  1. Was this today? They let you IN? or should I say, let you OUT? yup, was a great day to ride again today. And if they let you in or out, by your email, means they let you back in again or we let you back out?
  2. Ya missed a good one! Great ride. Next time Bob.
  3. AMEN to the Leveling Links (Diamond R versions). When the dealer was replacing the leaky rear shock, I had them slip them in. WOW, SHIZAM, INCREADIBLE. Handles the way a 900 lbs crouch rocket should. With ease at slow speed. Great investment.
  4. Hey Rick, thanks for the comment on the seat. Diamond Custom Seats from Florida. Found them on the web. would appreciate if any has one and the comments/feedback. Other custom seat might be a Hartco? They look similar in design. Like the fact that Diamond makes comment of making custom seats for 30+ years.
  5. You are right on the working too much! No vacation time in site until October and over Christmas, May be. Steve
  6. Hey Brad. Just really starting to develop a pain in my lower tail bone. Might need to have the pillow top re-worked again, and do the long term investgation over the fall/winter. Todays ride was local, but highway, not much stopping and within the 2 hours, man, was my "tail bone" sore. Steve
  7. After the past few weeks, I have really started to experience lower tail bone discomfort. A pain in the "behind"! Have had the Butler Modification done and been good comfort up until the now. Looking for driver saddle options? Also, I have been adjusting my Utopia Backrest to be a little more upright, to assist in posture for riding. Seems to helps some, but not totally after the 2 hours or so. As for size, I'm 6'1" and 33" in-seam and bike fits well for height. Did the Level Links as well and did not notice any significant change for "fit" Any suggestions or recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
  8. Have to miss this one. Some of us have to stay behind and carry on business. May be next time. Ride Safe, and SMILE for the cameras!
  9. Simply call YAMAHA customer service. IN Canada, that is what I did to transfer my warranty from the prior owner. My 2005 just ran out of warranty. So IF IT a shock issue, get into the dealer and get it noted and service documented to start a warranty claim.
  10. CMIKE - Thanks I have sent you a PM with some information on your offer to send this part. Steve
  11. Looking for a bracket mount for a Garmin 665 XM satellite antenna. Similar to this. http://www.gpscity.ca/g/gps/l/4/ram344.jpg Any other options than RAM? Anyone have one to move along to a new home? Thanks
  12. Sounds like a great ride and travels back. Wish we could have made this trip but just not in cards this year. Do want to trip up to Manitoulin if time permits this year. Glad to hear it was a safe road trip.
  13. Head steering had nothing to do with the warranty or shock. It was purely the Rep's way of saying, " did you do the required/suggested maintainance as documented in the guide". Yes I was out of warranty by 7 days. Hence the challenge to get the full thing covered or even the shock covered. I thought it was a very reasonable compromise and the scoot is running very well. Had the dealer put in the Diamond R link levels at the same time, since they were working on the bottom end. I do have comment the dealer was GREAT to work with on this. He was extremely helpful and accommodating. Ride ON!
  14. So, Finally a little positive news. The shock had to be inspected by a Yamaha Factory person:stickpoke:, agreed it was warranty for the shock. Dealer put the shock in for only the labour cost. The Factory rep, wanted to see dealer service records for the swing arm re-pack and the steering column re-pack as specified in the warranty guidelines. Provided what I could. Was to their satisfaction. It only took nearly 2 months to figure this all out and get solved, but successful outcome in my opinion. Happy riding!
  15. Tom Sorry to say, have to miss Aug 20/21/22 WNY mini rally. I have working commitments that weekend (Friday & Saturday). Will get down to WNY soon to ride with your crew.
  16. Wayne What an awesome ride. Outstanding weather, great company, and a road trip to remember for Canada Day. Great to see our wonderful country side from behind the handlebars. Many thanks for "piloting" the trip. Steve and Michele
  17. Wayne Thanks for taking the lead pilot role on this. WE, the Count and Countess, Steve and Michele will be on the trip and at Pioneer for 8:00 am. For people travelling in, there is a TIM Horton right beside Pioneer, and if you need more, there is a McDonalds across the street, if your stomach can handle McD's at that time of the A.M. Weather is looking incredible and looking forward to a great ride day. Steve
  18. I have a short 11" on the RSV and not complaints. Was on the bike when I aquired it. Just changed to an F4 sheild at 14' tall and extra wide to extend to the end of the fairing. Good product as well. A little long for delivery to Canada.
  19. Any updates for Venture user on the newer Zumo 665 ?? GPS with XM Satellite radio included. Expensive, but convenient. I'm interested, but would like any member feedback for dropping big $$$$'s. Thanks
  20. So time to think about adding satellite radio. Comments on XM Radio vs Sirius for satellite providers? Garmin new Zumo 665 has XM. BUT already have a GPS device. Other question, anyone using the portable satellite receivers vs the car mount device? ON the weekend, saw 2 Harleys with the docking station mounted to the left clutch resevior bolts and wired in. Actually looked good, but then again, Harely? Enough said. Thanks for any comments.
  21. HI Wally, Did your Zumo 665 arrive? Worth the money? Looking to add one as well, and not sure I will purchase it here in Canada or US. Thanks, Steve
  22. sounds like a great ride. even if it was a two day with stop over. Unfortunately, weekdays are a challenge. Would be a great Saturday/Sunday run. Keep us posted! A definite MAYBE.
  23. Goose Thanks The bottom of the boot /bolts and lower mounting area is wet and oil soiled. Took to the dealer this morning. Sounds like he is placing a warranty claim for the shock. Will know at the end of the day for the warranty claim and work. Will be without the bike for the next few days as they remove/install the shock.
  24. So my '05 warranty ended on May 9/2010. Have not riden for about 2 weeks, but to find a similar small collection of oil under the rear shock location on the back end. Sounds like a seal or rear shock gone? Comments? If the dealer acknowledges the fault and warranty, BUT I don't think so, what are my alternatives for the rear shock replacement, seeing as factory items seem to be a challenge for consistancy. We ride 2 up most of the time, so, need to make this happen since we are looking get out over the good weather we finally have. I have 40,000 KM (26,000 mile) on a 5 year old bike, funny how warranty runs out, just when you need it. Appreciate any comments.
  25. Sorry Tom. Too short of notice. Already booked for working tomorrow. Next time?
