  1. Took 15 minutes to take off the wheel. Took it to the shop to mount new tire then reinstalled. Got close to 17K on the Bridgestones. Rear already has the 777 and I am satisfied. Ride Safe. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Have fun on your project, made2care. If it is true what people say about this coming winter, I'd definitely spend more time in the garage and get it done before the next riding season starts.
  3. I left the bike at home simply because I woke up late. Took the van instead that has not been used for a few days. These nice rain free days has to continue. Ride safe.
  4. Skydoc_17, this makes a lot of sense. [emoji851]
  5. Very Nice quality tool. Because of this post, this reminds me to synchronize my carbs. [emoji848]
  6. 73 de N3FOL Too!
  7. So for the last 2 weeks, I have been looking very hard for a RSTC but have not really found the best priced TC out there. Sales people are willing to help, but at the end of the day the 'Out The Door' price is almost close to the full price of the bike. Now I have decided that I will stop shopping online and let mother Winter set in and wait for the year '2020'. They say it is best to shop for bikes in the winter to get the best price, but that remains to be seen. My '07 RSV has still a lot of life left on her. She only has 58K miles and running great and I couldn't be happier. For now, I will simply sit back and relax and enjoy reading more about the Pros and Cons of the TC. Ride Safe everyone.
  8. I am thinking the bike just needs a little TLC during its break-in period. FWIW, I've noticed some hard shifting on my Gen II RSV on some days but not all. (I know, the RSV and the TC and completely different bikes) However, this can also be an indication that my RSV will need an oil change soon.
  9. Glad you are back once again. Ride forever.
  10. I guess we can also ask, 'When is it safe to ride'? I may ride with temps down to 20°F as long as frost is not on the ground. Day time riding at 20°F with lots of Sun is perfect. Night time riding at 20°F can be tricky. If I know that it will be dark by the time I get home, I usually take my van to be safe.
  11. I think it is just normal to have some oil at the end of that hose. Your hose does look a lot cleaner than mine. No worries there IMO.
  12. IMO, it is a great show bike only. It sure is a work of art.
  13. Thanks for your input. Really happy that you are enjoying your TC. I really like the design and features of the bike, despite being belt driven. Wonder how long will those belts last on the TC before it needs to be replaced. As far as the Rox risers, I am curious as to why you would need one. On my '07, I've never had any mods on the bar and my riding position is just fine and being 2 inches shorter than you. My RSV will need a new front tire soon which I already have ordered online. This will give me a good excuse to stop by our local Yamaha shop and physically sit on their TC that they have in their inventory.
  14. FWIW, I have 58000 miles and still on my original brake pads on my front. My brakes are just fine and strong. Perhaps make sure you are pressing the lever close to the end for maximum press when needed.
  15. That is true. I really am disappointed with Purolator. I have been a steady customer for them until the threads will not line up anymore. I ended up with 2 useless Purolator oil filters. At any rate, I switched to the FRAM ph6017 motorcycle filter and have been using it with no complaints at all.
  16. I have 777s too and they are very good quality tires. No complaints.
  17. Not sure, if it was already mentioned...I've been using Shinko 777 on my '07. I have 7000 miles on them and I love it.
  18. My deepest condolence. Stay strong and carry on. God Bless You. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Have fun travelling. I wish you all the best.
  20. I have the J&S Jack that I use on my '07 RSV and also have the 'Carbon One' lift. Will I be able to use these items on the new '18 Star Venture?
  21. Thanks for your feedback on the TC, Freebird. I have an '07 and never really did any mods on the handlebars and height of the bike. I stand 5'5" and I find the RSV to be just perfect for me without any problems on my sitting position. I am now very curious as to how the TC will feel now with a lower seat. The lower seat does sound exciting to me since I am not a tall guy, but this remains to be seen. There is a local Yamaha store here in York, Pa. and they have the '18 Gray but it does not have the package options. When I get the chance this coming weekend, I really would like to sit on it and see how it feels in person. If I have the choice in color, I really like the Raspberry one. At any rate, the shifting sounds like a little different on the RSV and I 100% agree to you to take it easy on the RPMs as you are breaking it in. I always drive my newer vehicles and give it a much longer break-in period to say the least. If one day I get the TC, I probably will give it a longer break-in period...about 10K miles or so....LOL The more I keep on looking at pictures of the new Star Venture, the more I am falling in love with it. However, I've read some post here that some owners are having problems with the Navigation system and some minor oil leaks. This I'll have to read on a different thread. I'll keep in touch and again, thanks for the input. Ride Safe.
  22. Do I have a choice? Not really. I fully support whatever the admins say. It does makes sense to me.
  23. In a heartbeat.
  24. Hi Freebird. I read that those TC models have a lower seat - at least 2 inches? I am ready to get my Star Venture and actively shopping around.
  25. Dear Santa, I'll make it short and SWEEEEETTTTT! I simply like a fully loaded 2018 Yamaha Venture. Thank You. N3FOL
