  1. Haven't had time to put the tree up yet.....Can't see the house from the road so I've never bothered decorating outside.
  2. I'll take a little time and pray for the best possible outcome for you.
  3. Wishing all of my VR family a very HAPPY THANKSGIVING. Let's all take some time today to contemplate our blessings and let those we love know that we're thankful that they're in our lives. One of the things I'm grateful for is my VR family. ENJOY THE DAY !!!
  4. People are all over the map with this, from NO symptoms to very serious. You seem a pretty healthy fella. I'm betting you'll get through it just fine. Praying for a good outcome for you. I had it twice, was no big deal.
  5. It's not the sort of thing you'd expect.
  6. Bada$$. After you've broken it in, let us know how you like it. I might have to get me one of those.....
  7. We typically prefer to tow the bike to any events, but didn't attend any this year. We usually tow with the Expedition. As it turns out, I bought a pair of used, loaded rear tires for my old (ancient) Ford backhoe. I drove up to Cleveland for them, and loaded them on the trailer and headed home. I was about to turn onto the freeway on ramp, but heard a "creak" I didn't understand, so I went to the gas station I saw just up the road to take a last look to be sure everything was ok, and as I turned into the station, the trailer hitch let go. Not something I'd expected. Had to have Lisa drive the pickup up (2hrs) so I could tow the trailer home. I ripped the hitch completely off and headed home. I climbed around under there, finding that the frame is solid, but that cheesy hitch (factory) had completely rusted through. Musta been made in China. I tried a few junkyards, but found that this is a common problem and replacements are really hard to find, 'cause they're all badly rusted. The aftermarket hitch manufacturers don't build them as "This vehicle comes with a factory hitch" Ford considers it part of the frame. SO....I had a piece of heavy channel laying around that looked like it would make a pretty good hitch, so that's what I did. I'll guarantee it's stronger than the factory one ever was.
  8. Wow...what terrible news. I think Marcarl said it best. Thoughts and prayers are with him.
  9. Thankful that it wasn't worse. Thoughts and prayers up for a full / speedy recovery.
  10. I wonder if it'd be worth trying to have it welded. (TIG)
  11. Wow ..... Not a question that I'd ever expect to be asked. I don't rightly know what it'd take, but for someone to give an accurate answer, it may help to know if it's a first gen or second gen. I dunno if the bottom ends are the same or not. I think the first gens MKI were made from 83 to sometime in 84 or 85, First gen MKII from 85 to 93, then second gen from 99 or so until 2013.
  12. Been doin' a one armed cleanout of the garage.
  13. Too bad...Weather's been great....
  14. Like Woody said....better to ask forgiveness than permission. I'm up to 6. Most of them will need the carbs gone over from sitting. One is a resto project. Looking forward to having time to work on this stuff when I retire.
  15. Can you elaborate on what you didn't like about it?
  16. Been watching with interest, and normally I may have some ideas, but just last week I had surgery to reattach a torn tendon in my right bicep......I think I'm done riding for this season. Won't be back to work 'till mid October.
  17. Thoughts and prayers. Can you post her first name.... Nice to have a name when offering up prayers.
  18. What....That?......That's been there for 3 months.....I'm sure I've told you about it....
  19. Kinda' like my Ford Expedition where they have a drain tube from the sunroof that terminates INSIDE the rocker panel on each side.
  20. Feels Great to get out for a ride like that. Good for you....I'm "Jelly".
  21. I live about an hour North of C-bus, and will be working in Upper Arlington tomorrow, which is a 'burb of North C-bus. I can try to swing by sometime during the day tomorrow if you'd like.
  22. Wow. Dunno what to say. Obviously, I...We all...wish you the best and hope and pray for the best possible outcome for you. This site has brought together a great bunch of people....maybe some not so great, but they seem to slip away over time. Your firm but gentle oversight has kept the site civil and the members friendly, which is a rare thing these days. If I weren't such a 'puter dummy I'd think about trying to help out, but my lack of tech skills would likely do more harm than good. I'm hoping one of the members with the time and wherewithal would be willing to share or take on the burden that you've handled with such benevolence. Whatever happens....May God Bless and Keep You.
  23. Alrightie then.....
  24. Some freinds and I took our annual ride up to the cabin together. Had a great time. Can't beat friends you've had since childhood. Only got caught in the rain once, lol...DOWNPOUR for about a half hour, but we dried out and went back out. Based near Sinnamahoning, travelled a lot of 2 lanes through the mountains, went back to the cabin for adult beverages and cigars. Had a nice bull elk hanging around the whole weekend, ....didn't seem to mind us at all. Already looking forward to next year.
