clutch basket tool
Bobcatpat replied to Bobcatpat's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I want to install EFM auto clutch -
Could someone tell me or show pics of the proper clutch basket removal tool for a 2008 rsv?

I am considering an EFM auto clutch for my 2008 rsv. Anyone have one on their rsv? Do you like it? Was it an easy install?

Problem pulling or holding clutch lever?

I'm considering the EFM auto clutch. Anyone have any experience with one? -
I already know I could cut stock shield. I am not looking for alternatives. I just want to buy a low windshield. Please only respond if you have a low windshield to sell. Thanks.

Finally bought a 2008 venture. I'm looking for a low windshield. Anyone have one to sell? Must be like new. I don't want any defects. Thank you.

I finally bought a 2008 black cherry venture. Its mint except the saddle bag hinge emblems are gone. I would like to find some oem emblems to put back on. Anyone help?
-
I'm also interested in finding these decals as I am considering the purchase of an '08 venture that is missing these decals. Can you purchase the from yamaha? Price?

Im considering a used 08 venture and the hinge emblems are gone. I would like to put new emblems on as I think it looks nicer with them.

Does anyone know if you can buy new saddle bag hinge emblems only, and where? Price?

Motorkote comments and tracking??
Bobcatpat replied to Judes Dude's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
I'm curious... it's been a long time since anyone has discussed motorkote. Any updates or further progress? -
What made you fall in love with the venture? Could you describe exactly?

Did I mention that the flames are rediculous ? And only 1 color, black. I'm so discouraged in their progress, or lack thereof in this bike.
-
I think the 2010 venture is a total let down. A black bike with cheap looking flame decals applied. Give me a break. I would rather have any previous model year. I can't believe it.
-
personally I think black with the flames is a thumbs down. I want to see some nice colors.

The 2010 announcement is supposed to be tomorrow from what I have heard. I hope it is something really good. I would like to see a lower cg, maybe a bit more torque, an ipod connect with no tape player, and hopefully no chirping or otherwise crappy noises from the drivetrain. Maybe even a frame mounted fairing if they could make it look good on the bike.

I have had two separate dealers recently give me that date.

Im waiting for the announcement of the 2010 venture on September 8th. At this point I have been trying to buy the right bike, and have had a hard time. I figure I might as well wait 2 more weeks and see what the 2010 venture brings. Anyone have any insight on the 2010?

Sometimes I wonder if a Goldwing would be a better option just because it has heated seat, grips, and vents that can blow some heat on you in cold temps. Having not ridden a venture in cold weather yet, do you stay warm on a venture in cold weather? Or do you need to add some heated features to the venture to stay warm on it? Is it possible to add heat to a venture? Will the electrical system on the venture easily handle heated seats or grips?

I rode 4 hours to trade my suzuki c50 for an 07 blue venture. When I got to the dealer, the first thing I did was take the venture out for a test ride. The first thing I notice about a half mile down the road is the chirpping sound that so many talk about here. Brought it back to the lot, told the sales person about it... then they try to tell me they all do that, and it is normal. Finally the mechanic let me take his personal 07 venture out to try it, and voila, nice smooth quiet venture. So I left the bike there and rode back home. No deal!! The bike has already had the i basket replacement and the rear diff shimmed or aligned under warranty, and is apparently still noisy. So I just don't want to buy a bike that is not smooth and quiet. Why is it so hard to find the right one?? Hasn't someone found a real cure for this noise problem with these bikes? Im pretty frustrated at this point. I just want a nice trouble free blue venture with no issues.

Looks like I will be riding a new to me 07 venture home soon. It will be a 6 hour ride back home from the dealer. I want to know what is the correct pressure for the front and rear suspension, and the correct pressure for the front and rear tire? I am 6'-1" tall, 200#, very little cargo, and no passenger. Also, any other advice you may have as the venture is new to me. I have put a few miles on a couple ventures that I have looked at, so I know what to expect as far as handeling. Thanks.
