You can use a RAm mount. Check Cycle Gadgets. Also Freebird had a nice one posted before that you screw to the top of the Master Cyl. I dont want that one because I want to be able to take it all off quick if I want. Maybe Freebird will post that link again though.

Well thank you for all the input. Im gonna go with the sirius. I too like Nascar and with them signing with sirius now its a fit. Also being as I use the ram mount for everything Cycle Gadgets have a nice mount that allows the antenna to mount on the plate too and use the Ram Ball. As for the unit Im gonna go with the Starmate Replay. I think with all the input I got I want to be able to break it all down quick and put it in the trunk for security. Thanks Guys

Well maybe this will lead to another question. I have a nice Ipod but when I use the mini plug out to the head phones and put in the Aux port I dont seem to get enough volume. Ipod volume all the way up. When I put the Ipod in the truck I plug the unit into a 30 pin connector (large plug on bottom which also provides power to unit) and I have no volume problem in the truck. I would rather do that but for the truck I needed a unit to connect to the pioneer stereo. Any Way to connect an Ipod without the headphone jack or boost out. Other than that I need a satelite radio so that I dont need to keep searching for for stations on the standard radio

What Im looking for is a way to not use the power port and wire the power. I may need to split the power port and add another because I use the port for Ipod and more important the GPS

Yeah, Im leaning toward the Sirrus also but I want a good reciever that is suitable for the bike. Want to use it in the car too. I prefer hard wiring as well. I have an IPOD and have to use tha aux port and you loose alot. Only thin in favor or xm is I can package it with direct TV which I have already. has anyone hard wired one to their bike (Power and signal). I want to get one tha I can move to the car too and take off so it dont get stolen.

I want to put satelite radio on My Gen 2 Venture. Which one do you recommend? I want to wire it right in and want a small reciever. How do you plug it in. I really dont want to plug it in to the Aux port. i find with my Ipod its a pain in the butt. Is there a better way?

I have a new set of Khromewerks for sale. Had them on for about 400 miles. I wanted them quieter so I went to the Road King pipes. If you are interested I will take 300 plus shipping. I paid 395 and 25 for each tip. Not a scratch on them. They are cherry PM me!

I want to get a headset for my helmet. I got some good links to find it before so thankyou. What I want to know is J&M is much more expensive than the IMC setups. How good are the IMC stuff or is the extra money spent worth it for the J&M? I dont want o buy garbage and be sorry but is the J&M worth it?

I have seen it done with the Hyperchargers. Looks cool as heck. I cant tell you who has it but it did look cool. I think that person is a member on the site too.

Actually I got flat black but thats my style. gonna put reflective Flags on it. Maybe paint it to match the bike

Yesterday I bought a new HJC AC3 helmet. I was wondering if any of you use the same helmet and what you think of it. I wanted a 3/4 helmet so I can use the headset and didnt want to get a full face. Not broken in yet but when I tried it on it seemed nice. I like it because when the face shield is not on it has a nice visor to hide all the ratchet mechanisms. It is DOT and Snell rated and also the way it is shaped it allows for free movement of head as well as being light. This is my first helmet larger than a 1/2 other than my Racing helmet. Tell me what you think!

I agree! Let us not forget those who pass and are members. Picture, Screen name, Real name and short writeup for our fallen brothers

Very different seating position vs the venture. legs kind of behind you and curled back a little while on the venture you sit up and legs are forward for a more relaxed position. St1100 is fast and handles better but not for a real long day in the saddle- at least not for me.

No rear spoiler in Black Cherry?!!!!
Tartan Terror replied to mid life crisis's topic in Bike Accessories
Im not sure about the spoiler. I will check a little more and I have a buddy who is the yammy parts guy coming to dinner tonight so I will inquire. On the survey thing. the one you are seeing is part 2 of one survey. The first part did have the black cherry! Go the the actual VR polls section and look and it is there. It just seems the 2nd part came on later and the first didnt have as much activity so its not on the top. -
Polishing the lower forks
Tartan Terror replied to Freebird's topic in General Tech Library - READ ONLY!
I did this on both my bikes. Did the sanding first but I took the forks right out and polished it them with a bench grinder set up with a buffing wheel. Got to use the grades of rouge in order.thick wheel first with gray then on to the red then white on a loose flapper wheel. Shines like a mirror!! They are right about sanding first.Pay lots of attention to the area behind the fork and the fender mounting tabs. This area has rough casting so needs much more care. When buffing be careful not to let too much heat build up and wear gloves as the tube will get warm. -
Ok, The lubrication factor I dont think was ever in question but my question which I didnt se in there is what about the wet clutch! MC oils address that whrere the automotive oils do not? I think just to be safe I will stick to my Amsoil MC oil. My bike is one thing not to get cheap on even though I am Scottish!

Lucky and Stupid - Confessions of a Negligent Rider
Tartan Terror replied to V7Goose's topic in General Tech Talk
Dont do that again. I want you around so we can ride together some day! -
I installed the Road King mufflers last night on mine. You need two 1 3/4 chrome clamps. I bought them from J P Cycles. They are 3/4 inch wide and cover the area nicely. Next you need the Brackets to hold up the back. There are a few ways to do it. I used the ones I bought from another member. If I remember right ECK can send you the drawing and spec for the Brackets. Gonna be hard to get them slid up enough but a little light force and they go on. Keep in mind the 2006 and later ones have Catalytic converters in it so they are no good. 97-2005 is good. Also there are two cuts. the end has a slash cut on one type and the other has a flat back. Both are the same. There are also different types of Drilling the baffles to make them a little louder. I put them on first with out driling and tested how loud. I wanted a little louder so I drilled to Phase I which is 4 holes 1/2 inch in the first plate you see when you look in the inlet. Perfect for me. I like the sound. Not too loud but more than stock.

Being a tire guy I pay lots of attention to loads. I dont want to change both now and to tell you the truth Im really not an avon fan as a company. Now the problem. the original front tire is load rated at 744lb. the narrower one in the dunlop is 638 I think. The bike is 825 dry so running two up you have to be about 1150. Avon is in the narrower one 375 Kg which if Im doing it right translates to 835?. Is the narrower front in the Dunlop safe on a bike that big?

Tires on my bike are fairly new. I have the dunlop 404s. First question is do they make the narrower front that everyone is using in the 404 and what is that size if they do?

Careful. The 06 RK muffs Have Cats in them. You need 97-2005 They will fit but you need special brackets. I think Sofapilot makes them on the site.
