    What is your mpg at this time? As mentioned before, lugging the engine will or may hurt the engine and at the same time you are actually using more gas than normal.

    I am not sure what you mean by revving too high at 80 mph. To me, the Venture sounds just fine and happy while cruising at 80 mph. I have not heard of any mods done on the Venture, but I may be wrong.

    Looking at the pics, I think it does put a little bit of stress on the tire. I am not sure how much of a stretch a tire can withstand and not compromise its integrity. It may very well be good for certain tires only.

    Don't worry. You still have a couple of days to think about it. I don't eat a lot of Turkey and may opt for Chicken breast and sweet potato (my favorite) and stuffing.

    It was 27 degrees this morning and could not do anything outdoors around the house. Mother nature is telling us to be ready 'cause winter will be difficult to bear.

    I agree. I only trust my eyes, when it comes to synching carbs on my Venture. If you really plan to keep your Venture for a long time, it is a must have in your garage. Peace of mind is priceless.

    Glad to hear that you are also enjoying cold morning rides. I ride to and from work with Gerbings plugged in and everything feels nice and comfy. Do keep an eye on black ice and take it easy...I take mostly main routes day or night.

    Does not look like self-defense to me. He got his gone from the house and waited for the biker to pass by as he stood at the end of his driveway. He is in a big mess.

    +1000. My co-worker has a RSTD and he will need to have his carb synched pretty soon. Can't wait to do it for him.

    I am new in the Venture world and before I reached 600 miles last month, I decided that I will really need something to synch my carbs long term. It is recommended to synch carbs every oil change and the first time I did it, it turned out not to be too bad after all. I was also surprised that my carbs were really off at 600 miles. I got myself a RPM meter to adjust idle and the Carbtune Pro...over time I am sure that it will pay for itself instead of having the dealership do it for you. I guarantee you, if you own a Venture...a Carbtune meter is a must to have. Ride safe.

    I can't imagine having pegs on my Venture. I guess there are those riders who own a bike with pegs and are begging to have floorboards for comfort and control and vise versa. Somebody mentioned about the Goldwing with pegs...I thought of the same thing as well. Perhaps it all comes down to which ones are you most used to having...but the long haul ride may dictate who wins between pegs and floorboards.

    What if I keep the radio off and ignition on accessory, is this ok?

    I do have a auto trickle charger and trickle charge my other car through the cigarette lighter plug. Can I also plug in my trickle charger via my Venture's 12V lighter plug?

    If that was me, I wouldn't pass on that offer. Take the offer before he goes back to Alabama.

    I am not too familiar with my radio controls either, but there may be a 'mute' function somewhere in there.
