Anyone experience driveline lash?
eazyduzzit replied to Monsta's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I get the same thing, but it feels more like it's in the throttle than the driveline. -
Developed a vibration-what to check?
eazyduzzit replied to Midrsv's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
What does it feel like? Is it a high frequency vibration? The reason I ask is because I've developed one too, but mine isn't just when I roll on the throttle, it's just at certain RPMs and I feel it in the grips and when my legs are against the fuel tank. -
I had a Kawasaki 90 when I was about 13. We used to have to walk 1/2 mile to the end of of our rd. to catch the school bus. My brother had a honda 65. He and I would run home from the bus stop and ride back out & wait for the 2 high school girls that lived dow the road from us. Their bus got there a little later than ours. We'd give them a ride home. These bikes were the type where the girl would have to slide in close and hold on tight. I still get slightly aroused when I see one of those old bikes:) After that I had several dirt bikes and a CB350. I got married and sold 2 bikes I had at the time to buy a piece of land. Later I had a dirt bike and sold it when I had kids. I didn't get another bike until my youngest got married last year.

Is it hard to get to the front 2 plugs. I haven't changed mine, but just looking at them, it appears you'd have to remove the tank to get to them.

How do you manage?
eazyduzzit replied to FROG MAN's topic in Computer help and tips for using this site.
Frog Man, you hit on one of my pet peeves. I have 6 different username/passwords to keep up with at work. The reason they are different is that each program assigned my username, and I have to change my password about every couple of months. For a while, I used old girlfriends names as passwords, until I ran out (they won't let you reuse them). Now some of them make you use a combination word/symbol/number like Burgy Mon said. The problem with these is that there is no way to remember them, so you have to write them down. I see co-workers passwords written down everywhere. Is this more secure??? One thing that bugs me is some of these programs shouldn't even be password protected. No one in their right mind would sneak onto my computer to look up truck parts. Mine is not a high level position. Ok, that is just at work. My home computer has it's own set of passwords to keep up with. Luckily most of them can be remembered by Firefox, so I don't have to scratch my head every time I come here to talk about motorcycles. -
441 Gatlinburg/Cherokee deaths in Smokies
eazyduzzit replied to Venturous Randy's topic in Watering Hole
I've been driving that road since I was a teenager. They don't just look for bears from their cars. I've seen 'em stop in the middle of the road and get out to take pictures. If you ride in the Smokies, be ready to round a curve and see a stopped car in the middle of the road, or going 3 MPH.- 6 replies

Columbo, no question about it. -
venture has no heating option
eazyduzzit replied to Bobcatpat's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I rode all last winter with just leather chaps, leather jacket and heated gloves. There is a problem with the Gerbing gloves, so 1 thumb gets cold, but other than that I'm pretty comfortable, The lower fairings direct enough heat to my feet to keep them warm. The coldest morning I rode to work was 22 degrees. -
Same thing I thought. Anything with magic in the name, you can bet it's designed to magically remove money from your wallet.

There are no free dogs. I was given a Lab puppy a couple of years ago. after about a year, I figured up the costs of vet bills, invisible fencing, chewed up shoes, rugs, door frames, wiring harnesses, eyeglasses, etc. and we had $3500 invested in this free dog. I don't care though, when I see how excited he gets when I come home or when I get his frisbee or his ball out, it's worth every penny.

Thanks Iowa Guy, I have had the same thoughts about this site.

Mine has a slight whine when I wear a half helmet. If I wear my 3/4 helmet I can't hear it.

I have been to a lot of states, and I still think my little slice of heaven here in East TN. beats most of them. I did enjoy the moutains and canyons in AZ. I've always wanted to see the redwoods out west, and hope I live long enough to do it one day.

Silly question on 2000 MM venture

Thanks!

When I bought my bike, it had a set of the Longhorn Offset Dually highway pegs on it. I don't like them. I can't seem to get them adjusted where I want them. I would like to trade them for a pair of straight (no offset) pegs similar to these. If you are interested let me know.

New guy needs advice
eazyduzzit replied to JMOSS's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Some have an annoying whine or chirp. It's nothing to worry about, just annoying. Most have it, but some are worse than others. -
I've seen that video a dozen times and still don't know why he ran into that hole. I always look at scenery when I'm riding, but just because I look at a river I'm not going to ride into it.

Look What Annie Did Today....................

Way to go Annie! You look good on that thing. -
Maybe a jar of Vaseline.

I would bolt it back onto the bike and try bending without heat, if it isn't bent too badly. It's hard to tell from here.

Same here in Knoxville. He must have gotten his days mixed up. They're closed Mondays, open Tues.

So how'd you like it?

This is just a reminder to everyone to be careful when you visit "the Dragon". There was another article in the Knoxville News Sentinel today about a woman from Canada who lost her life Sunday. She was riding a Suzuki (didn't list the model) she ran off the left side of the road and hit a tree. It seems like it's getting more and more common to read about these deaths in the paper. I know some people think "It was just a crazy biker", but she was a 52 yr. old woman somebody's daughter, and probably someone's wife and someone's mother.
