wet riding issue
timk replied to chocking's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
My 86 had drain holes where the plugs screw in. Check them with a wire, if'n that don't fix it then the other posts will. -
I have a Nolan N Com with the flip down sunshade and the inner fog shield(the latter I haven't installed). I especially like the ratchet chinstrap, very fast on and off, and secure. Sunshield is especially good for goin thru a tunnel in beight daylight. It's supposed to be polarized. I had a cheap modular that the chinbar latch broke slightly after a year. The latch on the Nolan took a little while to get accustomed to, as you have 2 latch buttons to deal with, one to unlock the main latch, then lift the main latch, index finger first, then thumb. It's second nature now. One thing that I didn't like about the Nolan was there is no "D ring" to hang the helmet over a lock, so I had to fashion one.

just came back from a test ride on the FJR. New front tire, 1 1/2 oz of the beads, 80mph,no vibration. This is just a initial feeling out, more updates to follow, when the tire gets half way worn. The manufacter says you can add them thru your tire valve, but I have 90degree stem, so had to install during mounting. I have a different type(external) on the motorhome with good results, so i thought I'd give the beads a try.

I was talking to my brother last night, who drives a semi. He had just put in a little over $900 in fuel. No wonder everything is goin up.

I bought a pair of Fieldsheir(sp) in the silver color. They can be worn from hot to cold. using the thermal liner in the cold.

The problem with most tire plugs is they require you to enlarge the hole to insert them. Thus, you disturb way too much of the tires cords. I use a plugger that doesn't require a reamer with excellent results.

Difficult Finding Neutral

A trick I used on my 86 was when in 1st gear, let the clutch out till you hear the RPM's drop, pull lever in while pressure is on the shift lever. Works every time. -
Scrubbing Bubbles works good for the nooks and crannies when hand washing your bike. Don't let it dry before rinsing.

Maybe his hands don't get cold on those 5 mi trips he takes.

When you hit the brakes, the solonoids on your amti dive forks activate also. They use significent power. You could put them on a switch. -
I bought the one from Harbor Freight. Wouldn't work with a Fenda Extenda.

Get a can of Liquid Glass and use it per instructions on everything including the windshield. It performs on the windshield like rainX does on a car windshield. The hotter the surface is the better.

There's a pair on US40 around St Clairsville, and another pair on County rt 4. I'll stay clear of them till the put one of those super magnets in them. A good idea, that needs some improvement.

Me being the dummie I am, I have 2 questions. 1 How much frustration for a pc user is the switch. 2. Will my printer/other wxternal stuff work with a Mac. My granddaughter got a Mac notebook for Christmas and loves it. I'm leaning that way. Are there any deals out in cyberland for Macs?

My daughter lives in Ft Mill SC, which is just across the border from Charlotte. Don't know about the place you spoke of. But it's less congested than Charlotte, has great gas prices, and is lots warmer than Ohio. Not that it can;t be cold there, but from my observations about Charlotte the cold periods don't last long. I may be wrong, but I think SC doesn't have state incomr tax, but i imagine they'll get you some other way.
