    Yamaha does also make a upgraded spring that is in the Speedstar line of performance parts. It is used in the Warrior and upgraded clutch packages for the Road star. All use the same clutch as us. So it could have a Yamaha part number too. I got mine from PCW and it didnt have one but that doesnt mean it doesnt match the one from Yamaha.

    So how can the tell if you have the permit or not unless they pull over everyone without a helmet. Do you have to wear a sticker on your head or something?

    Now it is kind of rare to see Ventures here on Long Island but boy did I hit the bonanza this weekend! On Saturday I went to Senix Creek to here a buddies band and low and behold in the Lot was a very nice 08 Cherry and Black. I knew it was new as there were no toys on it. Took a scan of the place and finally picked out the owner and introduced myself. Well 3 hours later and a few dirty looks from his Girlfriend and my Fiance we stopped talking bikes and traded emails and numbers. I gave him the info for this site and welcomed him. Bob is his name so look out for him. Well if that wasnt enough the next day I did a Charity Run for Mercy Haven and boy they were all out. I counted 9 total between ones passing on the road and ones in the run including a 03 the same as mine. Most I have ever seen in one day. Sometimes I see one and maybe two but this was a bonanza!!! Could not tag them all but Ill have to try harder!!!

    Actually there was a Member on here that did hit a Bear with a RSTD. Not quite sure of the name but I think it was Norman or something like that.

    I agree with you Boomer. I looked for Ventures yesterday but only saw one other and it was a 99. I think he is a member of CT4 RK.

    Yesterday our LI Red Knights Chapter NY25 went over to Connecticut to attend the RK CT4 Annual charity Ride for the Childrens Burn Center. Well organized and was a great ride with GREAT attendance. Only problem with the run was that an Officer who was helping with the escort was hit as he was moving forward in the line to position himself for his next stop point. A girl in a Toyota thought she could make a small gap that wasnt even there just as the Officer reached that point. I have no more of a report but will post it when I have more but the Officer was laying on his back in the road as several a bikers stopped as other officers as well. EMS responded. The ride continued as it was too dangerous for it all to stop. Please pray for the Officer. I cant tell you which department he is from as there were several agencies there and we werent told. Other than that mishap the ride was excellent and would do it again in heartbeat.

    Only reading between the lines is that Harley is much sought after bike in Europe so if they had a place to build them over there they could expand. Harley is American and most buy them because they are but just like all the tariffs we charge to bring foreign stuff here they could save lots buy building bikes for Europe there. I see them expanding. At least they arent building 08 bikes with cassette players! LOL

    Id be interested to see the Poll reflect if that helmet is a Novelty helmet or actual DOT leagal helmet too.

    I have and like the Garmin Nuvi 350 but I have a buddy with the Tom Tom and you can down load voices for it like Ozzy Osborne swearing at you. " In 300 meters make a F****n Right!" or hear Yoda guide you by the force!!

    They have the crash bar bags I have been looking for or to have made for a long time!!! If I keep the Venture they are on the list!

    I dont think I would ride without one anymore. Since they started with the daytime running lamps people just dont notice lights anymore but the modulation seems to get attention. Ive had a few people say to me that something is wrong with my headlamp but it only shows that they saw it and thats all you can hope for. Funny think is even a few LEOs dont realize they are legal for bikes so if you install one you should carry a copy of the law so that they will see it in writing if they dont know it anyway. The law permitting them for bikes is Fed so it supersedes local laws.

    Many of us have them and the most popular is the one made by Steve W. Paint to match and looks like it belongs. It will not affect cooling and will protect the radiator from mung, Crap and things that could put a hole in it.

    Yeah when I went up to Bridgeport they were waving one of those in front of me. Big buck and quite frankly not what I was looking for but if I really wanted to blow some oney I think I could find some room to park on in the garage!

    Yeah that frame upgrade got my attention. Im not so much a fast guy but I would like the better handling stuff. Im going in the next few weeks to tet ride an Ultra in the next few weeks now that the Honda is sold.

    As I see it what is the point of wearing a Novelty helmet. Does nothing for you. Actually in this area the fine is larger for a novelty helmet than not wearing one at all. I do feel people should have the right to choose to wear a helmet or not but to wear a novelty just to appear to follow the law is just like thumbing you nose at the Law.
