  1. Blackjack and I met JB around Buford off I85 and Ga 20 at about 6:45 and went to Sonny's for som BBQ. Had a good visit. Checked out the new ride...He done good with that one! After eating (VRiders do that soooo well!), and a little more parking lot trash-talkin and some picture taking, Blackjack headed home and I started leading Lonestarmedic back towards Marietta. For you non-Georgians, Buford is in extreme NE Atlanta and Marietta is extreme NW Atl. And you just about can't get there from here. You can spend an hour and a half in heavy traffic on the interstates or you can do it in only about 90 minutes on the back roads. After about half an hour on the back roads, a few towns and over a dam JB said "Where are you taking me?" Lets just say that I try to avoid Atl Interstates if I can, and JB finally got to get off the highways and get a little experience on some twisties with his new bike! We got to my place about 10 and, though I didn't have a fire for him, Tom, we did break into the bourbon to take the chill off. And it was chilly, at one point, going across the lake, I saw 29 degrees on the thermometer! Tomorrow we'll do some biscuits for breakfast and I'll lead him out to I75 and send him on his way. Unless he decides to go grab an Odyssey 680 battery. He had trouble starting the bike in 30+ weather this am. But the bike is tucked in warm and safe in the garage tonight. Heck I might even have been able to squeeze one more bike in too! I think he's on his 'puter in his bedroom now posting. I don't know if he's posting in this thread or starting anew one. Nice guy. (Like that's really strange for people on this site! )

    Backrest

Some place Freebird posted a photo re-sizing program, but I don't find it now. You can use it to shrink your photos to fit here. Hey Don, where is that program???
  3. Blackowl is your best bet for the ball stud info! Check out this thread. I ordered some from hom to have on hand if I need them. Now if I can just remember where I put them! And for other plastic repair I've used Devcon Plastic Welder (2 part epoxy) and fiberglass cloth with great success. Easy to replace/rebuild tabs and reinforce cracks.

Hey, Gene, I love my XM 46 is pretty good classic rock 45 is XM Cafe, pretty good stuff that you don't often hear, from artists that you know. ..................I.E. Spingsteen covering a Ray Charles song, etc. 50 has a lot of good acoustic and live rock 110 & 113 Has some good classical. Nice to listen to someplace like the Blue Ridge Pkwy 220s are for traffic in different major cities
  5. Looking forward to meeting you tomorrow! Let me know when you get away; and keep the rubber down! Hope you're out of the rain now.
  6. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: You crack me up, Mike!!!
  7. I'll look for your call!
  8. At least he enlisted under the right Flag!!! The South Will Rise Again!
  9. Your new ride looks really nice, J.B.! Sounds like you only have some minor problems. And lots of help around here!!! Let me know when you'll be here. Are you still thinking Tuesday night? I'll leave a light on! We may have a couple others meet up with us for an impromptu M&E! Anyone else in the area that might want to join us PM me or call (# is in the VRAssistance area).
  10. As has been said so many times in other threads, Sherry, playing the "what if" game will lead nowhere but to more pain. Don't go to that place where you end up finding little reasons that allow you to see your actions as the cause of your loss. If you had triked the Silver Wing, maybe Tom would have decided that day "Maybe I'll try the trike today!" and ended in the same result and you would have blamed yourself then too. Don't try to lay blame. Just know that one day you'll be with Tom again. And know that you are loved and supported by many, many here!
  11. Good luck on that, JB! I guess you asked him to come down on $! We can fix plastic if you can get into it cheap enough. Either way, keep us informed! Just let me know when you're coming this way......and if you are just flying over......wave!
  12. Solid food is a real good thing! I'm sure there are still more prayers going out than can be counted.
  13. I hope you got s of that burnout! You know the rules!
  14. Chu Gots Mail, Dude!
  15. albeit much more survivable!
  16. Sorry I couldn't make that ride with you Thursday. I have a hitch but it is homemade and I don't know if they would have liked it any better, even though I have towed two different trailers, maybe 7 or 8 thousand miles with it! Between us (3600+ of us!) we'll figure out a way to get your trailer safely to you and behind you!
  17. If I read your other post right, J.B. you are leaving Richmond on Monday which will put you around here Monday Night? MapQuest has the milage at 536 miles Richmond-Marietta. You've got a place to stay when you get here. If want to stay here and you let me know how and when you'll be coming in I can ride out and meet you. You do want to avoid rush hour in the Atlanta area, though. I've got you in my phone. Call me or I'll call you.
  18. I bought my VR with about 40k on the clock and didn't realize the spring (which must have been left off by a dealer!) was missing until I hit about 75k! I ordered one and put it in at the next oil change. No point rushing into these things! But yeah, you'll only lose the oil in the filter, so go for it.
  19. I have a bell that was given to me for the Venture, but not one on the Intruder. Can you have too many bells on a bike?!?! Can you move a bell from one bike to another or does it need to stay with the bike it was intended for? Man, it can get so cornfusing dealing with Gremlins! Hey, Blackjack, you interested in a swap?
  20. I'm in for two. Just sent 27 bucks PP! Thanks for hookin this up, Don!
  21. I HATE the Roger Beep!

    Happy Haloween

    BOO-WA-HAHA!!!
  23. Dragonrider will probably jump in here, if not PM him. They did that to Clay18's bike. Used a momentary switch on the left handlebar for the PTT.
  24. And not all of us ride a Star. I'm in for one or two, Don!
  25. Yea, Lowell, grab some tire chains and RIDE ON DUDE!
