I ride all year round over here in the Md/ Pa area. My cutoff temperature is below 15°F. This Coming winter may be a good time to work on my ‘07 RSV. Have fun doing maintenance during the cold months. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I always wait a few seconds before I go, when stopped at a traffic light. You just never know who might want to beat the Red light. Even to this day with so many modern bluetooth technology already factory installed in cars and trucks on the road, I still see people using their phones while driving. Very dangerous for all of us.

To me, it is too cold to ride if there is frost on the ground and sustained winds of 10 to 15 mph which might feel like 10°F or below. Winter is Coming!

Glad to hear you got your problem squared away. Ride on and Ride safe.

Congrats on reaching the 100,00 milestone. I have 60,000 miles on my '07 and still riding it back and forth to work as much as I can. I am the original owner and have never adjusted my valves. These bikes just run solid. Simply rode to and from work today.

We should all be aware as to who are the Top 5 'Intellectual Property Stealers'. Thanks for keeping us safe here on Venturerider forum.

I didn't go to Sturgis and probably will never make it to that place in my lifetime. I'm not just on that level. At any rate, it is always possible to contract COVID-19 from the area with large gatherings almost everywhere. However, the data and information that I read may or may not be accurate. Too many fake news out there, so I have to do my own assignment and dig for the facts. If people ever test positive, the right thing to do is to quarantine yourself and your close contacts. We are still in the midst of a pandemic.

Your quick action recognizing something does not look right really saved the day. Very glad she is doing well.

I changed the oil on the SVTC and then gave the '07 RSV a complete wipe down. Rode to and from work today despite the humidity. It was perfect.

What tools do you carry? I did a review of CruzTools Metric kit
N3FOL replied to VentureFar's topic in Watering Hole
On this end, I carry the supplied tool kit for the bike + a set of small sockets + a set of allen wrenches and standard size flat & philips head screw driver. On longer trips, I will carry tire plugs and a small compressor. All these I hope I don't have to use while away from home. -
With the SVTC, we don’t have to worry about coolant change. I am thankful for that. Oil, tires and brakes are the major ones to do regularly and as needed. Plugs, I think I can also handle that. The next thing I have to learn down the road is the belt adjustment once I replace my rear tire someday. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

...so I was able to change the oil on the SVTC. It took me longer than expected, but I was able to get it done with no hiccups. At 4046 miles, the old oil sure did look pretty dirty and it was time. I managed to find an old gray pan in the garage that is low enough to place under the bike to collect oil. I’m good for another 4K miles. Also, I was able to use a Toyota filter remover on the SVTC and this made it easy to remove the oil filter. 2 qts in the crankcase and 3.2 qts in the oil pan as instructed. Here are some photo ops. Ride safe. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I agree. It literally takes longer to remove all the parts to get to the coolant drain plug and then reinstall all the parts.

Gel Seat for the Star Venture TC
N3FOL replied to DesertLawman's topic in Star Venture and Eluder Tech Talk ( '18 - Present)
I have not heard of any gel seat for the TC, but I've heard about Corbin does manufacture a comfy seat that you might like. -
That is way to nutty for my comfort.

I have an '07 RSV and I've only done my coolant change once and that was in 2013. I know I am due for another one soon, so I am planning to do it sometime this Fall. At 60K miles, it is good preventative maintenance. The last time I did my coolant, I used Prestone coolant/anti-freeze.

I have not tried welding anything. As a young boy 4 decades ago, I still vividly remember looking at our electric meter while my dad was working with his friend welding metal parts together. Needless to say, the electric meter spun like a top every time they were welding...it appears to eat a lot of electricity. Anyway, for half the price, it is a good find.

Hello Don. Glad to know that your eye is doing better with medication. Safety glasses will definitely help one way or another. It is much easier to wear for longer periods than goggles, IMO. I wear glasses all the time and every time I use the weed wacker, tiny rocks fly all over the place and I can hear them hit my lens...and I say to myself [Thank God for the lens or it could have really hurt so bad]. When it comes to riding, I am so glad I have the windshield + my full face visor + eyeglasses in front of my eyes.

I think I am not allergic to bees, but getting stung by anything is not fun at all. You did excellent by keeping control of the bike on an incline. It might be a good idea to start using this...https://off.com/en/product for the rest of the summer. Doc1.docx
