I agree with Goose. Yamaha can really do nothing to help you. Only thing they can do at the most is drop the dealer due to bad business and that will only enable the same bankruptcy that you think they will file if you go the other route. I still say pursue the dealer and at least they will have that on file. If there is a ruling in your favor then if the do file bankrupcy then you are now in the line of creditiors that will get paid at least some of the money owed. You should have dont this long ago.

Without knowing how the truck will be used I think you already decided its a waste. You should open you mind and maybe look online for some fireground used trucks like that. OSHA sets lots of the requrements and quite possible they were told they had to have it. To operate that truck it can be done with two but usually it should roll with a crew of 5-6. I can list the seat and job assignments if you wish.

Ok I understand your question and here is your answer. You cant just think vertical you have to think reach. That kind of truck can reach up to 4 stories if you area almost straight up but you dont want to be in that position. You set the truck up so that if the closest wall collapses you wont crush the truck. Also you use it as a arial water platform. Basically when you get big fire and you need large quantities of water this is the ideal tool. A closed lumber yard inour town went on fire a few months ago. We needed 8 of those trucks to control it and protect the surrounding houses. Now the biggest factor. Insurance companies probably required it. Believe it or not your home insurance is factored including required fire protection and response times. Meaning if you have a quick responding FD that is properly equipt your overall home insurance and business insurance will be lower. In our town they require 2 ladders and have even suggest locations within the district as to where they should be. Basically look at it this way. large house goes on fire and is cooking. Firefighters need to safely get on the roof with equiptment. You cant park this truck on the lawn as the outriggers used to brace the truck would sink and the truck could tip. Now you can set up on the road and reach the house on your average lawn. We have used ours for rescues when you need a stable platform over a hole and ours is equipt with a winch and we have even used it for Ice rescues.

I would get a lawyer and file a suit as well. BBB wont work. The moment the dealer accepted the parts from you he was ultimately responsible. Doesnt matter if they are sitting in his shop or on mars. The dealer should have replaced the parts long ago and then taken the fight with the painter. That should not be your job. I also would make sure you add a amount for the lost riding time and all the grief you have dealt with. Being patient is one thing but this is silly. Just my .02

Many of you have seen my Rendition of a Royalstar Venture Firefighter Edition. Well my buddy Smitty who has a Roadstar was on the phone with a rep from Yamaha for an extended period of time dealing with a problem on his bike. During the conversation he spoke of my bike (Maybe thats because he painted it!). Well cut to the chase Yamaha is very interested in seeing my bike and wants him to take some good pictures and put them on a disk. He has instructions on who to send them to. Well I got mixed feelings. Last thing I want is for Yamaha to copy my idea and I sure dont want to get in trouble for and copyright deal as my self designed tank emblem used the Star emblem. I probably should not be so paranoid so lets see how it goes. This could get really cool. Pics of the bike are in my Gallery for those who want to see it.

Anyone want to buy a Like new Airhawk?
-
Airhawk is a waste of money. I have one and it is ok at first but soon you are squirming in the seat and the air bubbles start pinching your butt through the cover. last time I used it was on my way up to americade. At Americade I bought a gell pad and now the airhawk is a great dust collector. Get the Butt Butler mod or get a good gel pad.

Changing to Stainless hydraulic lines
Tartan Terror replied to RossKean's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I have done this myself and its a piece of cake. The rubber you speak of is in a clip right? That is just to protect the line from chaffing. You will never chaffe a SS line. In addition to this use new crush washers whether its aluminum or brass you want new ones for the banjo fittings. Last of all that vaccum pump will make life easier. I did mine the old fashion way and it takes forever and your arms just arent long enough. Speed bleeder screws are good too butt the pump is much better. You can get that in any local Auto parts store. -

I love my stainless lines. Much more firm feel to the pedal and grip. -
Or we can name her Cracker after our long lost Venturebear comrade!

Hey guys. A few years ago I switched to LEDs to save some power and changed the flasher relays so I could get some power freed up. Well over the winter I upgraded the stator so the power problems are gone. With that I now find that I want my automatic canceler back working so Im gonna put the original relays back in the bike. I now need to install load equalizers. Problem is where should I put them? Do I need 2, one for the front and one for the back and which one should I get? Help me out here so I can get rid of my grandpa flasher syndrome!!! LOL

Don you got the ugly part right!!! I wanted to rent one this past weekend in AZ. We did 700 miles on our trip and my buddy who is a Harley nut would not let me get anything other than a Harley ultra. BTW Im glad I dont own one!!! Anyway on the way back to Pheonix from the Canyon we stop to eat and there was a Vision outside so I picked out the rider and talked to him for a while. He too thought it was ugly but the ride is unmatched. He had the trunk off and that did help the look alot. Still wish I had been able to ride one but next time.
