  1. Glad you are ok after that incident. It could have been a lot worse.
  2. Hello there from SE Pennsylvania! I am not so knowledgeable on the 1st Gens, but there is a lot of good resource here. Keep on posting your question and somebody will know the answer. Welcome to the forum.
  3. For mowers and tractors, battery operated does not work for me. But when it comes to a chainsaw, it is the only battery Ryobi brand I have in my yard equipment. Simply because...I only cut tree branches time to time and I've had it for almost 5 years now. Its 40V battery so far is holding up fine. As for this chain saw, the only oil I need is the chain lubricating oil.
  4. This is just too much mathematics for me and based on your initial calculations, gas powered mowers are still more economical in the long run. It is scary to think about the price of the batteries after 5 years...and after 5 years that price at the present time will double in cost after 5 years. IMO, you are better off with gas powered since you are very good in maintaining your equipment. Battery powered mowers are for homeowners who don't like to change oil on their equipment. FWIW, I am still using my JD tractor that I bought in 2001 and is still running strong. Maintaining it is not so expensive either.
  5. I agree. Despite the high price of oil, your rides got the best of the best.
  6. Father's Day to All fathers out there who are still with us and spiritual! Enjoy the day!
  7. Great Job, Don! Sounds to me it is time to ride. Enjoy your week.
  8. Best time to do some wrenching. Enjoy!
  9. Interesting observation on the lowers. FWIW, I don't intend to remove them at all whatever the season is. Ride safe.
  10. I'm in.
  11. Hang in there. Recover fast. Lots of rest and homemade chicken noodle soup woks wonders.
  12. Yesterday, I finally got the chance to replace plugs, final oil drive and coolant. They were all past due for service. Almost 8 years on the coolant, over 10K miles on the plugs. It was so refreshing today weather wise as well as working on my ‘07. Rear tires has been ordered. Took only 3 pics, because I was so into it. 🙏
  13. I'm riding my '07 this week. Even though the weather has been warmer during the days, the early morning rides are cooler. I still remember the day I bought my '07 with only 3 miles on her and the shop mechanic told me as I was about to leave...he said, "Warm it up really good and don't lug the engine."
  14. I've had good experience with DennisKirk and at one point from eBay via a local distributor.
  15. To be honest, I will not buy tires that was not sold in the US.
  16. Pirellis made in China. Thanks for the heads up.
  17. These machines like to run well when warmed up really good.
  18. Pump up your tires close at least closer to the max psi. On my '07, I always keep it at 40 all year round.
  19. Now it looks like a tripod having 2 types of contraption. The legs is orange and the mast is black. hmmm
  20. It looks like a tripod used by civil engineers at a work site. Just guessing...
  21. I am hoping I'll have enough time to do everything I plan to do the week before Memorial Day weekend. I would normally unmount the rear tire and take it to the shop. Another Rear Shinko for the RSV. She deserves the best.
  22. I didn't modify my '07's suspension and I am just like most...I want to keep it the way it was designed. At 5'5", normal Timberland or Red Wing boots does the trick for me.
  23. I agree. Everything else will have to come in this order: Replace plugs, replace coolant, synch carbs, replace final drive oil. Unfortunately I will have to remove my rear tire the last. I just need one nice weekend when I am not called in to work. Normal maintenance for the most part and I am looking forward to doing them.
  24. The pic shows my current tread on my rear tire on the ‘07. If I put it another 2K miles, I’ll be happy. I will have to replace my rear tire this year for sure.
