Hello everyone, I have talked it over with Ken and we have decided to have another Wisconsin Leaf Lookers ride. We had one last year and everyone that came seemed to have a pretty good time. So below is all the info, and I think I got it on the calendar then everyone can say how many want to come again. Thursday evening I'll make some chili again for those that show early. (And yes Mike I'll make some more breakfast stuff one of the morning too). Camp fire at night to sit and shoot the bull. And we can grill supper over the fire. (From their flier they sent to me) Motel rates > $65 per night "$55 a night for 3 nights or longer" Cabins > 5 Rustic and 2 Camping Cabins Rustic > Big Cabin > $90 for one side $175 for both sides (2 bedrooms) Wildwood > (The one I rented last year and again this year) 3 Bears > $99 a night (Dbl bed down stairs loft with 2 dbl beds) Leona's > $95 a night (Dbl bed down and 1 in loft) Rustic > $65 a night (Dbl bed down with loft) Camping Cabins > Log Camper $45 a night Sleeper $30 a night (Last year the Bank just took the place over and well lets say some of the cabins were not to good. You must be selling those invisible tops too? At a local bike rally a week ago there were quite a few girls with those invisible tops on! But I sure would appreciate it if you were a little more selective about which girls you sell to! Bryan

LOL Scooter it will get better. I had surgery on my knee and walked out, felt like running, thought man I should have done this years ago. Then the meds wore off! Lisa had to hide the guns I hurt so bad for the next three days, then all better for a few years till now, think I need the other one done now. Glad you are going to be back in the saddle soon, But as said before DO NOT OVER DO IT!!!!!!!! Bryan

YEP, Hungry House is where we had breakfast morning of the 22nd. And the night of the 21st we had supper at the Casino. Scooter Bob & Karen, Eusa1 & Sherrie, Rick Hayward and Shirley and Lisa & I were up there for a ride after a M&E. Next time you are coming up to this neck of the woods give one of us a call I bet someone would be happy to go for a ride around the area with you guys. And keep a watch for in October for the "Wisconsin leaf lookers weekend" 920shrek1 (Ken) and I put it on last year, had rides on Friday and Saturday around some pretty Wisconsin back (blacktop) roads. Sat around a campfire at night BS'ed and (A1bummer) Bill cooked super (GREAT COOK TOO)! Had a great time so we are going to do it again this year. Come on up! Bryan

I forgot to add, the local ABATE district # 14 has a "Iron Butt" ride every June for the past 14 or 15 years. "Around the state of Iowa 1000 miles in 24 hours or less to get the patch." Most all the roads are two lane till the west edge then it is # 29 interstate. They run,,,,,,,, fast and hard on this ride, some of the small town local LEO's know when they are coming through now and just sit there with their lights on while the group fly through their town,,,,,,"well" above the speed limit! Bryan

Probbly a little speeding but > Oklahoma 75mph interstate speed limit Missouri 70mph " " " Iowa 70mph " " " Minnesota 70mph " " " If he drove 76mpg "average" for 12 1/2 hours it could be done. And around here most drive 5 to 10mph over on most all roads. Our interstates "95%" are NON stop. Bryan

Brother in-law went from his home outside of Ottumwa, Iowa to Key West, Florida and back over the Memorial day weekend (3 days, 6:00 am Saturday to 9:00pm Monday) 3 years ago just to see if he could. Had 3465 mile on the bike when he got back. Took a 6 gal tank strapped it to the back seat and had it tee'd into his fuel line. Would run that 6 gal out then turn on his tank. Said he stopped about every 500 to 550 miles for gas and put it all on his charge card so we could see. Bryan

Well we live in a "freedom of choice" state so wife and I ride with/out helmets. We have 1/2 helmets we have to wear in states that require it. Wife has a bad neck and with the weight of the helmet and extra wind force on it, well she tires very quickly with it on. We have road 600 + miles in a day in "rural" Wisconsin (Non-helmet state) site seeing and no fatigue. In the same respect 200 + miles in a day in "rural" Missouri (helmet state) site seeing and ready to get off cause of fatigue. But "we" will ride with anyone regardless if you have ATGATT or not. "We will not judge other bikers on their choice of machine, their appearance, or their profession. We will judge them only on their conduct as bikers." (But we will not ride with anyone who is under 4 feet tall or over 7 feet tall, or who wears jewelry has tattoos or eats more than we do. Must be between the age 35 to 50 cute and single female),,...... Ouch,,,, stop hitting me,, OK disregard the last part. Bryan

:rotfl: Thanks Scooter but, Sorry somethings are better left to least anount of witnesess as possible. But I am curious how others handle blocking rooms? Do you call even when date has expired? Or did I just get a %#*&% with no brains? Bryan
-
No not a chain, and with the first time I talked with him it sounds to me like he pretty much "inherited" it and he IS the owner. I think he screwed up and just doesn't have the balls to see he did and wants someone else to pay for HIS screw-up. I just know I will NOT stay there again. Bryan

THANK YOU Don! I didn't think I did but wanted to see if any of your members were "Motel / Hotel" owners that may have a different view.? Bryan

Have another M&E sometime this summer. I know some of us will show up. Also put the first weekend in October on your list of things to do. That is the "Wisconsin Leaf Lookers "weekend ask anyone that was there last year it was a great time with good roads and great company. Bryan -
OH and the manager also called at least one of the other couples and asked for my phone #, says it is always busy. I wrote my cell number very plain and have not had a single call received or missed from him. Guess I don't understand what I did wrong? Never had issues anywhere else??? Bryan
-
Now I have done this before and have never had an issue. But I got to know, am I doing it wrong? First I stayed at the Frontier Motel in Marquette, Iowa and asked the manager if I could hold a block of 8 rooms for a while cause I was having a ride. He told me YES he would hold them, I asked how long "HE SAID TILL 5-14-11" (Ride was on 5-21-11). I said that would be fine what ever did not get called on he would then "sell / rent" . On the 21st two couples call motel from the M&E and ask for rooms "Manager" ask if they were with me, couples ask my name and say YES we are with Bryan. Manager say that is the last two rooms he has. We get to motel and "Manager" is pissed that I did not call to cancel extra rooms??? (To my understanding he was to rent them after the 14th so why would I call? If that was not enough earlier call from other couples said that WAS LAST TWO ROOMS? SO again, why call?") And he didn't even give the two couples any of "my" rooms even when HE asked and they said YES they are with me! Anyway after we all headed home Sunday I get a call from "Shazam" debit card corporation saying there are "MANY" charges from said motel starting at $390.00 and going down $20.00 after each charge is denied. I am asked if these charges are real to which I say NO! I only owe for ONE room at $73.50. (Which I fully intend to pay, I did stay there and I am NOT trying to get out of my dept.) Monday I go to my bank and tell them the whole story they check it out and I now have a total of 14 charges from said motel. (I only put so much money in this account so I don't get burned, to bad.) My bank is cool with it and says HE is wrong but they want to cancel my card and issue a new one. NO CHARGE, which I did not argue with. My question is did I do something wrong? Any other time I have done this if I was told they would hold to a specific date then after that date rooms were gone and I did not have to call. Is that how it is suppose to work? Just thought there maybe a motel / hotel owner here that could tell me proper way I should have handled it?? Thank you , Bryan

Glad you were paying attention! And glad to hear you are OK! I'm guessing those pygmies were make'in lots of noise and that got your attention? Bryan
