Excellent Lou! Are in for doing that? It's not on my list. Glad you had a great trip and we will see you in Oct. at the fall run. Oh! Maybe you should be looking for a job as you are looking more like a full time biker all the time.:sign just kidding:Enjoy retirement. I'm Jealous!

I am trying to get an exhaust leak repaired under warranty today and went to a dealer who is not Venture authorized? I did not know that. He could not do any work on a Venture at all. ( not even an oil change)He gave me another dealer to see. I asked him if he was going to get Venture certified and he told me no and that the Venture was no longer being made and there is no 2009 model!!!! Any one heard any different?

Enjoy your trip lou. Sounds like a good one. We stayed at the Holiday express in Dubois last year on our way home from Vogel. We really liked the ride through Pa. See you at the fall ride if not before. Ride safe.

Thanks Don: I received the bells yesterday and just in time as last week a gremlin ripped the one I had right off the bike. All that is left is the ring that it was hanging on. Thanks again Don.

He looks pretty relaxed Dave. Are you sure he wasn't drinking with you the night before and you told him you would smuggle him into Canada???:whistling:Is he living with you now?I can see a visit from immigration coming soon!!!!

If the bike is a 2004 it is the same as mine which is white and my VIN# is similar to yours so??????? Mine is not a midnight nor is it insured as one.Maybe just an error on the VIN . Post a picture so we can see it. Also the midnights have more chrome than the standard. Front forks are chromed and the handlebar controls are chrome as well. Hope this helps?

We will be there. Dianne has told them she wants the time off work so we will see what happens.Hope the weather is better than last year?????

Prayers sent that all goes well for all involved and a speedy recovery.

Great pics Carl. There's some roads I'm not sure I'd want to be on at anytime!!! Glad you had a good trip and are home safe and sound.

Steve: There are actually two different colours for the RSTD and the Venture for 2008 as they no longer make the midnight. The RSV s and the RSTD s are the same Dark Metallic Bluish Gray but the RSTD is Dark Metallic Purplish Blue and the RSV is Very Dark Metallic Red. If you go to Yamaha's website they show the bikes. Hope this helps.

Lowell: Not sure what you mean about the roads open? We (TFD69,Marion Relic and Dianne)just got back from a 21 day trip that included 9 days in Newfoundland. There are no roads that I know of that close that would limit a trip to Newfoundland at any time?We had great weather that was hot at times but my advice to you is to pack warm clothes as it is normally cool at that time of year(60 and below at night)After we get organized and back to normal I think TFD69 and I will post pics of our trip. Too many things to do at home for now. You will love Newfoundland. It is worth the trip. Take care: Relic

Wiring diagram for rear extra lighting
relic replied to Brian D.'s topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
If it is the light from DiamondR you have to remove the seats to get at the wiring but not the trunk. The colour does not matter unless you are trying to match colours. I think the light we put on was yellow and blue or red??? We used red for both wires as it was all we had at the time. The instructions with the light are very good. THe bike wires are Blue =Tail and Yellow = Brake if I recall correctly. -
Have a great ride Mike and Tina and be safe. Hope to see you sometime this year.

Yeah that Never locked a bike in my life! These are not Harleys and it is Harley owners stealing from Harley owners because of the value.

The Video won't help Dave. It would only show you pulling people out of the water. We will miss you at the rally but for those coming bring your bucket list and Dave will help you fulfill it. Even if it is not on your list (White water rafting)Dave will make it happen,he's just that kind of guy!:happy34:Have fun all.

Thanks Squid as you know thats what I run. You remember the crack in mine last year just before Vogel so one had to wonder. It makes me a little more at ease as I like the tires and it is the second set for me. I am going to try the Avons this year when I change the tires as I have heard nothing but good things from people that have them. Thanks again Brad and we hope to see you guys soon. John and Dianne

Lou I know its been a long winter and Stephen and I worked on the bikes last sunday puting new toys on(TFD's bike- Fender rail,Rear diamondr led light,Radiator grill) but I don't think I can get out of the subdivision as there is a ton of salt and sand still on the roads.I added a few things to mine this winter also(diamondr backrest, shorty windshield,Trailer hitch). Glad you made it back safe and hope it took some of the anxiety out. I started mine yesterday and it sounded sweet but I will leave it alone for a little longer.Looking forward to riding with you this summer. Say hi to Vicki for Dianne and we will catch you later.

Mine are wired to low beam and go off on high beam. They were wired from day one from the dealer. I do not know what purpose they serve once the high beam is on? I do not know the law but would not think it matters to them if they are on all the time or not as it is not a high beam light.

Our condolences to the family and friends. It's never easy. John and Dianne
