I am excited!!!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

There are a good number of riders that want to try the loud rumble on their bikes. Then after a few years or so, they go back to stock mufflers. I prefer the latter.
-
Yep. I have stock pipes on my ‘07 ever since she had 1 mile on the odometer. To put in perspective, you’ll be able to enjoy your music as you ride. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I also try to keep an eye on sales from Napa. On this end, I only like the oil and I have my preference of oil filter. Thanks for the heads up. I’ll be on my way to Napa in the morning. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

It has been a constant lookout every time I ride. I ride 4 to 6 times per week and the sight of road debris on side roads and highways are just never ending. From 'road kills' to 'peeled off rubber tires' (I think they are called crocodiles...) to miscl. stuff, we always have to be on the look out. Two of my most recent close call on road debris is a construction barrel on the fast last along a 2 lane interstate coming to a curve and there it was...right in the middle of the fast lane at 6 in the morning. The other one was when I made a left turn towards the ramp...there it was, 2 nails that looked like roofing nails. This could have ended my ride for the day. Fortunately, my ride to work today is uneventful. Ride Safe.

I always have to remind myself before and after each and every ride. "Just Let It Go." Stay on the safe side and enjoy more and more rides along the way.

I am also looking forward to do a weekend ride in the PA area, but I may have to wait for 2 or 3 more weeks before we can see beautiful Fall colors in the mountains. Fall is for sure my favorite season of the year. Glad you had a great time.

First of all, I got to have gloves when I ride. Heated grips can be hot enough to the touch.

I wonder if the video was even presented in court, if there was one.

I have a feeling this coming winter is going to be a lot more snow event, which does not sound good since I ride all year long.

It is true. No matter how long you’ve been riding, I still learn something new every day. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

There are a lot of aftermarket grill guards out there for the 2nd gens. It might be an easier install, if you still can find a genuine Yamaha grill guard for sale. I am also in search of one. [emoji40] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I ride all year round over here in the Md/ Pa area. My cutoff temperature is below 15°F. This Coming winter may be a good time to work on my ‘07 RSV. Have fun doing maintenance during the cold months. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I always wait a few seconds before I go, when stopped at a traffic light. You just never know who might want to beat the Red light. Even to this day with so many modern bluetooth technology already factory installed in cars and trucks on the road, I still see people using their phones while driving. Very dangerous for all of us.
-
To me, it is too cold to ride if there is frost on the ground and sustained winds of 10 to 15 mph which might feel like 10°F or below. Winter is Coming!

Glad to hear you got your problem squared away. Ride on and Ride safe.

Congrats on reaching the 100,00 milestone. I have 60,000 miles on my '07 and still riding it back and forth to work as much as I can. I am the original owner and have never adjusted my valves. These bikes just run solid. Simply rode to and from work today.

We should all be aware as to who are the Top 5 'Intellectual Property Stealers'. Thanks for keeping us safe here on Venturerider forum.

I didn't go to Sturgis and probably will never make it to that place in my lifetime. I'm not just on that level. At any rate, it is always possible to contract COVID-19 from the area with large gatherings almost everywhere. However, the data and information that I read may or may not be accurate. Too many fake news out there, so I have to do my own assignment and dig for the facts. If people ever test positive, the right thing to do is to quarantine yourself and your close contacts. We are still in the midst of a pandemic.

Your quick action recognizing something does not look right really saved the day. Very glad she is doing well.

I changed the oil on the SVTC and then gave the '07 RSV a complete wipe down. Rode to and from work today despite the humidity. It was perfect.

What tools do you carry? I did a review of CruzTools Metric kit
N3FOL replied to VentureFar's topic in Watering Hole
On this end, I carry the supplied tool kit for the bike + a set of small sockets + a set of allen wrenches and standard size flat & philips head screw driver. On longer trips, I will carry tire plugs and a small compressor. All these I hope I don't have to use while away from home. -
With the SVTC, we don’t have to worry about coolant change. I am thankful for that. Oil, tires and brakes are the major ones to do regularly and as needed. Plugs, I think I can also handle that. The next thing I have to learn down the road is the belt adjustment once I replace my rear tire someday. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

...so I was able to change the oil on the SVTC. It took me longer than expected, but I was able to get it done with no hiccups. At 4046 miles, the old oil sure did look pretty dirty and it was time. I managed to find an old gray pan in the garage that is low enough to place under the bike to collect oil. I’m good for another 4K miles. Also, I was able to use a Toyota filter remover on the SVTC and this made it easy to remove the oil filter. 2 qts in the crankcase and 3.2 qts in the oil pan as instructed. Here are some photo ops. Ride safe. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
