1. I want to thank all my fellow vets for all that they are sacrificing for my continued freedom. SFC (ret) Wilkie
2. Found a new set of the wings on E-bay, but they are in Canada. I don't need them but someone else might 180358642846
3. That was a great link, although it gave a pretty poor representation of some of the bikes. I'm sure yours that you donated probably would be on the upper end of the spectrum. That cream and white unit was gorgeous though. someone stole that one even at over 4 grand. I loved the question though.......5 or 6 speeds, how many cylinders and shaft or belt drive. Do some research before you bid dude

7. Sorry to rip off a Waylon song, but we had a pretty good time today. I met up with Tom in Blanco and we rode over to the KOA outside of Fredricksburg to get to met JerryW. I have not met anyone from the forum that has not been great people. (I think Don must have ESP and screens the riff-raff out) although I am sure a few of you might be a little shady:rasberry:. We went on down to Luchenbach, but the place was empty. My theory is that everyone partied so hard last night that they were still asleep at 9 AM. The entire Luchenbach loop takes less than 2 minutes. (Don't blink) We then took RR 1376 (I think) down through Sisterdale back to 281. 150 Miles round trip for me, but beautiful scenery and I heard that time spent riding your bike with friends is not deducted from your time on earth. I think thats why some of us are so dadgummed oldfile:///C:/Users/brian/AppData/Local/Temp/moz-screenshot-1.jpg. Since everyone likes pictures. I made an attempt to video tape while riding behind Tom but haven't looked at it yet. If it is OK I will sned a snippet to the videos. 8. Is Beer30 till making them, I would be in for a set for a first gen, no matter what the price
9. OOPS I meant the Fusion Hybrid
10. Ford has that new Focus Hybrid that gets as good of gas mileage as the insight. I don't know about it's quality in comparison to the Honda but Car and Driver loved it a couple of months ago
11. I stopped by the local Honda shop today to pick up some new gloves (50% off sale) and started looking at a 05 Goldwing ABS.Salesman almost had me sold on it if he hadn't tried to lowball me on my bike. Less than 21,000 miles, runs like a scalded cat. one small scratch on the right bag and some minor scratches on one of the bags from falling off at a low speed. He said he would give me $2650 on trade, but it was the way he said it. He said he had called his other (yamaha) dealer and they would give him $1200 for the bike and he had another $1450 that he could play with on the Goldwing. I counter offered him that I would KEEP my bike and he could take $1500 of the price of the wing. $13,285 plus TT&L he said no, my bike had to be in the equation. I saw him drooling over my bike but even at $2650 he was stealing it from me, and then IF he "had" $1450 to drop down on the bike, why would he go an extra $50 to make the sale and I would keep the VR.
12. I guess that Utah must have swallowed Goose up, we got a daily report when he was on his high adventure around the Texas border. I hope you are alright buddy. And if you get back in time sneak over to the M&E on the 27th
13. Tom, Let me know what day you are getting together with them. I will be riding up there Saturday morning and returning that night. would love to see you again
14. I saw a VR winshield for sale on E-bay that had them attached to the windshield. If he hadn't wanted $80 for shipping I would have bid on it. I looked like factory and was about 10 inches long along both sides of the shield. My wife c/o the same thing but I am trying to decide on a taller windshield to se if that helps
15. I noticed last week that my cap was getting really had to get off and on, so I sprayed just a little squirt of silicone on each tab, then noticed the screws didn't look right. sure enough they needed tightening.
16. a few of the animals look eerily familiar
17. that trunk light will drain a battery pretty fast if the switch stays on. Like most of you I disconnected it unless I need it
18. This probably should have been put in the jokes section, but it kinda reminds me of a few of us here. (names removed to protect the guilty) You probably won’t understand a > word, but the video’s a hoot > There are trees that grow in > Africa which, once a year, produce very juicy fruits that > contain a large percentage of alcohol. Because there is a > shortage of water at that time, as soon as the fruits are > ripe, animals come there to help protect themselves from the > heat. What happens next, you can watch for yourselves. > This is real video from a French documentary about > Africa . [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=erPdVtCHEe4]YouTube - Jungle alcohol tree1[/ame]
19. AAAAAAHHHHHHH. That was so special:bawling: Makes me want to share my feelings with Oprah and Dr Phil. (involuntary full body shutter)
20. I vote for Squidley's............................because it is sooooo true.
21. I understand. I had just finished the carbs on my bike and was taking it out of the garage when mother nature opened up the flood gates. We need the water here right now, but could it have waited a couple of hours?
22. Thanks again, I got all 4 done in about 2 hours even with cleaning everything good and then putting it back together with the stainless hex screws. I took the advice to coat them with rtv silicone to try to keep the chemical reaction down between the stainless and the aluminum. Just as I was warming it up, the sky opened up and it is raining HARD. Oh well, I didn't find any pin holes or anything in any of them, and I have a sneaking suspicion that the prior owner had changed them awhile back. Now I just need to fine tune with the carb sync. Every time I work on this bike, I respect how lovingly the guy I bought it from took care of it. He is a lot more Type A than me, I changed the oil and found out that he only used synthetic in all the cases thoughout.
23. thanks for letting me know Rick, I was worried that if you shipped mine back to me this week it would sit on the front porch and get stolen. I can wait. Thanks for all you do for us
24. BTW, Micarl, is that a Gemini SST on your avatar?
