  3. Now you know someone just had to check, didn't you. LOL! Toyota Upping the Oil Change Interval to 10,000 Miles for 2010 Prius, other Toyota models . Share6 http://priuschat.com/sites/default/files/publisher/10000mileoil.jpg With some new 2010 Prius owners being charged $100+ for an oil change due to the 0W-20 synthetic oil requirements, we have some good news. PriusChat forum member Sphyrna has posted a document provided by his dealership in Miami showing that the 2010 Prius oil change interval will be changed to 10,000 miles instead of the current 5,000 miles. The document appears to be a training material for dealerships and contains other pages showing that the 2010 4 cylinder Camry, the 4.6L Tundra and Sequoia, the FJ Cruiser, 4Runner, and Scion XD are all also included in this oil change interval update. While Toyota officially has said that no updates have been made to the oil change interval policies, these documents look pretty official and I'd say it's only a matter of time before Toyota confirms this change. Most likely they are training dealerships on it now and then they will issue a software update to keep your car from reminding you to get service every 5,000 miles. The cost of the 0W-20 oil change has been a source of heartburn for a lot of 2010 owners, so it's great to see Toyota changing their tune.
  4. Nice fix!
  5. The L&M motel in Savana, ILL is so biker friendly! They can hook you up with some dang good area roads to. http://www.l-mmotel.com/ US 52 in Iowa is a good ride. On the south side of Bellview is a park that over looks the city and river. C9Y from Dubuque to Balltown is a great road too. Balltown is home to Iowa's oldes bar. (Good food, even if it has burnt down twice in the last 5 years). Fenelon place elevator > http://www.dbq.com/fenplco/index.html River run http://www.motorcycleroads.com/routes/MidWest/IA/IA_1.shtml Also check out the Wisconsin leaf lookers weekend in October 7th to the 10th. We are going to have a couple of rides you are welcome to ride along with. And camp fire, food and lots of BS. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=51069 Bryan
  6. Well I befriended Pioneer Motorsports and placed an order on some "safety chrome" I have been looking for, for a long time. Chad Armstrong from Pioneer Motorsports called me to tell me that some of the parts I ordered they did not have and could not get anymore. He also went the extra mile and looked all over the country for me and gave me the names of three OTHER dealerships that "may" have the parts. Well I made two calls and the second dealer just sold me the last set of carb covers he had. I want to thank Chad for helping me out and hooking me up with another dealer even though it ment a lost sale to him. Can't find many stand up dealers like that anymore!! Bryan
  7. Thoughts and prayers for your friend and his family. Bryan
  8. The rest of them set up a site just "west" of the pool. You should see signs and Ventures parked around. Lisa and I will be there Friday after noonish. See you there! Bryan
  9. Well it's good to hear he still has his sence of humor! Hope he gets back on the road soon after the Doctors say it is OK. (Hear that LA? After the Doctors say OK.) Now get well. Bryan
  10. Thanks Don, I just added them as a friend, I think. And I also sent in an order for some new "Safety Chrome" I could not find any where else. Hope this all works out, 15% discount looks good to me. Hey Ken, your safety chrome parts are safe now. I found them!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bryan
  11. IS IT TIME YET? IS IT TIME YET? Geeesh I got to quit starting stuf so early! I been ready to do this ride since Ken, Lisa and I talked about it in July. Awh, come on clock TICK, then TOCK, you can do it. Bryan
  12. Heading to CODY,WY on a first gen.
  13. :sign yeah that: Have seen the same thing happen more than once, and once saw the auto turn and chase the bike. Not what I want to see or happen. Understand safety needs but,,,,,,,,,,,, some safety can be more dangerous with the wrong person having a bad day anyway. See no reason to start a fight,,,,, and see no reason to pi$$ someone off just in the name safety. My luck, if I make them mad it just may be the wrong person at the wrong time and,,,, well I don't want to think about a cage and a bike in a fight pretty sure I would loose. Bryan
  14. I still really like this one! Not my design, not my picture. But if it wins you can give the designer or who ever thought it up first the winnings! They deserve it............... That is my vote! Bryan
  15. I had brand new Avons put on my o5 and had sort of the same problem. Wobble / shimmy when letting off gas. Took it back to the shop and dealer lifted the bike up and spun the front tire. That is where it got interesting, bead was set good and true. But tire had a bow in it side to side and was not "round" tire would go in and out as we spun it. Only time I could tell was when I let off the gas. We took it of the bike and checked balance and it was dead on. Avon sent a new tire "free" but it didn't get here by the long weekend. So dealer put on a Dunlop E3 he had (we tested the bike with it on before telling Avon too) and I bought it. Turns out it was of the 130 size not the 150 size...... After just 100 miles on the 130 I will never put the 150 back on! WOW is all I can say. " Now I have a 150 new Avon just sitting in my garage." Avon had less noise than the Dunlop and Dunlop or Avon don't matter to me but I am hooked on the 130 now. Long story short have the front tire checked, (even new tires can be bad) or the steering head bolt could be loose too. Bryan
  16. Here is an article step by step by Gary L Mace. Looks very good. (Thanks Gary) Removing The Front Wheel Author: Gary L Mace (Venturous) Views: 4116 Votes: 10 Print Rate This: Excellent Very Good Good Fair Poor Removing The Front Wheel First, lift and safely secure your bike so that you can work on it. http://venturers.org/Tech_Library/attachments/mace_frontwheel1.jpg Now, remove any accessories that may cover the axle bolt and axle clamp bolt which are located on the side opposite your kickstand. In my case, I needed to remove my axle bolt covers, rotor covers and caliper cover. Stock bikes would not have any of these steps. Remove the two bolts which attach the front brake calipers to the forks. Carefully slide the calipers off of brake rotor. You may wish to cover calipers with a shop rag and support away from bike with a stiff wire to prevent scratching the fender as you work. http://venturers.org/Tech_Library/attachments/mace_frontwheel6.jpg Next, loosen the axle clamp bolt as shown below. http://venturers.org/Tech_Library/attachments/mace_frontwheel2.jpg Next loosen and fully remove the axle as shown below. Be careful when pulling the axle through the forks and wheel so you do not mar the axle threads. http://venturers.org/Tech_Library/attachments/mace_frontwheel3.jpg Now the front wheel should be disconnected from your bike. You may now remove it carefully. It may be necessary to raise your bike further. Do so with care. As an added safety precaution, while I have the front wheel off of the bike, I replace the axle then place a jack stand centered under the axle in the event my lift should lose pressure. ( ya never know when your cat or kid will bump that release lever! ) I do not allow the axle to rest on the jack stand! I lower the lift until the axle is sitting about 1/4" above the jack stand head. http://venturers.org/Tech_Library/attachments/mace_frontwheel4.jpg Now is a good time to have a close look at your brake linings and inspect your calipers. http://venturers.org/Tech_Library/attachments/mace_frontwheel5.jpg To re-install the front wheel, reverse the procedures above using the torque specifications shown on the pictures. Good luck! Last update: 10:36 PM Tuesday, March 7, 2006
  17. Have a GREAT, FUN & SAFE trip Rick. Lisa and I both really like the seats since you did your magic to them. Good pillow tops before but now, WOW ! Bryan
  18. Bill, That's a pretty cool idea! :lightbulb:Anyone that wants to eat out, can if they chose to, it's a free country. I get up early anyway, and plan on having a camp fire, so all the early birds could have breakfast over the camp fire! I'll get a large cast-iron skillet too. I could make my breakfast stuff, sausage,hash-browns, eggs, and cheese, some garlic and misses dash and wal-ah. Kids all love it anyway. Give us an idea what you will need for $$ for the brats & burgers? Maybe we can work something out? I will take care of the breakfast stuff I make, I got plenty of all the ingredients. Plus I like doing things like that. :smile5:Thought about it before too, but forgot to say anything, glad you brought it up. You can get hold of me 641-660-7315 but wait till afternoon Saturday. (Got a funeral for a very good friend to go to. Should be many bikes there to give him his final ride.) Bryan

"Friendship" And the love of the road, and the wind in your face. I think it will be a GREAT weekend! And a lot of fun! Bryan

  23. Well Jim, you and Ann are welcome to come. Lisa and I will be leaving Oskaloosa Thursday morning "ish". I may have another couple that will be riding along with us. (Not Members) Not sure which route to take yet. May go to Dubuque and up "C9Y" to Balltown, or make a bee-line for Prairie Du Chien and on up. Depends on what time we get out of here. Have a safe ride up and see you there! Hey Ken, looks like we may have a nice gathering! I'm going to throw my tent in the trailer just in case someone may show-up and decide to stay, or has one two many. Bryan
  24. Bob, As of Wednesday there were rooms at the motel, camp sites and one cabin left. Hope you and Karen can make it, Rick and his wife Shirley said they could not make it till Friday night also. And there may be a few others that way. But that's all good, cause the Wisconsin roads will be just as nice to ride on Saturday as they will Friday. The camp fire will be just as warm. And the beer may even be a little colder by then! I know it is a long time till October cause I keep looking at the calender and it is still says August! And I hope the leaves are changing good too, but even if they are GREEN Lisa and I will have a blast just riding the roads and seeing everyone. See you there, I hope, Bryan
