Brad would be your 2nd Gen stator expert. I know he has done it a couple of times. Shoot him an e-mail. Did you use the PDF I attached on your last stator thread?

A "good" shop will charge you just about as much to fix it as Yamaha will to sell you one that will match exactly. I had a small spot fixed once and it was like $90.00.

Other than the big legal issue. DVD's are encrypted so copies are difficult to make.

I agree with Brad in that is should be about the friendships made and getting to know one another. Now, with that said a few nice roads to cruise on won't hurt a choice of location. Having been born and raised in Florida and now a 15 year Texas transplant I do want to add that if you get down South in July we will need one heck of a big air conditioned room so we won't sweat our a**'* off while slinging the bullstuff. (Now is that a run-on sentence or what). 4 Corners gets my vote or at least somewhere a little cooler than 110 in the shade and 99 percent humidity.

For a small dog they make a harness. Check out this pic. I shot this up in New England last month while on vacation. http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c66/CNONT/Scooterdog.jpg

Yes there is a member in Alabama that has a trophy shop. I can’t remember his member name. He did the custom covers for the cassette players on the 2nd gens. From what I recall his real name was Tommy and I think his father owned the shop. I spoke with him one time several years back about running another batch of the door covers.

Great Day Rick, Many thanks to you and the Mrs. for the effort. I think we need to do it again once the Texas summer backs off a little. I met a lot of new people and got reacquainted with some from the past. Glad to hear everyone made it home safely. I will post some pics here on the site later but if you just need to see some jump over to www.lookingglassphotos.com and go to the motorcycle photos. Once in the folder click on slideshow in the upper right corner. This will make the photos fill the page. Thanks Again, Bill

Ran across this add a few days ago. Maybe willing to work a deal. You need to scroll down the page a little. It says 02 but will fit all 2gens and is the same seat many of us on the site own. http://www.2ndgearcycles.com/consignments.html

If it sounds to good to be true it generally is. Run don't walk. Check out the reviews on the link below. http://forums.cnet.com/5208-7593_102-0.html?forumID=58&threadID=271817&messageID=2792415

Iginition noise through audio system
Bvinson replied to Midrsv's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
With the bike running and helmets on try moving the wires where they run into the back of the fairing and see if that stops it. If it does split the fairing and pull apart the large connectors and grease with electrical grease. Also it could be the wires running under the tank. It has been discussed before and you should find the thread with a word search. -
If you ride in jeans these are nice for keeping the boys cooled down in the summer. https://www.motoliberty.com/prod_detail.asp?Prod_ID=345

Passenger Armrests For 2006 Venture
Bvinson replied to a topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
I want to bring something to everyone's attention regarding the use of passenger arm rests. When sitting in the co-pilot position with the rests in place look down at the leg position of the passenger. The legs are trapped under the rest. Now think about what would happen if the unthinkable does reach out and grab you. Hitting that car, animal or just having to lay it down for some unseen reason. We have a member on this site that had this very thing happen. I can not say if the arm rests were to blame or not but his wife sustained leg injuries that required major surgeries and hip replacement. Just something to think about... I did and quickly removed mine. -
I had my first one replaced when I was 18. Then I had both of them done 6 years ago when I was 48. I am not going to lie to you but it is a long road back to full recovery. You can be up and around in about 6 weeks. To get back up to full speed is a while longer. It all depends on rehab and how well the surgery goes. Range of motion is limited and riding the bike is a challange at times. Riding 2 up with a full load can be scary at times. Its not the riding it is the stopping and takeoffs. It is hard to put your full trust in the knees and if you get any lean after the stop you really have to pay extra attention. Best of luck with your decision and if I can answer any other questions shoot me a PM.

I have had them for a couple of years. Work great.. You will want to pull them off when it starts to cool down. If you ever have any doubt as to if they work take a short ride in cold temps. A whole new meaning to freezing your buns off.

Some very nice pictures of a collection of mostly older bikes. If you love motorcycles check this out. Over 100 years of bikes. Vincents, Nortons, Hendersons Harleys, Indians, Click on the link below and then on slideshow in the upper right corner. The Venue for the show is awesome. http://douglasschwartz.zenfolio.com/p27740263

Hi Lou, I thought you would like the color... I know that (right click)will work but it is not a good as the orginal pic. It stretches it and does not have the resolution. Glad you like it.

A while back someone was asking for a Venture picture to use for their computer desktop background. Below is a copy of the pic and I know it will work well on up to a 21 inch monitor. It will not let me attach it to the forum so I will send it to Don and maybe he can make it available somewhere on the site. In the mean time if you want a copy of it send me a PM with an e-mail address so I can forward it to you. http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c66/CNONT/rylstarvntre_1280.jpg

Coming home from Daytona Bike week back in 83 when a wild turkey (The winged kind & not the bottled breed) came flying across from my right. It passed behind my back just missing me. Well my partner riding behind me and to my left wasn't so lucky. It caught him in the face and pulled him off the bike like he had been clothes lined. To make it short he spent a couple of days in the hospital and required a few stiches and a cast on a broken arm. His Harley went to the big chrome shop in the sky.

I have an Anniversary coming up in a couple of weeks and was reflecting back on time. It will be 31 years with Melissa my best friend and soul mate. But that is not really the reason for this message. My reason for the thread is how I got to 31 years and counting. Listen up all you young guys. It all goes back to my grandfather and his secret that was passed on to me at my grandparents 65th anniversary party. I asked him how do you make it through 65 years? His answer was, Well I told her she gets to make all the little decisions and I get to make all the big decisions. After 65 years I haven't had a Big Decision...

I rode to work today. Left an hour early and made it about a 60 mile ride in. Not supposed to be as warm today only around 70.

driver's seat bolt nuts
Bvinson replied to dharnie's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I use the wing nuts and then slip a small piece of rubber fuel line over the rest of the thread. It keeps the nuts from falling off. I cut 10 or so at a time and keep them in my trunk. If I drop one or whatever I just get a new one. -
I currently have them both and the winner is either/neither one. Kind of like compairing Dish & Direct TV (Which I have had both also). They both play the same stuff just at a little different time slots. Some of the talk shows are brand specific but the music channels could be swapped back and forth and if no one told you which was which you would never know. Just my 2cents
