Heck, I thought Churchill started that with the whole cigar thing?!? (And that's different than the Clinton cigar thing!) I want to watch you and Beer do that one! I like that idea, Carl, but with the thumb held in to the palm so it isn't Live Long And Prosper!

Sounds like a great trip, Tom! It's cool to hear you went to Howe cave. My great-great-great-(someplace back there)-grandfather found that cave and opened it to the public! He even asked his girlfriend to marry him in the cave. She said yes and one of my cousins still has her wedding ring. We keep talking about doing a family reunion there but I doubt it will happen.

Hey Bob! Great to see y'all back! Hope you're doing real well. John, another trick if you find some holes in your diaphragm, you can use electrician's "Liquid Tape" to plug them. Diaphragms aint cheap, dude!

I figure that if loud pipes saved lives, then Wingers would be dropping like flies!

Maybe if you rode over and we did lunch while it sat and cooled. That should work. Would need to be a Sunday or Monday as I work Tues thru Sat. As far as the backfiring, you probably need a carb sync as well. Especially if it's been a while. Yamamama recomends 2500 miles. I'm lucky to get it by 25000!

I'd highly recomend a few hours at Little Big Horn as well. You can get a great idea of just how badly Custer screwed up! The rangers give a pretty good talk about the history, and the museum is interesting.

You don't have to do anything special to weld it. When I did mine we just used a mig welder with regular wire. Chip, if you take the collecter off and bring it to Marietta, we can open it and close it back up. You'll just have to buy my buddy lunch and maybe a six pack!

I signed it and agree we need to drill for our own oil, but I don't think this is a "legal" petition. It allowed me to sign twice and has no way to verify authenticity. But maybe it will get some attention.

Gee, Bobbie, when I saw that title I thought you had gone out and bought yourself a bike! Good luck with the camera. I can't picture you without it!
-
I have to agree with Jeff, Jeff(?!). You deserve a nice 1st gen, and I think Skid will agree with me here, the saddlebags and trunk are gorgeous! Now, quick!, get it dirty!!! I'm just glad they didn't paint it pink! (It was discussed!) You deserve it, Dude! BTW...How did you get two bikes home?

Leaving Branson take 65 south into Ar and grab 14 east (or maybe it's 16) and you will find some incredible twisties! That's where I found this sign! And if you get to the ATL, give me a call, you've got a place to stay.

You might want to try it again, Mike. I did the same thing as far as getting both value resistors. One worked (I don't remember which, I've slept since then:rotf:) and it was really easy.

Hey, Bob! You know you got a lot of great people pulling for ya. Wish I could come help with the Honey-dos! Do what the Doc and the Physical Terrorists tell y'all to do!

Speedo Maintenance Tip
86er replied to DRAGIN TAIL's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Oh well, at least you won't get a speeding ticket, Giga! -

Hey Jeff, how we gonna fit that engine in a first gen?!?!?

You don't look too snarly in that picture!!! In fact, you kinda got a Schiesse Eatin' Grin on your face! (Ain't that right Squeeze!) Pretty bike, Bill!

I sent Eagleeye an 86 XL250R on USFHoland (his shipper). I took it to USFH on Tues. afternoon and he had the bike at noon on Thurs. Fairly cheap too, but he had connections. Check out this thread. Look what I got from Georgia Since we had to take the bike during rush hour in the ATL, after we dropped it off we found a bar and got in it to kill some time. We left there at about 8:00pm. We joked, as we passed a couple of USFH trucks on 285, "Hey maybe the bike's in that one!". It must have been since Steve got it so quick!
-
I guess you better take it to maintenance day then, Gary! Don said he wants to buy it.......but he can't! With that grill, that truck looks alot like my '50, it just doesn't have enough windows!!!

As for the Mac Muffler thing, I put them on my 86 and on the left one I had some trouble. I had to elongate the mounting hole and open the end of the muffler, it also hangs a little lower than the right one. Of course, this may all have to do with my crash at the Dragon last year which pushed the whole rear left side down. And, yes as I recall, you need to use some spacers. I went to Ace Hardware and bought them in chrome. I bought different sizes and used what worked.

I agree, Thank You Jack for all your work on this and other buys! But everybody is talking of notice of shipping by USPS, I haven't seen anything like that yet. Is that an email thing or what?!? Or maybe it's just sitting on my kitchen table.
