adapter. It works...not great. Tape skips/clicks and left speaker is lower in volume. I need bike to bike and music and intercom. In a perfect world they would all work together, but I think I will have to have the CB?....seperate. Well if I have a aux in, I can plug it in there. Good luck.- 76 replies

I went with a pair of motoboss air pants@ $80.00,which work well and a Firstgear MeshTex 3 jacket for $100.00 which is really nice. This setup seems to be pretty good and I hope to stay kool on the road.

These boots really turned out to be nice. I dont think they make them any longer. But If you see a pair for less than 100 bucks that fit you, buy them.

Wind breaker or light jacket for riding?
ddoggma replied to FL-Venture-Rider's topic in Watering Hole
I just bought a Firstfear MeshTex 3 jacket from Cyclegear. They have a B&M in my area and I have bought a few things there. The guy took off 30 bucks to make it $100.00 plus tax OTD. I saw it for less online but I was happy. Its nice, air goes right thru, has good protection and a wind breaking liner that you can take out. I dont see any reason not to be wearing this jacket all the time in the summer when on the bike. I have air pants and air jacket now and they are the bomb. I love the gear....lol ATT -
Glad your allright. Hope the bike makes it... They ALL are out to kill you! Watch em.
