1. We need several down here in San Antone. Every robbery seems to take place in a stolen car. Now they are using them to drive through the front of buildings and then snatch and run
2. OK, I am not a LEA, but got this from a friend, It looks like if you are legal you have no problem but don't be a car thief in B.C. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e_a4c9NUn3M]YouTube - Automatic License Plate Recognition - RCMP Canada[/ame]
3. According to our MSF instructor he was dragged this way for many miles
4. I have a picture of a crotch-rocket rider that hit the back of a semi-trailer at high speeds and lodged himself there. The truck driver didn't even feel the impact
5. We all run over something once in awhile, but usually will stop when it's safe and check the vehicle out.....especially if it starts to run a little different. A woman ran over a mattress but was in too much of a hurry to stop. The mattress got caught underneath and started what she described as a "slight driveline shimmy at high speeds". She still didn't stop until it caused a hole in the fuel tank. THAT is what caused the vehicle to stop. The tow truck driver looked underneath and this is what they saw when they got it on the lift at the shop...........I wonder what a BIG shimmy would feel like? 6. Between the Grand Canyon and Yellowstone, you have some beautiful National parks all though Utah and into Wyoming, Don't forget to check some of them out. Lake Powell is pretty cool also
7. Congratulations Buddy, I just retired from the Army after 25 Years, and My Son-in-law is a Chinook pilot in the Army, Between the 2 of Us we have 3 Tours to Iraq and 2 to Afghanistan. I was his recruiter and now if I was passing him I would have to salute. (that won't happen ) Wilkie
8. Here's a couple of mine , the top is a Springfield 1903, MFG in 1918 with a birdseye maple stock and CR Douglas barrell chambered 6.5X55. It has not been shot since being sporterized in 1967. It came into the pawnshop from an estate with all the records and reciepts. The other is one of several Martini-Henry's that I sent back from Afghanistan while I was there. The reciever is stamped 1833, but most of the dates are fake, so that Customs will allow them to be shipped back to the states Wilkie
9. :scared:This guy purchased this Barrett single shot 50 cal from my wifes pawn/gun shop in Vernal Utah and was shooting at metal plates in "the honda hills" BTW he was from Oklahoma so it wasn't the water in Utah that made him foolish, just being an oil rigger with nothin to do, [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ABGIJwiGBc]YouTube - Guy hit in head with .50 caliber ricochet[/ame]
10. It is on my To Do list for this year also Wilkie
11. I think this is the same thing that happened to Lonestar (JB) and I when we rode a couple of weeks ago. He caught his too. But I think his was the bracket holes. Anyway, I went home and checked mine out to make sure I am good to go. I am not as good a catch as y'all.
12. Count me in for one, if we get enough interest Wilkie
13. When JB (lonestarmedic)gave me my bell, I didn't want to let it get filthy, so I have it zip tied to the left handlebar on the clutchline, I can hear it ring as it goes down the road, but I understand it's a little high to keep all the gremlins out, but knock on wood, so far so good
14. Donation sent, I am currently (in my mind) riding up from Roosevelt Utah through the Uintah mountains over to Jackson Hole and on to Yellowstone.

16. I saw a picture or two, Sledge hammers and cold chisels will have to wait. Although I'm sure that a good time was had..........If they can remember it the next day.But I will be at the next Maintenance day that we have in South Texas, as long as there is food and good company involved. Sorry about the Venturers hat though, it came with the bike, Wilkie
17. I saw Lonestarmedic during the week and asked if he would help me get the carbs synced on the ol beast. He called on Friday and since yesterday was supposed to be kinda crappy we decided to make a quick job of it. First thing was to replace the plugs and wires. Those E-bay custom wires are sweeeeeet! (unfortunately they sent yellow). I was determined not to have to strip it to the frame so that made poor JB's job a whole lot harder. Then we got to the battery box. It had never been removed and liked it that way. I I rounded one bolt off, broke another but it came off with only a little skin off both of our nuckles. (that will be another day to repair that). Everything went great after that until we started to sync the carbs. It still had a backfire at about 3500 RPM,s but with the diaphagms still on order I expected it. Then We start cleaning up. JB says "how many plugs did you buy?" "Well duuuh! i needed 4, so I bought 4." Why is there still a brand new one in the box? I had forgotten to replace the last plug while he was threading the wire. Installed that and OMG (oh my Gosh) the backfire was almost gone and I gained 200 RPM's on the idle. The carbs will need another sync after I replace the diaphragms anyway, but between that and fixing the intercom system. He was a miracle worker. Thanks again JB, you are awsome.
18. I found this little homemade trailer on E-bay, but don't want to bid on it if it is too heavy to pull. It was designed to be pulled by a goldwing 1500, so I feel fairly safe. Item # 320355058863
19. I hope whoever got it gets to know the website, I would like to get him (or her) hooked too. Especially with such a good looking bike

21. Walmart always has a great deal on a tent. My wife and I have purchased a couple that were just fine in the price range that you mentioned. When I started hunting more often in Utah, I bought one from Kirkhams outdoor products. They build the best tent that money can buy, but you pay for it also. Our scout troop has been using the springbar tent for 15 years and they still work perfectly. It is a patented design so no one else makes them. http://www.kirkhams.com/depts/camping.htm Anyone who uses them a lot will be very pleased. I plan on giving mine to my grandkids in a few more years when the only camping we do will be out of our fifth wheel. Wilkie
22. I can't get the link to work, so here's the number 320353008884 although, the bidding is now out of my range. of course $4500 with the side car may be a great deal Wilkie
23. Oh no, The Ebay guys have got me again, A White 86 with side car and under 30,000 miles. My wife would kill me, but it would mean a trip to New York to pick it up. It is Perty though Wilkie:178:
24. I wanted that. I just didn't get to my computer to bid higher. Oh well it's all charity. Wilkie
25. Lonestarmedic and I went to the Southwest Texas Bike show on Sat. We wanted to go to the Maint. day in Houston but didn't have enough time to get there and back. We were the first few through the door and went over to the Yamaha display. We took out a couple of brand new bikes (him on a FJR and myself on a RSV). I enjoyed it but couldn't get used to the different peg placement. Also the O/D forces you to run a gear lower to keep any motor torque. It satisfied my curiousity and kept me from dropping another $10,000 on a new one. It means I just have to keep the ol beast running that much longer. They let us take them (convoy style) about 15 miles round trip. That FJR looked like it was just waiting to be opened up though. JB said he hardly cracked the throttle at all. Sweeeet. We took a little (100 mile) trip around the hill country, had lunch in Bandera and came back. Sorry Utadventure........I grew up in Utah and know how long (short) the riding season is there. We had to stay off the bikes for PART of January because it dropped to 40 degrees
