  1. Today, there is just too many things in the news regarding the virus and efforts to slow the spread. Pa. Gov. advise Pennsylvanians to limit/avoid Malls, Movies, etc. .... Maryland Public Schools will be closed for 2 weeks starting next Monday...and the list goes on and on and on. The only thing that will stop me from riding is the weather, but we should all continue to monitor the corona virus situation and recognize the ongoing uncertainty and concern that it is causing. Ride Safe and Wash Your Hands for at least 20 seconds.

I don't have experience with the Tour Master, but I have the Shinko 777 installed front and rear on my '07. So far, I have about 8K miles on the rear and looks like it still has another 5K to 6K miles left. The front - I had just installed them a few months ago. Overall, I've been very happy with the ride. Good grip and much quieter than my previous Bridgestones.
  3. Very nice. Congrats on your new ride.
  4. Belated Happy Birthday, Don!

  6. Hello. Earlier this afternoon , I contacted a friend who is also the Yamaha Field Service Advisor East region and he stated that I should blame it to my gauge. I will have to take a closer look at the sidewall of the tire and determine what is its max pressure rating. Also today, I requested my fellow worker (very good ham radio operator and we have known each other for years) who works in our calibration department to check the accuracy of my tire gauge. He is very happy to take a look at the gauge as soon as possible. I’ll let you guys know what transpired. [emoji1696] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. I know the tire gauge I bought from Advance auto years ago has not been calibrated. When I fill my tires to 41 psi using my gauge as recommended by Yamaha, the bikes infotainment sys indicates 44 psi on both tires. Is my gauge off and is giving me false reading or could it be my SVTC sensors. Perhaps I trust the bikes sensor in this case. Your thoughts....? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. I've had my '07 RSV since she on had 2 miles on the odometer. 13 years later, I still have to be very mindful of her every time I reach a stop. I carry lots of stuff to and from any destination, so I am also carrying extra weight. One thing I always remember to do is to make sure that I have good recommended tire pressure front and back. Slow speed riding is not an issue, but I should always have the presence of mind that my 2nd Gen RSV is truly top heavy. On the other hand, when I jump on the SVTC I don't experience any of the top heaviness on the bike - even if I have to load the bags. Switching back and forth requires my full attention. I think they are completely two different bikes. IMO, the 2nd Gen RSVs are still bullet proof and have lots and lots of potential.
  9. That bike is truly special. The very first one to be made and still looking good.

    Hey all!

Hello there! Riding season is just around the corner.
  11. After all the rain yesterday and almost all morning, I felt I had to do something. Roads finally dried down and so I ran errands on my '07 RSV and rode it for only 10 miles. So glad I got to ride her this afternoon. Also today, I rode the SVTC to work. Plan to wipe them down tomorrow. Ride Safe out there.
  12. Yes. Just like in the picture. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. I have the J&S jack and I’ve used it for a long time since I bought my ‘07 RSV. With the Carbon One adapter, the jack will easily lift your RSV. You can even remove both wheels with no problem. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. I did my first cold weather ride on the SVTC. It was 28°. I really loved the heated grips and seat. However, I have to adjust the low setting and set the heat for low and mid temps. The grips were just right. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Rox Risers is one of the best mods you can do on a bike. I’ll never take them off. [emoji1303] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. I wonder what Carbon One is working on nowadays for the Venture community.. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. No center stand, Condor. It might be a matter of time, Carbon One or someone else may fabricate something for the SVTC. I will patiently wait for that. [emoji362]A table lift is worth exploring for any SVTC owner. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Recover well and soon. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. For my '07, I go ahead and replace the fuel filter every year regardless of miles. It does not really cost a lot and for peace of mind.
  20. I agree. I have no problem with my '07 as well, when jacking it up using Carbon One's adapter. It is very stable. With the TC, the frame is flat underneath so I think an adapter might not be designed for that and the jack fits perfectly on the bottom. You have the right idea though using straps for peace of mind. I will have to be careful and re-position the jack properly once again on the TC. The 2nd Gens and TCs are completely different. Still lots to learn.
  21. My jack is already very close to the end of the frame towards the rear. I really can tell there is more weight there. I’ll determine other means the next time I go under. [emoji851] Thank You.
  22. This morning, I rode the TC for about half an hour and then parked in the garage and let it sit for about 10 minutes. As you guys had told me, I now have too much on the bike. I took off about .3 qt of oil and rechecked the level. It is now in the full and no longer over filled. (Checking the bottle I used to fill - I had only added .4 of oil). Glad you mentioned this to me. On a side note, it was a breeze taking off the seat now that I know what to take off. [emoji4]. The 30 minute ride was AMAZING! This bike has so much torque with a very slight squeeze of the throttle and I am only in Touring mode. I am afraid to put it in Sport mode. The back rest kept me from flying off the seat. [emoji4]. I shall respect the power of the TC. Ride safe all. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Thanks for the advice. I’ll check it tomorrow. Worst case, if it is overfilled, I will drain some oil assuming from either one of the two drain hole. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Will do recheck it once again. According to the manual, the dipstick does not have to be screwed in when checking the level. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. Hello Don. Yes. I started the bike first and let it run for a little over 5 minutes then I turned off the engine and let it sit for a few more minutes. The bike is upright, when I checked the oil without screwing in the dipstick and it was just touching the very bottom. I added half a quart then let it run again for a few minutes then let it sit again for a few. Oil level now is just below the full hash mark. I’ll ride it tomorrow then double check the level once again. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
