I'm officially laid off. First time I've tried to apply for unemployment bennies since 1988. Turns out due to high volume the website is down. lol At least I'll be able to get some things fixed / done around in the house until this thing blows over. Now....where's the duct tape.

Came across this: Governor Dewine issued a Stay at Home Order. I'm not sure that he can legally do this without being under a state of Martial Law....I'm not sure it's enforcable. Crazy times. Since it didn't actually rain here today, I took some time to take stock and formulate a plan to take control of all this crap I've lying around,...inside and out. Amazing how much junk I've accumulated over the years and it all needs to go. Problem is it's mostly good stuff, but I'm so overwhelmed by the sheer volume I'm going to have to get a rolloff and just start loading it up. No time for yard sales. I'm all for taking stock of my well apportioned liquor cabinet, but I think I had my first experience with gout a couple of months ago and it was a bit of a life changing experience, and reading that alcohol can contribute to it, I've stopped drinking at home. No more nightcaps. I've decided to limit my alcohol intake to social gatherings, and an occasional beer with dinner. So far no relapse, and I'm not wanting to have one. We all have our pains to deal with, but that was a whole new level of ouchie.

Sound advice, but, moving forward, ....which ones are the "real" conspiracies that I should focus on?

I do not consider the "thinking man" sheep....quite the opposite. Critical thought is what would prevent panic / overreaction.

Sure it's a virus....I never said anything different. What I said is the reaction is so overblown that it makes no sense. An average flu season kills what....30 to 80,000 a year in the US alone,and we've never had nearly the same response. I'm spitballin' here, but I'm sure you'll check those numbers....I'm watching "A big hand for the little lady". Y'all go ahead and freak if makes you feel your'e on top of this, but I refuse to.

That's a GREAT bakery. Wife's made me drive the 2 1/2 hours to get cakes there before. I'm from the Y-town area originally, and still consider it home. ANYHOO. I've thought it through and I'm done with this media driven panic. I'll give the same consideration I do with any other flu season....stay away from old folks.....and give everyone a wide berth. No more hand sanitizing...just the normal washing when dirty. No more feeling like I should be following the rest of the sheeple, comfortable in the knowledge that this flu season is not much different than any other year, aside from the media driven sheeple panic. DONE.

I've pretty much decided that this is a manufactured crisis, using the new flu strain as an excuse. Someone decided that the US economy had to be knocked down a few pegs...maybe have a reset....regardless of the cost. I can see NO common sense reason for the level of panic. Media driven, herd mentality panic. People need to get a grip.

​It seems to me that ANY conspiracy would be based on logic, and supportive facts would be difficult to find. That's why it'd be called a conspiracy and not a news story.

No....I hadn't considered that, but now that you brought it up......

I may be the fool for my unwillingness to believe this is worthy of the hype / panic. I believe the suggestions we're getting to wash, sanitize and social distance are more than adequate for the vast majority of us, and I believe that anyone not living in a cave would give the aged or ill special consideration......and that goes for colds, flue covid19, or whatever. It's common sense that when you're sick, common courtesy dictates that you give others a wide berth. I still don't understand how the testing would change that. SO I'm not worried, although I do the hand wash sanitize thing more than normal. Wife is a bit concerned because she's a corporate level employee of a major grocery retailer, and she's being told that corporate people will be working in stores with the public to keep up with the demands of restocking, serving customers, and so on. All hands on deck, as they say. I told her to use common sense, but if we get it, no biggie, we're young enough and healthy enough that it shouldn't be an issue for us. I will say, that we do have a couple of elderly friends and we're staying away from them until this is over. The conspiracy theorist in me says that all this hype and panic doesn't pass the smell test, but I can't imagine what it could be about, other than some sort of attempt to damage political opponents.

LOL I do get the TP thing....it makes people feel that they're doing SOMETHING to prepare for a potentially bad event that may be coming their way. The part I don't get is why people think it's so important to get tested, when the treatment is the same as the good old fashioned flu. Plus, look at the history of the influenza mortality rate, and in the US it's been in the tens of thousands yearly as the status quo for the flu. So...back to the question....other then for tracking info, ....what's the point of getting tested....whatcha gonna do about it anyway?

That's another of the many things I don't understand. What good are the test kits anyway? From what I've seen, this is akin to a mild case of the flu, so whatcha gonna do different anyway....

I don't know that this IS our first round. If it's Covid 19, ....doesn't that mean it's our 19th round???

I've been trying to avoid hearing anymore about the Coronavirus, with little luck. Now people are hoarding TP? Shutting down businesses, and schools....restricting travel when it's already everywhere...??? There's more going on here then we're being told. Why are folks freaking out over this when the flu as it's been has claimed tens of thousands of life every year, and yet no-one freaks out over that. This whole thing doesn't pass the smell test.

Got a title for a KZ1000 about 22 years ago. It was a bike that was a failed insurance fraud attempt. Guy sold it without title then claimed it was stolen...then when the insurance investigator talked to a neighbor and found that the "Stolen" bike was seen to be loaded on a trailer by the "Victim", they denied the claim. The guy the bike was sold to wasn't interested in giving it back so the bike went through a couple of owners, then sat in limbo until I bought it about 6 years later. I loaded it up and took it to a State Patrol Barracks and told the trooper the story and asked if he could find the original owner was and all he could tell from the serial number was that the bike didn't show up as stolen. I believe it was Delaware where this title service was located. At least at that time, in Delaware, for bikes / cars more than 10 years old, a title was not needed to transfer ownership, so they made a business out of helping folks get titles in such awkward situations. I had to (on paper) "sell" them the bike for a dollar, then they'd "sell" it back to me with a notarized bill of sale for the same dollar. I then took the bill of sale to an Ohio BMV, and they issued me a title for the bike. The whole process took a couple of weeks for the mail to go back and forth, but I ended up getting the bike for $500 plus the $275 I paid for the title "service". It was a 79 KZ1000 MKII with 4,000 miles on it. A real tire frying beast....fast for it's time, but not the best handling bike I'd ever ridden. Hung onto it for a couple of years then sold it for $1800.
