Man I miss those days. Tackle football in someone's back yard with no pads, swimming in Beaver Creek with the turtles and snakes, but no trunks, rock climbing and caving with no ropes or other equipment, going fishing with $1 worth of equipment (4' of line a float, a hook and a stick for a rod), seeing who could climb to the very top of a tree without getting chicken, riding wheelies on bicycles and counting how many "pedals" we could go on the back wheel. We built those wooden "go-carts" that we'd ride down the huge hill in the cow pasture across the road. No brakes and you had to steer with your feet. We never had cell phones but each kid on our street had a car horn "Morse code" that meant to get home NOW! My 2 brothers and I had 2 long blasts on the horn and we'd better be home quick. We built tree houses in the woods from scavenged lumber, and we always had a rope swing that would break and nearly kill whoever was on it at the time. No wonder I have so many aches and pains now (40 years later).

I didn't buy a jacket, just the gloves. I wish I had made my own, or bought some other brand.

This may not work for yours but I bent one of mine forward and I just shoved it with the bottom of my foot. You could say I kicked it, but it was more of a shove. I had my brother sit on it and hold the brakes on while I finessed it.

Have you jacked it up and spun the front wheel to see if you can see anything?

Your experience matches mine exactly. They squeal and growl and won't wear out. I use the front more than the rear and they show no wear at, but the rear appear to be about 1/2 worn out.

I hit a patch of ice while changing lanes the other day, I was surprised when I slid a couple of inches. I rode pretty slow the rest of the way to work.

Sorry to hear about your wreck. You haven't had this bike long have you? I'm glad you and your wife are ok.

I'm glad you asked. I wonder about that too. Nothing stinks worse than burning rubber, and I try to get every last bit of wear out of my tires. When I was young I used to love to jump bikes and ride wheelies, but both of those things take a little bit of skill, unlike melting a tire. I'll keep watching this thread to see if anyone can shed some light.

Those new models are nice to look at and fun to play with, but they require a lot of maintenance, develop leaks and make a lot of noise when they get low on fuel.

I bought the same kit and had the same problem. I got the wires through, but it was such a squeeze I was afraid it would short out. I ended up uninstalling it. It's in my junk drawer in the kitchen.

Not saying it's not a great plan, but why don't you tow your own bike down instead of renting? I'm just curious.

I just bought a tire for the rear of my RSTD. I read many posts before I finally dEecided. I read good and bad about all of them. The only tires most people agreed on were Bridgestones (nobody liked them). I finally decided on Elite III. I've ridden on it a few hundred miles and really like it. It doesn't roar in turns like the Bridgestone that was on it when I got the bike. I have ridden this bike only a few thousand miles, so I don't have a lot of feedback (I bought it used late Sept.), but that's my personal experience.

You're not going to share it with the rest of us?

While it was cold I changed to Flanders bars with more pull back. I got a chance to ride for 3 hours today and had no shoulder pain. This is the first time I've ridden over an hour on this bike without that sharp pain. Hopefully it's fixed...

I would just put the pipes on and try it out. I plugged my AIS, but it made no difference, so I unplugged them. A friend of mine has the Barons. You'll love 'em. Jim

I bought a tiny remote at Home Depot. It has visor clip on it already. I used some double side tape and stuck a strip from an inner tube inside the clip. I slip the clip over the lower LH side of my windshield. You don't even notice it unless you're really looking for it. It's easy to reach and it works great. Of course if you can't find a remote that wouldn't work, but surely someone sells a remote for your opener.

I rode about 10 miles on an errand. It was pretty nice here in the 40s, but I didn't have a lot of free time to ride.

He'll live. I've getting around in Fords for years. What don't kill you makes you stronger.

"Happy Holidays" is a very nice greeting. I don't see why people get their panties in a wad because they don't say it to suit them.

I like it. It's very easy to navigate, loads quickly and looks professional.
