I have to go along with the Arkansas, Tennessee, Alabama areas. Lots of good riding in any of those areas and they are (with the exception of Al.) centrally located. Both of the previous rallies have been towards the north of the continent. The Co. Springs rally kind of takes out the Four Corners Area as well as Mt/Wy area. It would seem the point of moving it around would be somewhat the same as the intent of moving the monthly N. Ga. Breakfast, to allow more people to make the events. Moving it closer at times to some people than at other times. It's time to come south, even if it's Phoenix, The Hill Country or N'Orleans. Sorry Ks., but I've spent a lot of time there and there are just not a lot of good twisties there.

Not likely! Probably a 1st gen pulling that 2nd gen! Put me down for a large, Margaret.

Congrats, JB! Give Maggie and Julia my condolences............................... errr...I meant to say, "A big hug for me!":bighug:
-
I dunno about a 2nd gen, but a 1st gen'll fit on the back of a stake bed, with room to spare.

YamaMama says to replace that canister every 2 years......I "cooked" mine at 21 years and I'm not sure if it made a difference either! I'm telling myself that it did, anyway. At least it looks prettier!

I use http://esnipe.com and they don't charge much. I bought $15 in credits and that has lasted me over a year. You only use credits if you win an auction and then just a few.

You can trust Swifty with your bike.......as long as he doesn't have to take it through any front doors! Sorry about your appendix. I went through that in '91. But the hospital screwed the pooch with me. I went to the ER with high temp and stomach pain, three nurses did the reflex test, where they press on your abdomen and release. It didn't hurt, then a male nurse came in and pressed really hard and released it.... THAT HURT. I think that is when it burst. They put me in the OR immediately! Then they taped the incision with the wrong tape. I had peritonitis and my stomach was swelling but the tape wouldn't release so it was tearing the skin around it. I was in the hospital 10 days and they almost killed me! I didn't have insurance and they only sent me 1 bill for $32,000! I didn't pay it and they never came after me or hit my credit report with it. I think they knew they screwed up bad and didn't want to press and have me go to a lawyer. Hmmmm...maybe it's not too late? I call my scar (and it's ugly!) "My Lexus". I hope you get feeling better soon! Be happy you're headed home and still alive!

So, Jeff, where did you get the firestick and what was involved in mounting it? What cost was involved with extras?
-
You've got a PM, Bob.
-
Bummer, Randy! This was the first I heard of this and it sucks for you. Jeff mentioned that you were watching a fairing on eBay but I didn't know about the hit-n-run. I just went back and read the other posts you did. When I crashed last year I bent the fairing stay and couldn't get the mirror mount straight so I got another one. This time when I cashed, I bent it on the other side so I took the two, cut them apart, and with the help of a friend, welded the two good halves back together. Looks like it's going to work, I haven't hung plastic back on it but the dash mounts up right. Good luck with it all.

Bill, if you're talking about the overlook as the place to rest up before starting back, that isn't the end. That's only nine miles from the Deal's Gap. There are two more miles going down to the lake and that is as twisty as the rest of it.

If the made it to Pa, why aren't they in Canada?!?! Maybe they wouldn't let Beer in?
-
To clutch, or not to clutch. THAT is the question.
86er replied to Schlepporello's topic in Safety and Education
I use the clutch a little more on the Venture than the Intruder, but that's only because the Intruder lends itself to having the left hand hang beside the bike! When I was learning to drive buses, I was taught that the clutch is for getting the load moving! After that it was superfluous. I don't even use it much in my '50 GMC truck. -
Yea, it would be about another 2 1/2 to 3 hours on up here. I'd try to meet you for a bite Saturday morning but I'll be working. :~( Ride safe and enjoy our hills! Since you mentioned Maggie Valley, i assume you are going to Wheels Thru Time. You don't want to miss that!

If you need a place to stay when you pass through Atlanta, Mike, I've got a spare room. Just let me know and you're welcome to it.

I saw the SkyCycle at the '06 Sun-N-Fun in Florida. It's pretty cool, but it looked like it would be a little scary @ 70mph on the ground! In the air it would be great though!

Ride safe, Jeff! You know it's Amateur Weekend!

Sounds like a great time! I hope you did the Crazy Horse monument while you were in SD. It's even bigger than Rushmore! It's pretty awesome.

I agree about "Forget The Oysters" part. Oysters aren't all they are cracked up to be.........the last time I ate a dozen, only eight of them worked!!!
