I just had a feeling that NASCAR had thought about this before it is discussed here at VentureRider.org. I check my car tires and bike tires religiously every other week. I don't know if I am ready to add Nitrogen on my tires...perhaps once the idea is widely practiced by motorist, I will go ahead and follow the rest.

This is the RAM Mount model that I found online for the handle bar...RAP-B-166-2-GA25U http://www.ram-mount.com/index_files/ramb149zga25.jpg

I agree with you. Some people take off their GPS from the holder in the car, but they usually put it in the glove compartment or under the driver seat. If your car is parked in a bad spot, it is easy target and one may end up with a broken glass window.

Rick, Where can I order a 'Ram' mount for my Garmin 255W? There are mounts for about $20 bucks, but if the RAM is a better product and will securely hug my GPS on the bike then that is the way to go.

I got my Garmin from Santa and currently looking for a motorcycle mount. There are several listed on Ebay, but I would like to know what kind of motorcycle mount works the best for my particular Garmin model.

260K miles is awesome! I really want to see my Venture hit 100K miles someday. Right now, I only have apx. 2000 miles.

It does not matter to me whatsoever. Either way will do. Happy Holidays or Merry Christmas is just perfect for me. What is most important to me is the thought that was conveyed from family and friends. Enjoy the Holiday Season with loved ones. Regards.

I just verified this afternoon that I can actually trickle charge my Venture from the 12V Accessory plug. My Battery Conditioner is set at 12V/2A trickle charge and it worked well. As mentioned previously, the 12V plug is Power Off with the Key Off. I simply put the ignition into accessory and the charger does its job in keeping the battery 'topped off'. Hooking up another wiring harness together with my Gerbing harness on the battery is not an option at this time. I didn't want to crowd the terminals and I am glad that the Venture has its 12V plug built in.

With so many moving parts on that vehicle, keeping up with the maintenance can be very involved and expensive IMO. It still amazes me. Time will tell, when car manufacturers will be able to apply that technology in cars. I don't mind commuting across the Chesapeake Bay in Maryland.

Air boxes ????????

Looks like you guys want to go faster. My Venture already feels like a jet...with the mod the Venture might go faster than the speed of sound. -
Absolutely Awesome! At first I thought this can't be true, when he started to get into the water.... That will fit in perfectly in a James Bond film.

Keep the heater running and have a safe trip. Happy Holidays.

It is 23° here and a Wind Chill of 8°F here in SE PA. Too cold for a ride.

I am very curious to see what my carbs would look like on my next oil change around 3600 miles and I am 1600 miles away. It may take awhile, because the weather has not been cooperating lately. The Carbtune Pro is a true must have, if you own a Venture.

What is your final synch, higher rpm or lower idle?
-
...Don't forget to post pics. Personally, I like the beefy look of the 150 and it feels alright for me even at low speeds.

How many miles ago since the last carb synch on your bike? I think 33 mpg is on the low side for the Venture, unless you are really aggressive on the throttle.
-
The first time I synched my carbs, I set my rpm at around 1000. Make sure that your engine is nice and warm and then synch the carbs. For a first timer, it took me less than 30 minutes to get everything where I want it to be. I have never done synching my carbs are a higher rpm, since it was not mentioned in the write-up that I got from this site.

You will definitely love the Venture. The whine that members had complained about is fixable. Not all members report the same symptoms and help is just a thread away. I do not notice any whine on my Venture yet, so I am keeping a close ear...the 5 year factory warranty will give you peace of mind. Have fun shopping for your new Venture.

When you said that your bearing on the rear wheel went out, what kind of symptoms did you notice? Just curious. -

How long would a windshield last on your bike before they replace it? So far so good on my end and I don't want to open up the fairing yet until I really have to. Three cracked windshields??? I hope your dealership can narrow down the cause of the problem and have it resolved and fixed. Going back and forth to the shop can also be a nuisance. Do you have any pics of your cracked windshield? -
Glad to know that even at 26K, the swing arm bearings still had lots of grease. As I am just imagining how much involved this job is going to be...looks like a major tear down. There is a dealership in our area that offers pre-paid maintenance on bikes, so I may have to look at that option down the road.
