  1. Having to much fun, forgot it still needs gas every so often! Who knew? And on the Mississippi river ferry to Cassville, Wisconsin
  2. Not from there but here is a link you may find helpful? http://www.neworleansrestaurants.com/restaurants.html
  3. I don't know about the rest of you but........ I work and see everyone in my area still driving the same, I do too? (Why is gas going down then?) We have to many orders for product to fill and management says times are bad and lays off half of our plant? (If we can't fill orders why are we laying off?) Our customers can't get our product so now, they have to lay off. Our CEO sent out an e-mail to the whole company 3 months ago stating that we had 100% more sales this year than 3 years ago and 320% more profit!(Sounds like gouging the customer to me?) But Friday we were pulled into a meeting to tell us how bad it is and we were not going to get a raise this year? (It all the sudden went from the raise being a direct reflection of the past year to speculating a poor year next year so NO RAISE.) "Curious as to how you give a raise on something unknown? Guess this way we can never get a raise ever again cause all they have to do is preach gloom and doom?" Guess my point I am trying to make is, if the MEDIA says it is so, than it must be so? We have orders "many" but media says "BAD TIMES", so we lay off forcing our customers to lay off cause we can't get the product to them. (Seems to me "Media" cause our crisis here?) It's below zero for the past two days now. Read this was 10th coldest year for the planet since 1898? But media says "global warming" so by golly I am opening the windows cause I know they would not lie?????? Sorry had to vent, and wounder if anyone else sees this picture also?
  4. WOW Jefferson county is going "Shall Issue"? Had no idea HELL froze! I use to live in Henry county had a permit when there, lost it when I moved to Mahaska county. As for the qualifications it seems to be up to the county sheriffs here in Iowa. When I recieved mine I took the writen test but the sheriff did not even have me go to the range, he just gave me a 93% score and the permit to carry. GOOD LUCK! Hope Mahaska has change of heart then I will be legal.
  5. Does this tire make my butt look big? AND WHAT THE????
  6. Hello all!!! Well we been shooting this around for a while now with no date so, since I started this whole thing a while back, lets make the " Northern Iowa Meet & Eat" (with our neighbors to the north this time, if they behave,,,,,NOT). At > "The Other Place" 200 Highway 18 W., Clear Lake, Iowa 50428 (641)357-8118 January 10th at 1:00pm Looks to be a Pizza/Pasta style place with BEER! "Got the info off the internet so Iowawegian if I got the address or name wrong let us know?" I think 1:00pm will give us more room if needed as the "Lunch" rush crowd will be thinning out, and for anyone coming from any distance they will have time to get there. Anyone is welcome to come no mater what or even if you ride. I want to meet & put a face to some people that I see & read about on here. So if that is you come on up, down, over, oh just come to the "Other Place on the 10th of January in Clear Lake Iowa for some talk and fun with friends!!! HOPE WE GET SOME FRIENDS TO SHOW!!!! SEE YOU THERE!!!!! Bryan
  7. I would like to meet other riders too. I think it was said that after the Holidays it would be better for some (for me too) so that is why I may have suggested January. But if we have one in January that doesn't mean we couldn't do it again in February and / or March:lightbulb: ? We could hold one in Clear Lake and get some of the Minnesota riders to join us. Then the next month maybe have one closer to Illinois and get some of them to come too? Sorry I don't want to ride the bike in the snow and crap so to me it would be great to meet and maybe do a little planning for summer? As for Sunday that would be OK too, but it would take away maybe a "weekend getaway" for someone having cabin fever? The Clear Lake one I was planning on just spending the night up there and drive home Sunday, maybe see some sights, drive some different roads? My long range weather forecast thingy only goes to January 3rd right now, and has a small chance of snow then. As for date what about the 10th of January at the "Other Place" that Iowawegian suggested? Cerbius, Cherberus oh heck the biker formally known as Black Owl:stickpoke: says Iowawegian may get ejected from anyplace else.
  8. I could see a M&E here! Sure I may never leave,,,,but I would be happy.
  9. Sorry to hear of your mishap. I am an old Iowa farm boy that grew up riding in plowed fields, hay fields & gravel and dirt roads. Rode down gravel roads "new gravel" at 50 & 60 mph with the back end just swaying from side to side. (Young and stupid!) Learned all about gravel, some times the hard way. Now days I hit corners so if I see gravel on the pavement I can still go upright and still make the corner. I have learned never to trust the corners. In the northern states they sand here in the winter and, well come spring a lot of the sand it still on the road. Not in the car tracks but where the state says you are to ride a motorcycle (middle of the lane). "You know where all the oil from cars and trucks drips, where all the dead animals wind up, where all the clods, rocks and anything that two wheels don't like, winds up!" You just learn to go slower, not lean as much and a void fast starts and stops till the heavy spring rains come and washes the sand off the roads. If I get my say so about it, I will teach my grand kids to learn to ride on the same stuff I did. I honestly think I learned the best way. I have rode with others that I was behind of, and in front of, that went down cause they didn't know what to look for as for signs in the road. Good luck and yes get back on as soon as you can. Just think of it as a learning experience. And NOW you know, if it looks ODD, don't take the chance!
  10. Here is one maybe you can get ideas from?
  11. You can try here it has running, brake and turn
  12. There's one thing good about being poor - its inexpensive. Success is a relative term - It brings so many relatives! Illiterate?... Write for FREE HELP! Oh yea? If you're so smart, why don't I understand you? She is so deep, get close and you can hear the ocean!
  13. My favorite is the little bar and those rings through ?????????? OOOOPS never mind we are talking about the bikes now right?
  14. Welcome aboard!!! Enjoy the ride!
  15. Here is a new "Rhino tire" jell they spray into your tire. Got a cool video with a motorcycle,,,,,, OK it's really a crotch rocket. They sell the tires pre-sprayed. I looked up the ones for my RSV > AM41 VENOM FRONT AV-323 SIZE & RATING: 150/80H 16 BLK 204.95 AM42 VENOM REAR AV-336 SIZE & RATING: 150/90HB 15 BLK - (Reinforced, Bias belted) 210.95
  16. Thought this post was pretty cool. But then maybe you already do this? No scratching the rim!! Tire change with NO tire irons!
  17. Sorry, couldn't let this Yamaha go by with out someone seeing it! I see a potential problem for big people like me. (Hey Snarly Bill it will go 0 to 60 in 3 seconds!!!!!) 2010 VENTURE
  18. The bad / good thing is you, I , we, are all different. Some like this, some like that. It is getting WAY to easy to "offend" someone / anyone with out even trying. Some like Harley's some like Honda's some like Yamaha's, some like it hot some like it cold, some like sun, some like snow, and so on and so forth. If any of US are offended WE do have the right and the ability and the intelligence to change the channel, flip to another thread, walk away...... The list goes on. You, nor I, nor any of us, can go through life let alone this site or any other, with out "offending" someone, some how, some where. That is what makes US all important and unique. If WE were all the same and thought the same WE would not need to have posts as WE would all think a like...... At any given time, you will not be able to do or talk about ANYTHING with out "offending" someone. I would say I'm sorry about the person upset about the Harley bashing. But it was probably by someone who deep down wants a Harley and can't afford it. Or as a "JOKE" just like I see the 1st and 2nd generation guys go at it. (Crap, I probably just offended any lady that rides by using the word guys.) See how easy it is? And I am sure I have just "offended" someone by my OVER use of commas and capital letters. Just my:2cents: Try to have a great day! And don't sweat over the petty stuff!
  19. But can we still talk about the women? Or it that to,,,,,,,, political LOL Auh shucks, lets just have fun:thumbsup2:
  20. Built mine in 1997, The RSV pulls it real good.
  21. Bill, I am trying real hard to be able to be down there for your rally. Still to early to tell for me, hope to make all three days but time will tell. Sorry I can't give a yes or no answer yet. But will a very strong maybe / hope so, work? Bryan

  24. BILL I AGREE WITH YOU 100%! Now with that said there is the other side and the other people that "ABUSED" the system & union rights. I took a job with John Deere about 8 years ago. Had the job for 8 months before I quit. Under the "NEW JOHN DEERE" union contract the workers "ME" could only make a total of $29,780.00 a year base pay (no overtime included). NO benefits when I would retire. All that was fine with me too! What was not fine with me was the "old timer" next to me would make his rate (which was WAY DIFFERENT than my set up) and lay against his welder and sleep for 4 to 6 hours a day! EVERY DAY! And he made $110,000 a year! The company could NOT do anything to him cause he had his rate done. Even THAT was not the reason I quit. I may be dumb but I am not stupid, at some point in the future there will be more "young" employee's than the "old timers". Most of the "young" guys felt the "old guys" sold them out. So there will be a new contract come up at some point and the company will say "Darn we wish we could give you a $2.00 an hour raise but we have to pay for all those retiree's benefits that you DON"T get". "Well GEE, look here those benefits are up for VOTE also?" Myself, I was not going to cut anyone's throat for a JOB! That is why I quit. But there were many more than one that did not work near as hard as you or I, some were good and I am still, to this day, good friends with. The others.....well there are the ABUSERS of any system! Just my worth, Bryan
  25. At the back of the bike the colors are as follows: Dark green is the right turn signal. Dark brown is the left turn signal. Blue is the tail light. Yellow is the brake light.(Well yellow doesn't show up well but you get the picture) Black is ground.
