  1. I have the J&S jack and I’ve used it for a long time since I bought my ‘07 RSV. With the Carbon One adapter, the jack will easily lift your RSV. You can even remove both wheels with no problem. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. I did my first cold weather ride on the SVTC. It was 28°. I really loved the heated grips and seat. However, I have to adjust the low setting and set the heat for low and mid temps. The grips were just right. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Rox Risers is one of the best mods you can do on a bike. I’ll never take them off. [emoji1303] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. I wonder what Carbon One is working on nowadays for the Venture community.. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. No center stand, Condor. It might be a matter of time, Carbon One or someone else may fabricate something for the SVTC. I will patiently wait for that. [emoji362]A table lift is worth exploring for any SVTC owner. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Recover well and soon. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. For my '07, I go ahead and replace the fuel filter every year regardless of miles. It does not really cost a lot and for peace of mind.
  8. I agree. I have no problem with my '07 as well, when jacking it up using Carbon One's adapter. It is very stable. With the TC, the frame is flat underneath so I think an adapter might not be designed for that and the jack fits perfectly on the bottom. You have the right idea though using straps for peace of mind. I will have to be careful and re-position the jack properly once again on the TC. The 2nd Gens and TCs are completely different. Still lots to learn.
  9. My jack is already very close to the end of the frame towards the rear. I really can tell there is more weight there. I’ll determine other means the next time I go under. [emoji851] Thank You.
  10. This morning, I rode the TC for about half an hour and then parked in the garage and let it sit for about 10 minutes. As you guys had told me, I now have too much on the bike. I took off about .3 qt of oil and rechecked the level. It is now in the full and no longer over filled. (Checking the bottle I used to fill - I had only added .4 of oil). Glad you mentioned this to me. On a side note, it was a breeze taking off the seat now that I know what to take off. [emoji4]. The 30 minute ride was AMAZING! This bike has so much torque with a very slight squeeze of the throttle and I am only in Touring mode. I am afraid to put it in Sport mode. The back rest kept me from flying off the seat. [emoji4]. I shall respect the power of the TC. Ride safe all. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Thanks for the advice. I’ll check it tomorrow. Worst case, if it is overfilled, I will drain some oil assuming from either one of the two drain hole. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Will do recheck it once again. According to the manual, the dipstick does not have to be screwed in when checking the level. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Hello Don. Yes. I started the bike first and let it run for a little over 5 minutes then I turned off the engine and let it sit for a few more minutes. The bike is upright, when I checked the oil without screwing in the dipstick and it was just touching the very bottom. I added half a quart then let it run again for a few minutes then let it sit again for a few. Oil level now is just below the full hash mark. I’ll ride it tomorrow then double check the level once again. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. I’ll check out the Fram 7317 for my ‘07 RSV. Looks promising. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Got her registered last week. Checked tire pressure and filled up to 41 psi. Added half quart of oil. She got a nice bath. Truly photogenic. Ride safe everyone. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. So I got the chance to work on the bike for a couple of hours and learn how to properly take things apart. I finally had the guts to jack it up Last Friday night and I observed that there is a whole lot more weight on the rear. The reason being... I have a J&S jack and I can tell that the jack had more weight to support towards the rear of the bike as opposed to the front. As I was lifting it up, the front wheel is already 3 inches off the ground while the rear tire is just about to clear the ground. With this, I decided to add additional lift using a car jack positioned in the center of the rear of the frame for peace of mind. I really need to lift the bike off the ground in order to clean the rear wheels. Does anyone have another way to lift the TC safely ? Sorry - I get carried away taking too many pics. 17. I am not sure, but there might be a reason why Yamaha engineers did it that way. On the 2nd gens, the rear brake rotor is on the right while the ‘18 TC rear brake rotor is on the left side. It makes it easier to access the side without the rotor so that is where the angle is pointed to. ...my guess. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. I was working on my bike last night and realized the rear angled stem is facing to the right not like my '07 RSV that face left of the bike. Because of the nice design of the front wheel spoke, I found out that it made it easier to check and fill air with the amount of space in between spokes. FWIW, 41 psi on front and rear is one the highest psi I've seen on a bike tire as recommended by Yamaha.
  19. It is simply fun to ride. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. I will keep in touch on this one. MD sounds good to me.
  21. Hi Don. Finally got settled in after a mellow crawl along the Pa Turnpike. It was a good decision to spend the night in Ohio instead of pushing it back home with all the rain and night driving. You did an excellent job on tying down the bike and it never went loose. Thank You very much. I am now prepping to give the bike an overall wash as we speak. 39° this morning, so I am safe to play with the water hose. Thank You guys for your posts. I promise to take care of the bike and hopefully get to ride with some of our venture riders some day. Catch you guys later and I’ll post pics after it is all cleaned up. 22. I am at that point already, but tomorrow looks very promising for a ride to and from work.
  23. I pray for your wife’s speedy recovery. Glad she is doing much better. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. I am almost to that point and cold air and bad weather will be in our area for a good duration. I am hoping for a better February. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. Good Morning. Another warm spell this week. A safety check late this morning on the bike then taking it to work today. Ride safe all. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
