  1. Someone at home might be playing tricks on him.
  2. Very interesting... It may very well that bunch of Metzlers that you purchased from the same dealer are defective. I got this info from the Kawa forum and pertains to the ME880... "Directly from Metz web sight... Recommended Minimum Tire Pressures (PSI) Touring/Cruiser Alpha ME880 (MH, MT, MU tires) Solo 2 Up Light 2 Up Heavy Front 36 40 40 Rear 38 40 40 ME880 Solo 2 Up Light 2 Up Heavy Front 38-40 40-42 40-42 Rear 44-46 46-48 48-50 For bikes with the following rear tire sizes: 170/80-15, 180/70-15, 150/80-16, 160/80-16, 180/60R16, 180/70R16, 200/60R16, 240/50R16, 140/80-17, 160/70-17 D spec, 170/60R17, 210/50R17, 150/70-18, 180/55ZR18, 200/50R18, 210/40R18, 260/40R18, 280/35R18, 300/35R18, 260/35R21. ME880 (tires as listed above) Solo 2 Up Light 2 Up Heavy Rear 40 42 42." Can you mention again at what tire pressure did you keep your Metzler tires riding solo and 2 up.
  3. It could be motor oil...report back and hopefully it is not too serious.
  4. ok, will do that. Why didn't I think about that route.
  5. As CMIK had suggested, looks like lubrication will fix it. I don't hear any clinking on my ride, but if I notice it firsthand...the bike is going straight to a Yamaha shop to get it fixed. I am not sure how much of the clicking will hurt the bike, but the sooner you get that addressed the better. Glad to know these symptoms in advance.
  6. That sounds good. Yes, my Battery conditioner from SEARS puts out at least 2A on 12V trickle charge...good news at this point. Weather for the next 5 days is not conducive for riding, so I may plug in my conditioner by the end of this week and see the results.
  7. Does anyone have a link to this particular product? I have no idea at all what the Colortune is all about and what benefit it is on my Venture.
  8. Ruffy, Where did you buy set #1, #2, #3 of Metzler tires? Same place or different company?
  9. I did not get the chance to try it this afternoon...instead winterized my tractor and did a 30 minute ride. Anyway...what if I put the ignition on accessory and then plug in the battery conditioner...what is your take on this?
  10. I also have the same one...had it for 2 years now.
  11. When I connected my battery harness for my Gerbing heated clothing to the battery, I had to take off the battery connections. In my amazement, my clock and radio settings remained in tact. Looks like Yamaha may have installed a small battery within to keep the settings on my '07...not sure though. I am really tempted to trickle charge my bike through the 12V outlet located on the left side fairing. My trickle charger is from SEARS and they call it a 'Battery Conditioner'. It does have a yellow and green light to indicate full capacity and/or trickle charging for a minimal 2A. If my battery conditioner will not be able to keep up with the charging and it constantly remains in yellow mode...this will verify my curiosity that it is not possible to trickle charge through the 12V outlet...this afternoon will be interesting and I hope I don't burn anything on my Venture...
  12. I have made my final decision as to what I will do for the rear lighting. I decided to purchase the HD Light Kit Part # 68230-97B (Part # 68230-97A is obsoleted). This will also dress up the rear pretty good and may just stay with incandescent bulbs for awhile and then upgrade to LED lights for the tail light kit in the future which is available through Kuryakyn.
  13. Maybe you know...is it ok to trickle charge the battery from the 12V accessory plug located on the fairing? Someone responded that the plug is electrically off, when the ignition key is on off position. But what if I put it in accessory and plug in my trickle charger that way...will this work? Has anyone attempted this route on their Venture?
  14. That is awesome. Thanks for posting pics and the video. My ride already has an LED Run/Brake wing light on the rear above the trunk...as I think more about lighting up the rear and looking at different options, I am now looking closely at a pair of HD Tail Lights (Part#68230-97A) that may serve as Run/Brake Lights. This route may be a pricey decision, so LED clusters may still be my best cost effective way on lighting up the rear of my Venture.
  15. I've seen that Electronic flasher in their website and it looks like there is no splicing required just plug-and-play...simply adjust the rate of flash to your own taste. If I can use the dynamic clusters with the electronic flasher kit - that may be a nice option. Honestly, CD has too many options to try for the Venture. It is getting harder to decide at this point.
  16. I am in contact with Custom Dynamics now and am trying to eliminate the need for Load Equalizers. Looking at the Dynamic Clusters and LED Tail light...the only problem is that there is no listing for the 1157 replacement for the clusters...they have the 7507 type which I think is different than the 1157's. Am still awaiting an answer from them. IMO and with the product description and installation, the Dynamic Cluster LED's may not need the LE's.
  17. I see that these clusters are not DOT approved. Will the cops give you a hard time?
  18. Those clusters look very nice, but honestly...I am not too thrilled with the idea that I have to hook wires to the existing running wire and brake wire. How much more involved will the wiring connections be? How about your front Amber running and signal lights? What did you use? The rear running light and brake housing? Did you need any load equalizers?
  19. Sounds good...I think I can live with a slightly faster blink rate and not loose my auto cancelling turn signal and Hazard flasher capability. However, not so sure about what exactly I need to get for my '07 Venture for the rear running and brake light as well as for my front LED running and signal Amber + Rear Amber Turn signals. Do you have part #'s for me to look up?
  20. That is not good...I may just opt for the LED run/brake light...maybe...this will require me to think about it. I wish I can have them all LED's without the Load Equalizer including turn signals.
  21. I've seen 1156 Amber LED and 1157 Red LED available through chromeglow.com. They also mentioned that if your LED's blink faster than normal, a 'Load Equalizer' is required. I am thinking of getting them and you are right it is very pricey ($20.00+ bucks for each). However, do you know if the Venture will need a load equalizer. If it does, I may skip on this idea.
  22. I like the chromeglow link. This is a great christmas gift for my Venture.
  23. That is exactly what I am looking for. Thanks:97:
  24. I am searching in Cruiser Customizing with no luck...will try a different site later. Thanks.
