  1. I have been in the machine industry fore many years and have manufactured a few gears in my time. There is an angle machined on each tooth . Doesn't matter how many teeth each geer has. It has to mesh with another geer. Geers can be maid to be noisy or quiet, depends on the lead angle of each tooth. Example If you have been close to a hot rod chevy wile its running you will hear a high pitch wine in some of them, this do to changing the timing chain to a gear drive. these gears can be bought two ways noisy or quiet. the difference is the lead angle of the tooth . When Yahama offers us venture owners different letter clutch baskets (H) (I) (J) whatever, Its a shot in the dark hoping it fixs the problem, and fore a short time it may. The problem i think, is that the mating geer is not changed and Yahama is hopping one will wear in to the other, somtimes it does other times the wine comes back. Yahama does not want to pay to split the geer case and replace the mating geer. Just my thoughts.

  3. I'm the Shirley who had lunch with you on the back deck. Sorry for all the abuse you had to take during your search for me. We had a good laugh reading all the responses, and I thought I had such an uncommon name. I would have responded sooner but we've been away on vacation. Had a great time at MD, our 2nd year. Met a lot of great people. I had a good time talking with you Peggy and I'm interested in getting my hands on a Lady Venture T shirt. I can't remember the site you told me to check out. Everyone, have a great Fourth!! SHIRLEY
  4. My wife Shirley and I would like to thank Don and Ilene for their great hospitality and welcoming us into their home. This was our first maintenance day visit and it certainly will not be our last. Did I mention the food was fantastic, and kudos to the chessecakes. Great work ladies!!!! We only had a short ride in from the east side of Cleveland, and along the way, we met up with a group from Canada. A special thanks to Carl and Marca's group for allowing us to ride in with them. Thanks to a great bunch of guys, I was able to get a lot of useful information.
