  1. Thank Buddy. Thats the comparison I want. Someone who has run both. Everyone has a preference but I want input from people who have had both. One for putting my Avons back on. Lets here some more on this. Scotty
  2. Well I got my wheels back and I need to make a decision to put new tires on or put the others back on and finish wearing them out. I Currently have the Avons on but Im curious about the Elites. How do the elites handle vs the Avons. Who has both and compare them. Now important part. I dont want hear about cracking or customer service. I dont care about Michelins or Metzlers. I just want to know how they handle Vs each other. I want to buy them this week if I decide to get them so have at it!
  3. Well it seems I got a decision to make. Ive had mine on for 2 years and have always been real happy. Just today I looked at mine as they are dismounted while I finish my firetruck wheels and saw not even a hint of a crack. Half worn but they are both built in the latter half of 06. If I change them I want to try the E3s as I am a Dunlop car tire dealer and I like dunlop just not the original 404s. What should I do? I should probably just put new skins on new wheels but the Avons are fine. Decisions....... Decisions........
  4. Ive worked on both and Im pretty sure they are the same.
  5. Awww Freebird you beat me to the punch!!! LOL Get the extra disk and do away with that half plate and disc like it did in the article. Much better gripping power
  6. In not a smoker but how about this for a idea. Many of us have gutted our much sought after cassette players so how about this. behind the flip down door you will have left make a plate with the lighter installed and you will have room left for a fresh pack of smokes. Have I got you thinking yet?
  7. Charlie congrats on the bike and best wishes on the rest. Not an easy time but I know you will make it. Best rehab is riding that nice bike.
  8. If you are talking about Troy Savoie in Florida Im gettign a custom trunk Bib made for mine too matching the Fire theme. I cant wait either!!!!
  9. They all supersede to the newer one. Yes is your answer
  10. Yeah that Furry little sadist saw his shadow. Guess I got plenty of time to work on the Fire Bike. Wheres my Gun?
  11. Thats what I thought and I actually ordered the bearings last night. Thanks for the advise and look for the showing of Phase 2.
  12. Did anyone else notice the RSV on the cover of the new Metric JP Cycles Catalog. Its not the bike in the center but you see the fairing on the right side near the building. Ive seen the bike before and I think it was here. It is black with a real flame style paint job. Who is it?????
  13. Well I got a question, Im into Phase 2 of the Firefighter RSV and part of it is polishing the outside ring of the wheels and powdercoating the spokes the color of the bike. I think I know my answer but do I need to remove and replace the wheel bearings or can it be done without removing them. Dont really want to mess with them but If I need too I will. Scotty
  14. Saw it at the International bike show and boy was I drooling!!!!
  15. Leave it on. Its part of the spinning mass so it should be balanced too.
  16. Ill PM you with my number. Scotty
  17. Rick Mine is just about ready to head your way. Just need a box big enough for the corbin.
  18. Ill be ready to use a kit in January. Is there a list? Do you have the tools too? Scotty
  19. If you are waiting so eager for him to post have you PMed him or tried to call? If you are basing you assumptions on waiting for him to see this I dont think he lives on here and sometimes its quite a while between his posts. I personally have bought from him quite a few times and he is top notch. You know what assuming does! Just call him and ask the question rather than assuming guilt because he hasnt posted yet. That is a very lame argument.
  20. Squid I dont think that is the case. I installed the Buckeye last winter and now have a yea on it. I have a charging guage and its not jus the light type and I can attest that there was a remarkable jump in changing. It how charges right up to the regulator limit and not beyond which is what it is supposed to do. I have no doubt that there is much more beyond that. I have all kinds of gizmos and have always been in the boarder line stage. Even didconnected the carb heaters to save power. Now its not even close to being an issue. I think Rick at Buckeyes is on the level. I know when I was ordering I shared your first stator issue with him and he assured me he did not use the same company you used for that one. I have had no issues and been really happy. Im sure Ruffy will also agree with this as he used the same one. Scotty
  21. You got to give me more heads up on this stuff. I got a good buddy from the Avalanche Club that lives on Staten Island. I could have set up dinner at Goodfellows!!! How long you gonna be up here?
  22. On the corbin there is a little flap behind the driver seat. it is held down by velcro. Just lift the flap and buy the backrest for the Corbin and it just slides right in. Look at my gallery and you will see.
  23. Yup that Corbin is headed your way after I get in that one last ride!! Looking forward to a well treated butt!!
