Just as good a job of what? Virus distribution? Malware execution? Standards corruption?

I got these and they are bright. I do not use a load equalizer. I just let 'em blink a little fast. I tried a Trick Flasher but it killed auto cancel and I got tired of looking like some senile old guy riding everywhere with my turn signal on. I guess I'm stuck with the old guy part, but the senile thing was a bit too much, at least for a year or two. I got the Eclipze type for the front. They're bright and have a slightly different flash pattern for better visibility. I don't know what to tell you about headlight bulb. I put a Diamond Star modulator on my high beam and run with that all the time I'm not in a group of bikes. For a TD I would think the Kisan modulator would be better since they make them to plug between the bulb and the socket. No box to find a place for.

Can't say for certain about the '85. Mine didn't have the CB. You might check out this site for info. There's also a tech article here that might help with going to a single antenna. It's about the second gen, but the splitter shown works quite well.

Yep. But it'll look like a second gen. And it'll be more than 20 years newer. I'll see your and raise you :witch_brew:.

Need? This hasn't really been about need in a long time.

My philosophy exactly. Though I do want those springs. Some day.

There's a link to one source in my previous post to waterbug. It's not hard, but it's under the seat and battery, so those things come off/out. The battery box has to come out. Seems like there's a small amount of head standing inside the middle of the bike (it's been a couple of years). Be sure to set it where you want it before you install it. It's just a couple hours of tinkering, really.

The Dyna 3000 is a performance electronic ignition module. You can set your ignition advance curve and rev limiter.

Hi Warden, While that is literally true, it's not really. I got run over in the mirror image of Dan's crash. I left work and it took over two weeks to get home. My left leg was crushed. In all I had ten surgeries. I had two fasciotomies, and a vein graft. I have four 4" titanium wood screws in my knee plateau, a couple of titanium plates, and a dozen titanium wood screws in my leg. I had an external fixture because they couldn't put a cast on the leg. (For those who insist on continuing the tradition, pics are here.) I was in the hospital for two weeks, then flat for two more months. Limited activity complete with wheel chair, bedside commode, and walker for three more. Then they found another crack and I was down for five months because of a bone graft. The skin wouldn't heal over the titanium plate covering the graft so they had to take that back out. I gave myself lovenox shots for the clots. The whole thing took over a year. I had to go through physical therapy twice. My left thigh is still a fraction of its normal size. During all of this Irene took care of me. She was a trooper. She has/had no nursing training aside from being the mother of three kids. Sleep? None at first. Not much for quite a while. Worry? Off the chart. I had never sent her to fetch anything in all the years we'd been married. All of a sudden she had to do everything for both of us. I don't want to belittle what you went through in any way. Dan hasn't done as well as I did, and that has saddened me. I wish there was something that could be done, but of course I have no idea what that would be. I just want you to know that there are people who understand. Irene may not have been there, but she was right next door. I owe her more than I can ever express or repay. She says that's not so. None the less it's how I feel. I respect where you've been too. When I told her about this the first words out of her mouth were "I'd kill you. Was she on the back?" "No." "That's better, but I'd still kill you." I'm pretty sure that means I am not allowed to take more than one hand off the handlebars at any time. (Sorry Dan, can't help you there.) All things considered I can live with that, which means a lot more now than it once would have. I know it may not seem that way, but you're not really alone.

I'm kind of wondering about that 8k red line. I'm under the impression that somewhere above 7.5k you can see some valve float because of the softer springs. I don't know this for certain, but I kept mine at 7250 just in case. Power seems to flatten around 7k anyway.

I bought a set of these. I got the Eclipze units for the front. The lenses are clear. I did not use load equalizers. I tried a Trick Flasher (four different digital flash patterns) but it killed auto cancel. I got tired of riding around with my flasher on all the time, even though it flashed in a very cool pattern, so I just put it back to stock. They flash a little fast, but not all that much and I don't care. They flash. They're very bright. They're low load. I'm good. My tail light is also a 128 LED unit with a lightly tinted (smoke) lens, but they don't make that LED any more.

I use four hockey pucks. One has a notch cut out of it for the side stand switch.

Just remember to be careful if you get one of those Guardian EZ Zip covers.

Seems to me now would be a fine time to chop that tree down. They told you to, didn't they? Show some public spirit! Move the vehicles, then fell that thing right across the road and leave it. Of course if you have a fireplace you can cut it up. Won't take more than a few days. Either way I'd suggest mowing first. It's all part of the beautification project, you know. Besides, it's easier before there's a tree laying in the way. Here's some step by step instructions. Just remember to keep repeating the phrase "That's what they told me to do."

Ok, so now that it's not spilling the beans. Check out those grins.

Certainly none of us.

Don't tell me Westfield Yamaha finally started a Star Chapter. And they said they'd let me know... Nahhh. I dropped STAR. I joined up right after buying my '05 Midnight. Paid cash. Got tired of the constant bashing of new people on the forum and didn't renew. Never got that free year they all kept talking about. It all seemed so darkly oppressive what with the constant harping about their super secret contract, everyone getting told to shut up and talk to the main office, and all that. I like it here a LOT better anyway. Freebird runs a much nicer internet hangout. Hmmmm. Well, I'm going north to Meet & Eats this weekend and next. I'm planning on southern IN on the 23rd. Hoping for Somerset KY the last of the month. (Can't make it to PIP again this year, sigh.) Aside from that I'm hanging out at 10th and 465 the rest of the time. The CD player's here anyway. Gimme a holler 317 919 6743, I have quite a bit of free time right now. Well, during the week anyway.

I got a Diamond R. At the time the Utopia required drilling. I don't really know if they still do. The Diamond R bolts on where the passenger seat bolts on. Longer bolts were supplied with the back rest.

I don't know what kind of player you're using, but if it has a built in equalizer you can turn that all the way up on all frequencies. That made a huge difference on mine.

Black on white? Large design on the back, International VR.org Rally 2009 on the front above the pocket? Just wondering...

No, no, no. We need to remain one of the rarest rides on the road. Exclusive community. Brothers of the V-4. Not for the hoardes of barbarians. We're Ferraris. They're Chevys. That sort of thing. I left the tank badges on mine. When people ask I just tell 'em "Sorry guy, you can't have one. They didn't make enough. Maybe next year." Don't we?

I have one I don't use. It worked when it was pulled out of the '05. If you'd like we can try plugging it in to see if the head unit will recognize a CD player at all.

Sort of. Zinio is selling the electronic version. Special deal Joe. One pig in a poke. Only $5 for 12 issues. Get the September issue for only $2.49. Windows only. Latest version of Flash required. Not surprisingly, I suppose, I closed that tab and moved on.
