  1. Skid, What is your call and I'll add it in my log. Thanks.
  2. With the 5 year warranty, I feel better when something like this happens.
  3. Thanks bikenut for the assurance! When I was at Advance Auto, I noticed that 75W90 is more expensive than 80W90. Ride safe.
  4. Hi Ron. Thanks. I really do like the color scheme...of the blue and some black on the side of the tank, bags and fenders. I had the dealer add the light bar and the run/brake light on top of the trunk. That's about it...for the bike has everything that I want for a nice touring machine. When I started riding, I thought I will never have a radio on a bike and owning an '07 Venture was a dream come true. Keep in touch as I am going to be as frequent as I can in this forum, so we can coordinate a nice ride next season. I do ride all winter long, but I think I am going to stay local and commute to and from work. It is amazing that one can rack a lot of miles just commuting to work... BTW, how did you get 8K miles in just 2 months?
  5. I know Spark Plugs 1 and 3 are easy to get to (closest to the seat), but how do you easily get to plugs 2 and 4 (front-left and right)? Did you remove the tank?
  6. What time on 3.830 Mhz? If you guys are also on over the weekend, I may be able to join the QSO and introduce myself.
  7. So do we all say that SAE 80W90 Synthetic should be ok to use? I am at 540 miles and by the time Saturday comes I may be around 650 miles.. Thanks for all your response.
  8. I am set to change my oil and filter and the final drive gear oil. I bought Valvoline SAE 10W30 (4 qts) and gear oil Valvoline Synthetic. I know we can use GL3, GL4, or GL5 grade gear oil that is SAE 80 as stated by the 'MOM'. I got the Valvoline Synthetic Gear oil but it is SAE 80W90, GL5 instead if just saying SAE 80. Is this ok to use on mt '07 Venture?
  9. That whole can may be an overkill. Simply follow the directions on the can and you should be good to go.
  10. Hi Skid. Yes I am. I frequent 10m, 40m, and 75m and mostly on a weekend. How about you? We can set-up a time and frequency to have a QSO. 73 Mike
  11. You may be right. It just makes sense to me.
  12. This is what I ordered yesterday together with the Carbtune II. I would check the idle first with the bike nice and warm before synchronizing the carburetors. http://www.sjdiscounttools.com/esi325.html
  13. I can flat foot one side, but not quite flat foot on the other side. You are right and I am glad that I did not have the bike lowered in any way. Regards and ride safe.
  14. I agree. With the weight, I give the bike lots of respect. I cannot afford to loose concentration and lean it at a stop. Just like last night on my way home from work, they were paving parts of I-83N near the MD/PA line and it was a stop and go for about 15 minutes. One thing I like about this bike...even at slow speeds...it seems to be well balanced.
  15. I traded in my '06 Vulcan 900 with 21K miles. At first they did not want to take the trade since it came from eBay, but the dealership was so willing to work with me throughout the deal.
  16. +1 on that. The Venture looks great at every angle anywhere, anyplace. It surely is a head turner.
  17. I think it is permanent...no more looking back on another bike. I almost fell asleep on the ride home, it was sooooooo comfy.
  18. Thanks loehring. I do not regret at all by trading in my old bike for a Venture. These bikes are awesome to ride!
  19. The FRAM filter is reasonably priced and I intend to change oil and filter every 3K miles. If I want to pay extra, KN303 by K&N will be my next choice.
  20. This weekend is a good time for me to check bolts, since I am changing oil and final drive oil for the 1st 600 miles.
  21. My Venture is an '07 and I had it wired to stay 'ON' all the time on low or high beam. Not sure at this point how to re-wire to keep your aux light on all the time on high beam.
  22. I like SeaFoam and it is widely accepted by the motorcycle community. I've used it several times on my previous bike and on my tractor and snow blower. Just remember to read the label and make sure that you are putting the right amount with the number of gallons you have.
  23. There seem to be a lot of people who likes FRAM filters and there are also those who dislike FRAM filters. I've been lucky so far (knocking on wood) that I've been using FRAM for the longest time on my cars and previous bike. My '95 SHO that has a Yamaha engine has almost 200K and lived on FRAM filters from day one. My '08 Prius has had 3 oil changes already and is currently living on FRAM filter. I still have a couple FRAM PH6017A left in my garage and may use that on my first oil change on the Venture.
  24. +1. No need to use a torque wrench. Just hand tighten and a 1/4 turn with the oil filter wrench.
  25. Sorry for the dark pics. I will post some good ones sometime this week. For now, I am riding her to and from work.
