Buddy, storage would give me a chance to get the truck prepped. Definatly have to keep that in mind. Wizard, we're about 500 miles from home. So near yet so far. Bob, thanks. I'll keep it in mind. Unfortunately this means I won't be able to lead/attend the July Meet & Eat. Thanks guys.

I just got out of the Grand hospital (which isn't really all that grand) - my appendix burst Monday night. Kind of put the kibosh on the rest of the rally for us. Naturally I failed to get any phone numbers on the first morning. No heavy lifting for six weeks. Six weeks. Gaaa. So, I'm not going to be able to ride home. We are setting up to have our daughter come up in the pickup. Of course we have no ball/wiring/trailer, but hey, one thing at a time. Suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

135 can be a lot of fun. We're having another Meet & Eat on July 26. We'll be riding a section of 135, plus parts of 58, 446, and 46. Head on up if you can.

I'm running a single Firefly on my '06. Seems to work fine. There's a write up on going to a single antenna that might give you some ideas.

The wires into the coil have two different size lugs. The standard lug can be piggy backed for power, the small lug is piggy backed for the signal.

As compared with the cabin in Ft Collins where the bathroom was a hundred yards off around a rock pile. And not a usable tree in sight.
-
Congratulations on being able to tell about it. Talk about style points, though. Got hit by/hit a deer and went on anyway. Wow.

Close, but not quite. Holiday Inn. Irene gets us employee rates. Not quite free, but less than a cabin and the bathroom's just a couple of steps away.

Well first things first, of course.

I also post a lot of pics and videos on my web site. Looking forward to seeing you there. Irene'll be there so I'm sure more pictures will be snapped.

First I want to thank everyone for riding with me. I had a great time meeting folks, and renewing friendships. Dan, sorry you couldn't make it all the way. Also sorry the team didn't win. I posted the only video that came out. Dan, I got way more shoulder than I had in mind. Next time I'll zoom in while I'm aiming backwards. Forward I have to zoom all the way out. Next time...

No, it's not an ad for kevlar shirts, honest. It's the only video that came out. I'm still working on that whole backwards aiming thing. This was on 46 between Columbus and Gnaw Bone. That's the Jethroishes, then the Mariner Fans, followed by the Leadwolves. Thanks for riding with me guys. Sorry you couldn't make it all the way, Dan. [ame= ] [/ame]

It sprinkled a little early but eventually cleared up and got sunny in the afternoon. I just got a few pics at the Cafe. I'm hoping the ladies will have some more pics. I'd hate to fall short of the minimum requirements.

Wow. Glad you came out of it as well as you did! Good luck with the insurance and bike.

It may be a bit late to make this suggestion, but if you're in Montana and going to Yellowstone you really need to ride 212 out of Red Lodge into the north east corner of Yellowstone. That's the Beartooth Pass. If I'm coming within three states I plan on riding the Beartooth. I also like the Chief Joseph. It goes from 212 near Yellowstone into Cody. Not as dramatic as the Beartooth, but a nice ride none the less. I've attached an inspirational image from Google Earth that may explain why I feel this way.

Some voice on the radio said they were going to play something from the "late" George Carlin. And the whole world got just a little bit less funny.

Actually, I like what Squeeze said. HH on the front. Standard on the rear.

Ouch. Nice to hear your daughter did so well. Heal up quick.

Yeah, had to drag him in when it was ten below. Nowhere as miserable in the summer as you'd think from all that hair. Great dogs indeed. I've never spent any time around a Weimaraner. Nice looking dogs, though.

I had a Great Pyrenees. Can't have anything else now. Not real convenient, but there it is. They become part of you. I'm saddened to hear you've lost a member of the family. Those puppies sure are cute. Good luck with the decisions. Sure hope they make it through the cat's training ok.

This is the US Federal law regarding motorcycle noise. Note that as of 1982 83 dBA is the max. As of '06 it went down to 80. If you keep browsing that series of pages you'll find the info about marking and tampering. It also mentions that if your exhaust becomes louder with age you can be held in volation if you don't put a new one on. US Federal laws against tampering with emission control systems were passed in 1977, effective in 1979 or 1980. Sorry, can't find anything about the fine in the federal documents, but the MRF sure knows about it. (Warning: PDF.) Quoting: There is a section in the Clean Air Act of 1979 concerning “tampering ,” which makes it illegal to modify or remove any component designed to reduce or control exhaust emissions, including intake or exhaust noise. Removing the catalytic converter on a car, or a new motorcycle constitutes tampering. So does replacing an engine component with anything other than stock or direct replacement components. Violating this anti-tampering law opens you up to a fine of up to $10,000 per occurrence. An occurrence is logged each and every day the modified vehicle is operated on public streets. Guys (& gals?), I'm not trying to rain on your ride. I'm slowly working to bring my '06's performance up to that I remember from my '85. I've tampered. I will tamper again. All I'm saying is if you're going to violate the law you should at least know what laws you're violating and what sort of an inconvenience it could be if you get caught.

Things seem much better now. It seems like it's back to current normal.
