I have been thinking about buying a Venture or Wing and selling my 2005 RSTD. I thought I would throw this out there in case someone with a Venture might have thought he might rather have a Tour Deluxe. I would like to find one at least as new as mine in excellent condition. I would expect to pay the difference in value of course.

some of those cars were going so fast, you'd be dead before you saw them coming.

Name my bike? I still call my cat "kitty" and he's been here 13 years...

I'm sorry, I should have been more clear. It is definitely engine noise. It even does it when sitting still revving up the engine.

In your post, you never said what it is you don't like about the RSV. I like Valkyries too, but I've never ridden one. What is it you like about them over the RSV?

I would like to listen to radio on my RSTD. I bought an IMC intercom which has a radio connection. I ran the wire under the fuel tank to my handlebars, so I could mount my iphone and use it for internet radio. It works, but only sitting still. It has so much engine noise in it that you cannot hear the radio. I'm interested in what others do.

We have the previously mentioned Stearns suits from Walmart. They are sufficient, and not very expensive.

Mine is an '05. I added the chrome fender tips, Luggage rack, Flanders pull back handlebars, Custom World International drivers back rest, Highway pegs, Billet air cleaner covers/ K & N air filters, You can't tell in the picture, but Jake's ball is at my feet. He's standing there waiting for me to throw it. -
2008 Venture performance

Like everybody says, it will move! I was on a trip last week and we pulled over on the interstate to get something from the saddlebags. When I pulled out, I was up to 90 + in no time and in 3rd gear. On the way home, we cruised at 80 to 85 for 325 miles. It's a great interstate bike. -
Was the $1500 for the wife or the bike?

Cornering a 2005 RSTD
eazyduzzit replied to EFudd's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
I've had my '05 RSTD over a year and haven't dragged the boards but twice. Both times it was the board that dragged and not the stand I don't understand why yours is dragging. Has it been lowered? -
We have used ours twice. The first time was on a trip to Daytona. It worked going down, but on the way back nothing. Sierra replaced the main intercom part under the seat. The second time was this week. My left ear went out, then her left went out, then my right started working on and off, then hers did the same. We stopped at their shop in Troy, OH and they replaced both headsets, but I don't want to do this every time we take a trip.

I have a 2005 RSTD and I bought an intercom for it last November. I bought it so Karen & I could talk on longer trips. So far We've only taken 2 long trips. Once to Daytona in November, and we just got back from Ohio. So far we've had to send the intercom unit in for replacement, and on this week's trip we were close enough to just stop at Sierra Electronics where we bought the intercom, and had both headsets replaced because the speakers went out. The people at Sierra are nice enough, but it's a real inconvenience to have it not work when you need it. Did I just get a lemon, or is this brand just junk?

That's exactly what I was thinking.

I have to agree with Frogmaster on this. It's the first I've heard of it happening, and there are a lot of these bikes on this forum. Maybe your dealer should share what he's smoking.

I could tell you some of my horror stories about how Jake (our chocolate Lab) tried to eat my glasses and my new F150 when he was a pup, but I'll save it for another time.

Yeah, we love our Vols. I hope you're right Danimal. Just a few years ago we didn't have much of a basketball team.
