I finally received my recall letter from Yamaha for dealerships to replace the problematic front brake switch. So far, I don't have any problems on the brake switch and it is perhaps just a matter of time until I experience any trouble with it. I initially need to make an appointment then ride the bike to the dealership of my choice. With snow on the ground and more snow coming my way, it will be awhile until I can get this done. No ride days for the next 7 days at least. XX

I found this on the web and I usually trust Yamalube products for use on my bikes.

I also read this in the news last week and from what I saw on the pic, the building is already engulfed in flames. Did the building have any sprinkler system and/or a fire alarm system? I just don't know...Having said that, people in that part of the world will never be able to see them in person and enjoy history.

I second this idea. At first I kept on calling for my wife or my son to take a look at the 'oil glass sight' to check on the oil level, but almost always they are not around. So, I listened and followed member's suggestions...a telescoping mirror has many uses and now I can check my RSV's oil level with ease. I simply have to shine a light on the mirror for a better view.

The last time I called Yamaha Customer Service, an automated machine answered until it kept ringing and ringing...I'll try again this coming week and hope to get some clarification. It is not time for me to replace the belt, but any knowledge gained is beneficial.

I was reading through the service manual preparing myself to bleed my brakes and came across this on page 3-18. What is the difference here... 4.0 to 6.0 mm on maintenance stand.... 5.0 to 7.0 mm on what? Kick stand perhaps?

This is comforting to know, Yamaha assured you that the shop would take care of any battery issues. IMO, if it has not been started since Nov 22... I personally would like to plug in the battery on a tender even for just a few hours or so.

I agree...a May feel more confident on a trike while on snow. No leaning on a turn makes it safer. 😀👍🏻

@Jesusjunkie Welcome to the forum. I've thought about installing ham radio equipment on my bikes, but I realized that I need 100% of my attention on the road and enjoy the ride itself. That is what the HT is for...I take it with me all the time. The only time I use the radio when mobile is when I am on my cager. It takes a lot of planning and selecting the right equipment for your bike is the key. VOX operation may be your best bet when it comes to tx/rx. I am not trying to discourage you, but if you do install ham equipment on your bike...be safe out there. 73

Rode yesterday to and from work yesterday. Temperature stayed in the upper 20s. The ride home happened to have some passing snow flurries and thank God that is all I got along the way. Nothing really to worry about. Today, rode again with temps around 32°F and will dip down in the low 20s in the am. The heat on the bike definitely helps immensely. It makes the ride so comfortable. Cool Moon tonight.

True...Shinko has several type of tires. On this matter, Shinko 777 is the only one I know that owners use on their RSV including me as far as Shinko tire is concerned. I appreciate the information gained from the video and yet there are several factors that can cause 'the death wobble'. I have not experience this on my RSV so far, so I guess I don't have a bad batch of the Shinko tire that is referred to in the video. In which case, we always have to be aware of the unexpected and try to control the things that we can control like tire pressure, proper maintenance of your bike and riding habits to name a few. There is so much to read and watch online and I continue to learn something new from fellow riders everyday. Ride Safe.

It is very difficult for all of us during this pandemic and I have started to believe that we are still several months away from normalcy. The question now is, how is the new normal going to look like? What science and health care providers can do is to aggressively treat the symptoms, but it is not a cure. Getting hold of any of the therapeutics 'they say' might work can be a daunting task. I think there is just not enough circulating around the country and the focus on trying to administer them and the response given to the general public is still not well organized. It is heartbreaking that our senior citizens, our loved ones are suffering and I am very worried about my parents who are in their 80's and very vulnerable. As opportunistic as COVID-19, I pray that science continue to make progress. Stay safe everyone.

We are going to have a lot of measurable snow later today here in the PA area/NE. I hope none of you guys are planning to ride through snow. It may be about 5 to 7 days before I get to ride safely. Salt on the roads needs a nice rain. Not looking good.
