  7. OOPS, sorry I didn't read what you had for a bike RSTD. Here is what you may be looking for >http://www.ceebaileys.com/yamaha/royalstar05ws.html Looks like you can go to 22.5" 3" above stock. Bryan
  8. Hi Fortygeek, Yes there are taller windshields. I just purchased a 05 Venture my self from New York about 2 months ago. It has a "tall" windshield on it. I am 6' 6" and I look through it. This is a new experience for me as all the other bikes I have had were windshield less or just tall enough to block the wind from my chest. I am still trying to figure out if I want one this tall or not? On most "motorcycle" sites that sell parts even "Yamaha's" site under windshields have what you are looking for. And to remove and install the shield here is a good link to tell you what you need to do > http://www.venturers.org/Tech_Library/index.php?action=article&cat_id=002004&id=179 Hope this helps you and have a GREAT ride! Bryan
  9. My thought.......I think you guys /admin are doing a GREAT job with this site! I have read posts where you tell / worn people that things are going south and to stop or thread will disappear. What more could anyone ask? I just want to say KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK! It has got to be hard trying to cover every thread on here as I have a hard time trying to read all of them. I too have my personal views on a lot of things, but will not get into arguments. THIS IS A GREAT SITE AND YOU GUYS & GALS GOT MY VOTE TO KEEP DOING WHAT YOUR DOING!!!!!
  10. Someone hit the nail on the head when saying that different states get different fuel. I live in Iowa and EVERY time I ride in Wisconsin or Missouri I get 30 to 50 miles more on a tank! Does not matter what type of fuel I burn or what station just what state I fill up in! Go figure I live in a crappy fuel state! LOL
  11. It has been a few years since I had to re-take my motorcycle test at the DOT here in Iowa, do to a brain fart and forgot to renew my licence. But I do remember that the u-turn with feet on the peggs (that was required) was 12 feet with a 1000 cc or larger bike. I did it with a 1100 cc honda. The crotch rockets that were there would not turn as tight as my honda? I thought that was odd. One guy even walked it around the turn to show the DOT inpector that the cource was to tight for them. I have NO problem with the turning radius on the 05 RSV I just got, and I pull a trailer quit often. But I have to spread my legs to get the handle bars to come in some times in real tight situations.
  12. My thoughts and prayers for you & your family.
  13. You are in our thoughts & prayers.
  14. Our prayers are sent from IOWA! Takes a strong man to survive this, and a stronger one to recover. I don't know you personally, but from what I have read so far you have a lot of GOOD people that care for you and your recovery! I look forward to one day meeting you on a road in the future, and hopefully riding a ways with you!
  15. Ill try to get some better pictures but this is what I had on the computer. The stand I have is from "Northern tools" in Des Moines. Cost me $17.00 when I built the trailer in "97". If you would like to see it I go to Fairfield one or twice a month. I could pull it down if you would like?
  16. Hey, That thanks goes double for me too! I have been trying to figure out this for a while now. Guess the X was right sometimes you just got to ask. LOL

Started to go purchase a Harley then found I could have better at half the price:mo money:.......As the neighbor kid would say "DUH"! Glad I made the right choice!

    Asheville video

Great video! Makes me want to go back! Thanks!
  21. I have pulled a trailer for about 14 years now and with 3 different bikes. I would tell anyone going to purchase a hitch for a bike to get a "swivel hitch" or a "narrow shank ball". I have used the narrow shanked ball and on each bike and (with the help of a friend) lay the bike over to make darn sure I can corner and not have the trailer hold me up! If it ever did I would replace my narrow shanked ball with a swivel hitch before I ever pulled the trailer. That narrow shaft or swivel hitch will save your life.
