Oil leaking from right exhaust pipe
rcijr posted a topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Hi all, I have a 2005 RSV that started leaking oil from the right exhaust pipe today. It's been sluggish on occasion until the bike gets warmed up. Today it seemed extra sluggish and doggy starting from a stop sign. I parked it in the garage, went in the house for a half hour or so and came out to see a 4" by 2" puddle of oil on the floor underneath the right pipe. Any ideas on what it could be? I'm under warranty until 2/2011. I use Rotella synthetic and purolator pure one filter. Will these cause me any issues for warranty work if I bring it in? Thanks -
Are you talking the 3/4 helmet, or half helmet? If they will work with the half helmets, I may be interested in buying if you are interested in selling.

I bought this kit that had a quart of Penzoil marine gear lube 80W-90 GL5 mainly because I wanted the pump that came with it. The whole kit was $5. Is there any difference between marine gear lube and regular gear lube? What I currently use in the rear end of the bike is regular 80W-90 GL5, so my thought is I should be able to use this stuff meant for marine use. Same weight and they both have the GL5 rating... Anyone with any knowledge on this?

Hey all, I'm heading on a bike trip with some family members (our annual trip) and I'm trying to find some lodging near Manistique, MI. We're trying to keep the cost as low as we can. There will be 7 or 8 of us. Any input would be appreciated.

We made the trip last year and it was a great ride. The views are what I'd expect in a commercial promoting Canada. Keep your eye out for the mighty moose. We saw one on eating on the side of the road as we drove around. We tried to stay at the cheapest places we could find along the way. On the way up we stayed in Sault Ste. Marie at this place. http://www.longshipsmotel.net/ Not the fanciest place, but it's right by the Soo locks so you can see some big ships coming in. It's pretty cool to see at night. Have a great ride!

I've been told by mechanics that you can go back and forth with no problems. You can mix them too. Here is some info I found out there on websites of oil manufacturers... http://www.mobiloil.com/usa-english/motoroil/synthetics/synthetic_oils_faqs.aspx http://www.valvoline.com/faqs/motor-oil/full-synthetic-motor-oil/ http://www.castrol.com/castrol/genericarticle.do?categoryId=9014502&contentId=7017050 Rich

any thoughts of doing another guardianbell swap?

If anyone else is looking, I wouldn't mind swapping a bell. -
I had the C50 before the RSV and it was a fun bike. It was quick around town, very light and maneuverable. The wind blew me around quite a bit though. That was my biggest complaint on the highway. On long trips, the stock seat got to feel like sitting on a cement block, but many bikes are like that (not the RSV though ).
