Beware using your debit card at the gas pump
eazyduzzit replied to Venturous Randy's topic in Watering Hole
I have read some crazy things in this thread. I have used my debit card for everything I buy for the last 10 years, and I check the balance online about once a day. I have never had over 1$ held for anything. As far as giving people access to your checking account, you do the same if you write checks. The number at the bottom of your check is your checking account number. I love not having to carry hundreds of dollars in cash around all the time. I guess I'm just different from most people. -
I never have really understood what is so special about the "Dragon". Years ago back when it was just another back road, a friend of mine drove a winnebago across it pulling a dune buggy with a boat behind the buggy. It was just another road. All the back roads around here (east TN) are great bike riding roads.

It seems like the answer to every engine question on this forum is either "carb sync" or "Sea Foam". My bike is running fine, but at certain speeds/RPMs it seems kinda buzzy for lack of a better word, and I can feel a vibration in the handlebars. I think it should be smoother. I was wondering if there is a kind soul in the Knoxville area who has experience with syncing carbs and wouldn't mind helping me do mine.

I know that itch well. I quit riding when I was just in my 20s. I had kids and couldn't afford a bike at the time. After my daughter got engaged last year I got an itch that only buying a bike would scratch.

I changed them at different times, so I didn't notice the difference.

I don't know what you changed from, but I just replaced original Bridgestones with E3s on my bike and I love the difference it made. It handles better at all speeds.

New RSTD Ownerr
eazyduzzit replied to wakers's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
I was thinking about this very thing today when I had to make a quick stop. I have never locked up my back wheel, and I've had to stop suddenly several times. I always use the front and back brakes simultaneously. Is this not how other people use their brakes? I'm just curious because I've seen it posted here before how easy it is to lock up the rear, but I've never had it happen to me. -
Any tips for removing lower cowlings

Pull backs for Handlebars ??
eazyduzzit replied to a topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
You can't use risers on the RSTD. It isn't the same as the RSV. The Flanders part #650-08783 replacement bars is the only option I found. I did not have to replace any cables or lines, I just re-routed them a little. It's pretty simple to do. -
Fabricated a new hitch for my '06 Midnight Venture
eazyduzzit replied to DaveDanger's topic in Trailer Talk
Nice, That's the best looking hitch I've seen on one of these bikes. -
Sounds like it's way over hyped. It can't be that good....

That's a beauty.

Power socket on RSTD?
eazyduzzit replied to Shipper's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
Here is a post I made a few months ago showing how I did mine. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=30178 -
Along that same reasoning. The company I work for cut 4 of our people because our sales were down for a few months. Now sales are picking back up, but we don't have enough people to handle it. Phones are going unanswered, morale is bad because everyone is overworked and the boss is more of an ass than normal because he's worried about his job. It makes no sense to me to ruin a business just because of a few bad months.

Funrider, I like your sig line. It's a good one to remember... A clash between a bike and a cage, you can not win. Choose your battles wisely and live to ride again.

I just posted earlier about the ride I took today on the one bought by a friend. It had no whine at all.
-
No, never ridden a "real" one... but I'd like to. Maybe when I get my truck paid off...

Oh I meant to mention the great ride we had. We rode down to Fall creek Falls. The weather was wonderful, and we had a great time. Nice area. Some of the roads around here make you wonder why people make such a fuss over the Dragon.
