  1. Now that you winterized your bike, I think this winter will be warmer than usual. lol Heal fast and get back to riding soon. Regards.
  2. @Steve S Glad to hear you were able to ride. That is a start. Baby steps...5 miles will turn into 10 miles then to 50 miles and so on. On this end, I've been riding a lot and leaving my truck and van parked at the house. You also did what I used to do in the past and I let my wife do the organizing around the house, etc. This way she is happy the way she wants it and I get to do what I love to do in the garage, etc. Ride safe.
  3. Nice to hear that you got it running. I was a little skeptical on the situation, but you got it started. How will you tackle the gas leak? Should you empty that tank first then patch?
  4. Good afternoon fellow riders! Hope you are having a great weekend. I'll take a ride down to the gym this afternoon and burn calories. No grass cutting today. Ride safe.
  5. No doubt the GW is a great bike. Just like you @bpate4home, I am only 5'5" and got very used to my '07 and it didn't take a long time getting used to my '18. I chose these bikes having the best of both worlds at least in my case. Comfort and luggage space are very important since I always carry around my backpack with an 18" laptop everywhere I go. I am sure you are loving your '18 and much as I do. The weather has been much colder in the am this week that is why I call for my SVTC to perform well with her heated seat and grips. Next week, our temps will go up to 78°F (can you believe that) and it is RSV's turn to serve me well. I wonder how much of a preparation you must do on those Iron Butt ride? You have a very capable bike and must be too. Good Evening to All!
  6. Sorry to learn about your 2nd Gen. You already know this. The bike can be replaced...GW is coming soon.
  7. @Chaharly I can't wait to see pics of your new GW once you decide to get it. Keep enjoying your '88 Venture. I don't have the 1st Gen, but I am a proud original owner of an '07. She is a keeper. Nice assessment on your ride comparison.
  8. @sleepy2 A free grass cutter is a huge win. Always nice to have a backup cutter.
  9. That is one of the most expensive bulb I've heard and it is not an LED. Despite the price, I do hope that it works out for you.
  10. Wow. That tractor is antique. Honestly, I did not know they were named Sears before Craftsman got in the picture. I do hope you can still find parts for that tractor.
  11. Good Morning to all. It is 40 degrees and the ride is perfect. Watch out for deer. They are all over the place and I've seen three road kills along the way.
  12. Charleston is a beautiful place for sure. I hope to be able to return there sometime in the near future. It has been a long time since our last vacation in SC. Enjoy the warmer temps.
  13. Good Evening to all! It was quite windy today, but temperature hovered around the 50's. Cool morning rides and it is time to take out the chaps. Heat is a must have throughout the week ride to and from work. @etcswjoe Hopefully you can revive that beautiful '99. Those bikes don't like to sit too long in the garage.
  14. Pleasant Monday morning to all. Cooler and drier air is coming our way. A few days ago, I was able to install a new battery on the bike and I feel much better now, If you will ride, be safe.

    New Math

It happens almost everywhere. From groceries to large retail place, what it says on the shelf may not reflect what the cash register is going to tell them...so I am always vigilant looking out for my wallet. I must say the tire deal is just about right, but I can easily dispose of the tire to save on the disposal fee. As far as tires are concerned, I agree that it is much cheaper online for motorcycle tires. Have fun working on your bike.
  16. Good Afternoon to all Venturerider members. Enjoy the weather. Cooler temperatures is coming our way next week. I guess I will be using the SVTC more since it has heat. Ride safe.
  17. Good Morning to All! Have a great weekend.
  18. Looking good! Ride Safe.
  19. 2019 is not bad at all. Personally, once my batteries age beyond 4 years I start thinking about replacing them before it is too late. Winter is coming. Be prepared. @bpate4home you did the right thing.
  20. Good Afternoon to all. Hope everyone is having a good Thursday afternoon. Well this morning, I started the SVTC and it didn’t sound good at all. It almost did not start. It has a 4 year old battery in it so for my peace of mind…I decided to get her a new one. It has a 2 year warranty good for 4 or 5 years. Nice chilly ride, but the heat felt good.
  21. Good Afternoon to All! Another ride day to and from work. Taking advantage of the nice weather in our area. When I say this, I feel real sad thinking about the situation in Florida and the impending Hurricane. The worst is yet to come tonight for them. At least my Aunt and cousins from Sarasota had left the area to safer territory. Hang in there Florida. If you are riding. Ride Safe.
  22. I have a feeling shops may have a special tool for these bulbs to make it look like there is nothing to it.
  23. Good evening to all! Another day of riding.
  24. Floridians along the path of the Hurricane are currently evacuating as we speak. This not only puts fear to those affected it also disrupts daily life activities. Hang in there, Florida. Prayers and safety to all!
  25. Nice Ride. Enjoy thousands of miles on your Harley.
