Anyone have a left hand mirror assembly for a first gen they would be willing to part with for an affordable (as in: I'm poor) price? Fred

Although I liked Danny Kaye, I identify more with Foster Brooks....

You might also try CMSNL.COM. They have a huge supply of Japanese bike parts going all the way back to the '60s.

Actually, this is a very common, but little known phenomenon. You see, as you approach the speed of sound, the sound waves have a tendency to form a cone projecting out at an angle from the nose of the bike, thereby forming a quieter area around the rider. These speeds, while common with the first generation bikes, are unattainable with the newer second generation models. The only way you may possibly enjoy the same results is if you could somehow get close enough behind a first generation and allow his suction to draft you along in the "quiet zone". But be aware that a sudden side wind can knock you out of the draft and cause you to hit a wall of headwind that could likely destroy your bulkier, more wind resistant second generation design. I hope this explanation helps.

Yeah, like that here in Arkansas, too.

Great news! My all time favorite tire. Wears like iron.

Yeah, next size up wire will probably work. On one of mine I had that problem once but when I went to the next thicker wire, it was just a little too thick, so what I did was put it on the anvil and lightly tap it all the way around with a ball peen until it was slightly flattened. Then it fit and sealed right. -
OK, here's one I saw at a bike meet one time. They set up a horizontal bar on two uprights like what pole vaulters use except only not so high. The rider and passenger rides under it at fairly slow speed. As they pass under it, the passenger tosses a water balloon up and over the bar and tries to catch it on the other side. If they catch it, they go on to the next round, and if they miss, they are eliminated, (and the rider or passenger or both get soaked if the balloon misses their catch and lands on one of them, which happens about half the time). Whoever is the last one left successfully catching the balloon gets a small prize. I know it sounds kind of lame, but it's all I can think of at the moment.

Name of Restaurant Rivertowne BBQ Street Address 205 S 3rd Street City Ozark State or Province AR Website (Optional) http://www.rivertownebbq.com/ Quality of Food Fantastic Quality of Service Great Biker Friendly? (Parking, Trusted Location, Etc.) Yes Kind of Food? (Mexican, Chinese, etc.) Bar-B-Que Alcohol Served? No Additional Comments Closed Sunday and Mondays. Tues-Fri Open 11:00-2:00 & 4:00-8:00. Sat Open 11:00-8:00. There is little parking at the restaurant itself, as it is on a street without its own parking lot. However, Ozark is a small town. You can walk all around the downtown area in a few minutes, so there is plenty of places to park around the courthouse or side streets. There is a large parking lot across the street, but it is for a club and you just would have to take your chances on them not making an issue of it. Also, if you want to eat in the evening, expect to wait in line.

You have my sympathy. Sunny and nice here. It's supposed to get up to 80° here by the end of the week.

Actually, I have a little different take on that. See, I've never known of a liberal being intimidated by the NRA. I think maybe she is waiting to see what happens in Illinois. Then she could completely change tactics. There is a bill being introduced in that state that proposes that all gun owners be required to carry $1,000,000.00 worth of liability insurance on any gun they own. If it passes, then the average gun owner could never afford the insurance even IF they could find a company to issue the policy. Failure to insure the guns would be a felony. If, by some chance this passes, then it wouldn't be a stretch to think that would Pelosi would jump on the bandwagon and introduce federal legislation requiring the same thing. Back door way to do away with ownership. Anyway, I didn't mean to hijack the thread, (especially on this subject), but as soon as I had heard she had backed off I was instantly suspicious and when I heard about the Illinois bill I couldn't help but wonder if maybe she is watching it with great interest.

Would it be helpful to list whether or not the place serves beer and or wine? I know that sometimes I like to have a beer or glass of wine with my meal, and if 2 or more places are close to each other and one serves alcohol and the other doesn't that will be a strong factor in which one I choose. For instance, I like beer with pizza and bar-b-que and a glass of wine with Italian food. Just a thought, others may disagree as they feel even one glass of alcohol is not good if riding, but I personally can't even feel it, especially with a big meal.

Yeah, things is tough all over. I wish it would finally get out of the mid 60s for a change. One day it's 72, the next it's 65. Never know whether to wear the leather jacket or the Levy vest. Winter can get a person down like that.

Well, I just checked the post and I can't seem to make the drawing big enough to read the text, but if you know how, then there is a short explanation of how you use it to force the rotor off.

My apologies for the 10 day delay, I have not been scanning the posts as often or as thoroughly as I should have. I think if you click on the gif you can make it bigger...I hope. It's really just a rear axle from the same type of bike cut down to about 4 inches and then an axle nut welded on to make it a bolt. The drawing shows how it works.

Oh, now I get it. You still have your motorcycle for sale. I read the post title and thought you had a still for sale. I thought I had seen some nice stills in my time, but I just had to see one that was worth that much money. I mean, heck, here in this part of Arkansas you can buy a real nice still for $1,000.00 or less....

It warmed up today...and then it snowed money.

It's great to hear they gave him back his money, but what popped out at me was: What in the world was he doing just stuffing that much cash in a pocket and taking off on a bike? Maybe it's just because I'm so poor, but if it was me I would have had that money zipped up, snapped shut, and chained to my belt before heading into a highway speed headwind. -
finally someone figured out whats wrong with our van
oldandcrotchety replied to Cinderella's topic in Watering Hole
Incorrect toe-in can cause that. Also, if it is front wheel drive, worn CV joints can cause a shimmy. -
I guess I'll look around the house for something to wrap up for her. Maybe that sugar bowl we haven't used in a long time, or maybe an orange and banana if we don't eat them all before then. Wouldn't want her thinking I was thoughtless or something. Luckily I saved some wrapping paper from a gift I unwrapped last year. Even still has the tag on it. I'll just have to mark out the name with a sharpie. If I have time I may even make a bow out of duct tape. Wouldn't want to spoil her though.....
