I have a 2008 Venture...I'm very frustrated right now with my dealer trying to diagnose my bike. I'm on my third battery in 8 months. They put the third one in a couple of days ago and from the conversation I think mostly because they don't have a clue. What has been happening is that if I don't ride for a couple of weeks the battery was dying...so I thought there may be a draw on the battery...The dealer said that he was only seeing about a 1.2 Miliamp draw coming from my GPS set up. At first he told me that would drain my battery in two weeks...then when he sent me home with my battery charged back up...it was dead the next day. They did all their troubleshooting and finally they said that it was another bad battery. They put the battery in a couple of days ago...I went riding today and when I got back I noticed a noise coming out of the battery...it sounds almost like its sizzling. I don't think that it should do that...It is still making the noise and the bike has been in my garage for over 3 hours now. I asked about the voltage regulator and they told me they checked it...any suggestions at this point? Thanks...Dee

Driver Backrest
Storminyte replied to mmkleine's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
I am looking at both the Utopia and Diamond R driver's backrest....I know that they both adjust forward and rearward but the Utopia one looks like it's a little more difficult to adjust. Can anyone tell me how easy or difficult it is to adjust either of these? Thanks... Dee -
I have an '08 with about 6800 miles on it. My neutral light stays illuminated all the time...when in "neutral" it is at it's brightest, as I shift up it gets less bright but still keeps some illumination. As I shift down it gets brighter and hits it's max again when I actually put it in neutral. Has anyone else had this problem or can tell me what the problem is?? Thanks...

Thanks for the help...and if I take in all the advice given, it appears that if I want to run 2 sets of heated gear...it would be best to get the chargegard for monitoring purposes as well as a switch for the heated carb and/or an upgraded alternator. Sounds like I have a bit of work to do before winter hits...thanks again everyone.... Dee:big-grin-emoticon:

Has anyone ever used or know anything about chargeGUARD which is supposed to help keep your battery charged should you want to run two sets of warm weather gear. I know zip about the electrical system but been told that the Venture doesn't have enough juice to run 2 sets of Gerbings so I was researching and found the chargeGUARD...it sounds too good to be true so before I invest I was hoping I could get knowledge and/or advice from those that know... Thanks in advance.... Dee Ride Safe

Looking for some advice....I just got the trunk rack and I noticed on the rack there is a sticker that says 10 lb limit....I am assuming that limit is actually meant for what the trunk can hold but is that 10 lb limit realistic?? I want to be able to put a bag on there for a trip but also don't want to damage the trunk. Can anyone help with limitations?? Thanks in advance... Dee

Lower Vents and Highway Pegs??
Storminyte posted a topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I got the lower vents for my '08 Venture and was looking to get highway pegs but it doesn't appear to me as if they will fit with the lower vents. Anyone have both on their bike?? Or know that only a particular peg will work with the vent?? Thanks... Dee:178: -
Is there anywhere else on line that has the "Blem" Clearview windshield's?? I checked eBay and didn't have any luck there... Thanks... D:sun1:

I just wanted to thank everyone for the all the information on the vented windshields. I think I'm going to take all the advice and get the XXL clearview vented. I'll let everyone know how it goes when it gets here. Eddie...feel free to give me a call when you come cruising through Gray to the Mountains...may want to tag along. Dee

I just got a 2008 Venture and absolutely love it! Great upgrade from the Suzuki C50. So, now I'm into the fun part...accessorizing! Georgia gets a bit hot and I've already ordered the lower vents for my legs but someone mentioned that they've seen a vented windshield. Does anyone have one?? If so, how do you like it and where did you find it? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Ride Safe... Dee Life is short! Break the rules! Forgive quickly! Kiss slowly!
