    I picked up a Nolan N-something (42, I think) on sale at the local CycleGear. It was a $210 helmet on sale for 80 bucks because it hadn't sold. I love it! It is a 3/4 with w flip down face shield and separate sun shield. What I love about it is that it takes about a minute to remove or replace the face shield, I only use that when the weather is way cold or raining, http://www.nolanhelmets.com/images/helmets/n422.jpg

    The rack on the back of my bike isn't exactly "aftermarket" but it was made for an 1800 Goldwing. I think you can kind of see it in these pictures. Of course, it's hard to get a picture of a First Gen!!! I also included a pic before I added it.

    Man, George! Don't be spreading those nasty rumors! Last time I looked, Accuweather is saying 58 and mostly cloudy but they aren't saying anything about rain after Tuesday and Wednesday. I'll have my Carbtune, Chip. Sure hope to see you Saturday. Even if you have to limp over here.

    Dan, my kickstand switch, or gear sensor switch, gets bad once the bike gets warm and it doesn't know that it is in neutral. I even had to have Muffinman push me once to start it (in front of about 20 members; That was embarrassing!). For a couple of years I learned to always stop on a hill when it was hot. I finally took the clutch lever switch apart, cleaned it real well and lubed it so it slides easily. Now when it's hot I can still start it, even in gear, with the clutch pulled in. Just make sure that the sidestand is up!

    It's OK if you show up in a cage. That happens from time to time, besides, we occasionally have Harleys ride with us so you can pick up the spare parts!!! (And wee won't even talk about the 2nd Gens!) I look forward to meeting you and your wife.

    I've got one of Skydoc's fuse block kits and have looked at putting it on a couple of times but I've not done it yet. It is going to have to be relocated.

    Thanks, it looks like that was it, Gary! The fuse was good so when I looked at it it looked ok. But it wasn't in the holder securely. Now that I have the CMOS out I'm gonna take care of a few little problems with it. I get the headlight warning light when I go to high beam and since I went to LEDs in the brake and tail light I have a warning on that as well. Time to do some soldering and adding some jumpers. It looks like the computer I got in a dash off of eBay isn't good. Somebody had been into it because hold down screw on the board is missing.

    The cables are tight, but that made me wonder about the stator since I have nothing showing on the volt meter. I started it and checked with a separate meter and it's putting out 14.25 at the battery. The headlight is good and bright. I have tail light but not brake light. The background of the LCD is lit but no display. No neutral light or temp gauge either. Time for the second beer!

    On the way home from work I noticed that my turn signals hads quit working. Then I noticed that all the computer display was blank although the tach was still working, then that quit. When I got home and put the kickstand down everything came back. If I put the ks back up it all went out again. Now, after sitting, it's back to blank when I turn on the switch. I have tried plugging in another computer to no effect. I don't know if the other computer is good but I've checked it out and don't see any noticeably bad solder joints. I also have a nib reserve lighting unit that I am going to try. Anybody have any ideas? I've got my laptop here in the garage with me.

    I have friends that have been going camping in the North Georgia mountains on the first full weekend in February for the last 36 years! This was my 4th year and we had 5 or 6 inches of snow. It collapsed my tent at 7am Saturday!! But we ain't doin' it on no bikes!!! (Although Russ brought a dirt bike up a couple of years ago!)

    I hope you can make it to the meet and eat on the 13th of March, Don. It's on the calender, but you have to go to the March page. Or follow Mini's link to the post. I started this meet 4 years ago and had 22 people on 18 bikes from 7 states show up. It's always a lot of fun and it is a rain or shine event. Even in the rain it's worth the ride. Just ask Sleeperhawk, I think he even ended up with a new bike because of it!

    Why do you think they invented aluminum foil?! Duh!! I loved my XM until they merged with Sirius. They raised the rates and added DJs to every station to which I listen. If I want to know what song they are playing or who is playing it, I'll look a the digital info!
