The last time I heard about Beryl is that he is headed toward Mexico as a Cat 2 hurricane. My prayers go out to all those that are affected by this terrible hurricane.

My SVTC is running on a 4 year old battery. I think I really have to just replace the battery for peace of mind. I don't want to get stuck somewhere or in a middle of nowhere...these bikes/battery sometimes don't really give you much a warning in terms of a weakening battery. As per the title, it sure is a beautiful day here in SE Pa. for a bike ride.

So it is Tuesday once again from the last time I started this thread. We are having 4 straight days of great weather. Lots of Sun and Humidity is tolerable in the 50's. Today, humidity is about 44 percent, so I just have to take the RSV to and from work. One more day of work for the week...looking forward to it.

That is true. I always have to measure the oil 2 to 3 times before I finally do the pour. Because my SVTC is lower than the RSV, I will have to lift the bike in order for me to fit my one and only oil pan. So generally, it takes more time on the SVTC than the RSV IMO. The SVTC also takes more oil. FWIW, I love them both.

RSV just had an oil change a few days ago. Just riding to and from work errands and some occasional rides to visit friends. Swapping every two days between the RSV and SVTC.

Today was "Oil Change Day' for my RSV. I've owned her from the very beginning from 2007 to present. It has always amazed me from her very first oil change up to now...how straightforward it is to change the oil on the RSV using simple tools. This is all the tools I need to do an oil change. Every 3000 miles using dino oil ever since. Ride safe all.

I remember the very first time I did the SVTC, it took me much much longer and always double checking the amount that I should add, etc, etc. The next time I have to go through another oil change, it will be another challenge but fun in a way. The key is, just take your time.

From that statement, I am guessing the fluid went very low that caused your diaphragm to fall to the bottom. With that said, it has been awhile since my last brake/clutch fluid replacement...but the fluid still looks good from the watch glass on both the clutch and front brakes.

I am sure my electricity will skyrocket, but gas will be much less.

@Marcarl I agree it does have a lot more on the sides. Once I was aware that the tire had a little over 16K, I said to myself....it is time.

Not too long ago, I was just at a dealership to have my new tire mounted on my rear tire. The dealership carried Can Am and they had several models and size Can Am to choose from. Perhaps if you are still considering this type of ride, check out your local dealer and they might have the right one for you. FWIW, 6 months is really not that long to wait. Heal well. Regards.

Just got the chance to remove and install the new tire on my RSV yesterday. Shinko 777s are great tires. The old rear tire had 16024 miles.

I agree. It has been so nice since last weekend. The heat is back today, but I will still ride even if it is to and from work. Always be vigilant. A lot of drivers are not paying attention. Ride Safe.

@Freebird The Harley does sound much more involved on a change oil. Good job. I am wondering why you have to do the transmission fluid? Was it due and how many miles before the next trans oil change? I couldn't agree more that the RSV is very straightforward in terms of oil changes. My SVTC takes a little more time, since I have to measure two different amounts for the crank case and the other for the engine oil. Since my acquisition of the SVTC. I stayed with Mobil 1 and I use dino oil Rotella for the RSV.

I was wondering what it is until I searched it on Bing. Honestly, it reminded me of my younger sister's bike she had, while we were growing up. I find it can be problematic, if you are at a corner and you want to make a sharp left or sharp right turn. Just like what Don said, very interesting.

I just bought another battery a week ago for my RSV. The previous lasted a good 5 years until now. I've since been buying Duracell Moto batteries from batteries plus. No complaints in that arena.

Our weather has been a little unsettled for a few days, but today is a nice day in the upper 60s. At least today I hope to get to ride to and from work. Be safe out there.

I've been using Dot 3 or 4 synthetic on both my RSV and SVTC. No issues to report. All ok.

It is riding season anyway. Go and make it happen for your wife. Happy Wife=Happy Life.
